Have to think McMahon is on borrowed time now with another bad result.

The problem is, he makes changes every game for the sake of it and doesn't seem to know how to set up a side. He's already said away from home he sets up not to lose, for fucks sake.

One day, he will make a good manager. Right now, he's more of a coach. Varney has to shoulder some responsibility for the past three seasons, all three managers have been novices. He wants somebody who will just say yes to everything he says. Jamie Day wasn't a yes man, so he sacked him without giving him a fair chance.

Enjoyed the Stones Preview of the game for Saturday, a good read.
McMahon's been given public backing by our owner who's over for the game. Wonder what he'll make of it if we lose!

Rad Beograd v Vojvodina tomorrow before a 4th division game Saturday morning and then Crvena Zvezda v Bačka in the evening. I love this region.

Was we good Leo? Or a case of you not turning up?

8 goals in the last two home games, really need to get a bit of consistency going!

Both mate.

Ebbsfleet United 4-1 Wealdstone (Att: 965)

I said before the game that if we played like we did against Poole and Weston then we'd be hammered and low and behold that turned out to be the case. Daryl McMahon clearly had his players riled up with Ebbsfleet's back-to-back defeats and the owner being in town - from the off, suffocating pressing which was forcing us to go long to Elliot Benyon who once again ran his socks off but can't do anything with long balls being pumped up to him when he's got Dave Winfield and Kenny Clark winning every header. Jack Smith and Josh Urquhart were both awful as was Jonathan North's distribution, he's not quite right this season.

I'm not going to ramble on but Sam Deering ran the show and other than a 20 minute spell in the second half where we had more time on the ball, it was like watching men against boys. Could quite easily have been 6 or 7-0 we'd have had no complaints. Play like that on a regular basis and Ebbsfleet's ambitions of promotion will be met.

If nothing else, I felt for my younger brother who was in tears when we went 3-0 down and wanted to go home - he'll learn.

Sounds good from us and similar to the Margate game. Unfortunately we can't start the same XI at Stortford on Tuesday as Winfield is suspended. Need to be looking at maintaining a settled side though, don't think we've named an unnamed XI yet.

Many Stones there? Guessing with the ongoing works; you wasn't as loud as normal!

Didn't realise we had a game tomorrow. Bishop's Stortford away, not won there in the last two attempts.

Chauffeur (sp) tour of Sarajevo tomorrow and then on the piss with a Željezničar ultra. Life's good.

Forgot to answer your earlier question Joe - I'd hazard a guess at around 100 or so, definitely our lowest turnout at Ebbsfleet since we've been in this league but more than most sides will bring.

Concord Rangers 0-1 Wealdstone (Att: 241)

Sounded like a rather ugly win, which is fine with me as I love the idea that we shithoused a win at Concord. Tom Hamblin heading in the winner from a corner early in the 2nd half. 70 or so Stones at the game which is more than I thought we'd take however that is a figure taken from Twitter since I was still in the office at 7:45pm last night.

FA Cup Fever now with Histon coming to Grosvenor Vale on Saturday.

Yeah, only Dartford and Chelmsford will bring more I reckon.

Sounds like another solid win for us. Sudbury at home in the Cup on Saturday. I'll be back in time for the replay on Tuesday! ;)

Just seen the highlights, Saints should have been out of sight. The red card was right but Ollie Thorne did take Junior Morias out with the elbow and he should have walked too.

Right, I'm back. Now watch us lose on Saturday after scoring 13 goals in the last 3 games.

I really, really hope those bastards go down. Concord too.

Quite looking forward to being back on Saturday. £12 entry doesn't seem so bad, but I paid around £15 for 9 matches over the last three weeks.
Think you will get your wish with Concord.

I'm at Hemel v Bath on Saturday. I'm presuming the easiest way to the ground from Hemel Hempstead station is to grab a cab?

Yes. The station is on the outskirts of Hemel and the ground is on the outskirts on the other side of town. It's a 20+ minute walk from the station to the town centre, and the ground is further out

Look Out There Are Llamas - Definitely cab it, there's a long hill just after you come off the Magic Roundabout and head towards Vauxhall Road. Probably a 45 minute walk if you were to go down that route.

Edit: Saying that from guesswork having regularly driven to Hemel train station, living in Luton just means a 20 minute drive door to door.

I'm taking two work colleagues to our game vs. Truro on Saturday, who knows how the game will go but the clubhouse should get a fair bit of money from us.

Tough game for us. Didn't realise St Albans were doing so well. Didn't know they had Theopounus (sp) either! On paper, it should be fairly high scoring. 0-0 it is.

Has not surprised me one iota, I did predict earlier in this thread that they would make the playoffs - it's the Ian Allinson effect.

Louie Theophanous has been at St. Albans for over a year now. They looked a decent side when we played them back in August and ex-Stone Shaun Lucien should cause Sean Shields come problems down 'Fleet's left hand side.

Shows how much attention I've paid! I know IA was there, that's about it though.

Lucien is OK, we always struggle when teams actually attack us because it doesn't happen to often! Hopefully we don't change our set up just because they're a good side. We've been scoring for fun, try to keep it that way.

Aaron McLean looks set to be out for at least 3 months though, sounded like he was getting a bit of form to his name!

Ebbsfleet United 3-1 St Albans, 1039 crowd.

Missed the first goal as I was walking around the back of the stand to get to the Swanscombe End. 14 seconds in. Sam Deering has been on fire it sounds like and certainly continued that. Robbed them of possession straight from kick off and lobbed the keeper from halfway.

Darren McQueen and Deering again added our second and third inside the first 25 minutes. St Albans didn't really have an answer for us to be honest with you.

They pulled one back in the second half, but we dealt with it really well, they never looked like getting back into it. Created chances ourselves, but the damage was done.

Back to FA Cup next week... Havant at home.

Forgot to post in here on Sunday.

Wealdstone 1-2 Truro City (Att: 703)

Should have won, we didn't. Smash and grab from our Cornish visitors. 30 or so from Truro.

So Jordan Parkes has gone back to Hemel...

Massively unfancied here by McMahon. Brilliant start to last season with 8 goals by this time last year, then 4 for the rest of the campaign. Not sure what happened, but lost his form and confidence big time. I really hope he recovers it. Guarantee he will score against us at their place later in the season.

What's Poole's ground like?
They've come up the leagues very quickly. Has their ground improved commensurately?

I won't be able to give you a first hand experience until we play them just before Christmas. From what I've read, Tatnam Park is rather ramshackle as they play on a school field so there are likely to be strict covenants in place which will restrict development.
