O's win 6-1 at Harlow. Went 1 down, natch.

Goals from Mooney, Abrahams, Bonne (2) and a brace from Trialist B who is apparently Josh Taylor (ex-Halifax). Any comments on the latter, Shaymen?

Lost 2 0 to a strong Derby squad in our first friendly. Pretty much played two 11s as did they, and first half was decent. Second half mostly trialists and we barely had possession; whiles there's 2 or 3 who look worth persuing the stand out trialist was Jack Storer, but for all the wrong reasons.

Storer was at fault for the first goal but blamed and was shouting at someone else, then spent the rest of his game complaining, moaning and mouthing off at everyone while looking generally lazy and disinterested. He had an argument with Brodie who I think was trying to talk some sense into him, then next minute he had Bradley Johnson round the neck and is swinging wildly at anyone and everyone. Has to be dragged away by Macc players including Brodie to prevent him punching someone. Doesn't get sent off as he storms off the pitch before the ref can talk to him, taking off his shirt and throwing it to the ground in a huff as he headed down the tunnel to jeers from both sets of fans. What a tit.

Players, officials and the bench were laughing shortly afterwards and we were allowed to bring Durrell back on as an unofficial sub. Bizarre all round.

Won 11-0 at Cammell Lairds. Not really sure what to make of it as whilst we scored some goals, can't have had too much of a test.

I suppose fitness and confidence will have benefited.

Not so sure about that. Lest we forget that Grimsby won the title in pre-season after beating a string of Football League U21 sides. You've got one hand on the trophy.

James Alabi scored five, including a hat trick in fourteen minutes. Some interesting decisions for Mellon to make this season, particularly up front.

Dale Roberts Memorial Cup - Diamonds 2 - 2 Barwell

AFCR&D win 6-5 on penalties.

Dolman loves a good equaliser against Barwell! Took it to pens and sub 'keeper Heath made the only save in sudden death. Barwell lead 2-0 before being pegged back, Diamonds had a chance with a pen saved at 1-0.

A good run out overall against a strong side from a level above, and a good way to break in Hayden Road.

First half as you said was pretty promising, Burgess and Durrell stood out as looking especially good. The other permanent signings all did ok and Arthur was the best of the trialists, I wouldn't be surprised to see him given a contract. The keeper Gogic and a couple of the defenders are worth another look. As for the Storer incident, I don't want to see players with that attitude at the club so good riddance to him.

Lost 2-1 at Hampton and Richmond, with a defence full of trialists and the rest made up of first teamers.

Did Sandro Semedo turn out for Derby today? (Young left footed midfielder with dreadlocks)

In short, no. His name's not on the teamsheet I picked up. Is he one of your old players or something?

Turned down a contract offer before Becchetti fled. Was our fourth-oldest regular in the second half of last season. He's 20.

Yeah, turned down a new contract with us and was training with Derby last week.

Decent 1-0 win today against a very mediocre FC Halifax. Very promising second half performance. Billy Priestley with the winning goal in his second game after signing from Salford. Looks an excellent acquisition.

We won 1-0 at Colwyn Bay.....didn't go so unsure how we played.

we are playing a lad called Max Leonard up front last couple of games, in typical fashion of someone recent to following non-league i'm struggling to find out if we signed him, he's on trail came through youth or elsewhere.......its a minefield summers with players coming and going at this level.

typing name and seems unless is by chance two with same name he played in evo stick North one last year for Glossop and ran away with all their player of season awards and hit 20 odd goals.......may be him.....who knows.

Parkgate (NCE Prem) 0 - 2 Guiseley
Some woeful finishing from us kept the score at a reasonable level for Parkgate, perhaps for the best as one or two of them started losing their heads after chasing shadows most of the game.
After Barnsley and today plus the quality of triallists on display I'm growing increasingly confident of a top half finish this time around.

A couple of results from today.

Salford City 2 FC Utd 1 (878 attendance) (Dieseruvwe, Maynard) and (Greaves)

Harrogate Town 2 Hartlepool Utd 1 (Knowles, Thomson) and (Deverdicks)
Interestingly, I wonder how ex Darlo Josh Falkingham played today for Harrogate?

Go to 4.18 for the Storer incident.
What a strange episode with Storer. Nothing wrong with his jump against Johnson who if anything should have been called up for his initial reaction. Then Storer loses the plot and doesn't even get "sent off", just decides he's had enough. Actually looked like Mitch Hancox might have told to just fuck off, and of all people Richard Brodie took him completely out the way. There's rumours we've got Storer signed on a season long loan, I really hope not after yesterday!

Pre season friendlies are dull at the best of times but this was a turgid affair, had a German (?) trialist keeper in goal who looked like it was his first ever footy match, don't know why I bothered going, knew it was going to be crap but it turned out to be worse

Yes, I've never heard of him- when did he play for us?

That Trialist B played for us at Brighouse last week though, along with his mate, Trialist A- wondered where they both were yesterday.

very weird to see Salford play FCUM considering they are in same league and playing each other twice next season anyway.

Was that down to testing their new stadium build for numbers?

We were in the Silver Jubilee Cup yesterday

Day started off with Hendon 3-1 Hemel Hempstead..not a bad game was fairly competitive imo

Then we played Hitchin Town..lost 2-0. We played alright in all fairness but 4 pre season games 4 losses we need to start winning!

Will be at today's games as well
1pm-- 3rd/4th Place Play Off Hemel Hempstead v Hayes and Yeading -- 3rd time this pre season we've played them!!

3:30pm Final Hendon v Hitchin

Was in the youth team a year or two and signed a first team contract in summer 2015. Never made an appearance apart from in the county cup before disappearing without trace around Christmas time.

Think he was originally from Chelmsford so sounds like he moved back down south.
