And you beat us 4-1.
That was a great game. A rather forlorn looking Brian Laws on the touchline shortly before getting the sack. We also drew 2-2 at Glanford Park, with Ryan Brobbel scoring three over the two games. Now playing for TNS, apparently.
Tragic that I'm looking back at fixtures against Scunny with some nostalgia.

Lost our first two, 2-0 against Shrewsbury in Portugal and 3-2 away to Tonbridge Angels.

Didn't go to either, but given the amount of rain we had last night, I'd imagine the conditions in last night's game against Tonbridge were shite.

Never read too much into pre-season anyway. We could lose all our games, but as long as we win when August 5 comes, that's all that matters to me!

Firmino / Sturridge / Ojo vs Cook / Norwood / Norburn.

Think our bench might actually be better than theirs though

We drew 2-2 against LEAGUE 1 PLAYOFF SEMI-FINALISTS Scunthorpe United. Means nowt of course but we did alright, and were 2-0 up before multiple subs, youths and trialists sent the game to ratshit after 70 mins or so.

Passed it around nice enough but we were never going to get through a defence full of internationals.

Went tonight and well pleased with that, only when all trailists came on did we look poor.
Friendly game means nothing but keeping all of last year (since xmas) players gives me hope.
Thoughts RANKINE was awful last season at Guiseley vastly overweight and couldn't run and was not impressed when we signed him, must of been in gym all summer seemed quick and put himself about but still got large arse though.

Looking at the team you have, I think you will come straight back up. Fond memories of York. One of my earliest footballing memories was seeing you beat Man Utd 3-0 away from home. I also went to watch you play at Altrincham around ten years ago. You won comfortably.

He did ok for us and still has a burst of speed on occasion. If he lost three or four stone he would be so much better and could keep up the work rate. Incredible shot on him!

According to the match report on the Barnsley FC website one of our striker triallists was their former player Kayode Odejayi. He worked their defense second half and was a real handful. I didn't have a clue who he was until i read the report. Wasn't he at Stockport last season?

Much better display than the performance from Saturday, possibly the triallist might have been James Caton who I think was at Dover? No sign of Brodie tonight from Saturday's encounter with Shildon.

We beat a very young Bristol City side 2-0, both goals from trialist James Gray, ex Accrington, Wrexham and Southport.

So two days before the game Palace have announced we will be getting the under 23's.
I was half expecting this, but its a shitty move to pull considering they promised to bring the full first team. Also in the process fucking over Basingstoke at the last minute by cancelling their friendly (the under 23's were meant to be playing them)

Watford did the same to us except via their club website on the evening before.

We lost 4-0 to a Spurs XI yesterday lunch time at their training ground.

We fielded 2 teams in each half and 5 trialists.

We're away to Harlow Town on Saturday.

We have a Spurs XI down here on Saturday. I'm presuming it will be their U23s. Should be a good test.

sad how it's still going to be a long time before the authorities even consider the possibility of letting competitive games be streamed, losing years of revenue

Won 11-0 at Cammell Lairds. Not really sure what to make of it as whilst we scored some goals, can't have had too much of a test.

I suppose fitness and confidence will have benefited.
