Poor game that. Tranmere will feel gutted they’ve not really tested the keeper to put this to bed and FGR will have felt frustrated they didn’t keep XI on the field as would of fancied winning that.

Forget the score, FGR did a number on us there. They'll certainly feel like they won a moral victory - they defend superbly, crowded us off the ball, and we were bereft of ideas.

11v10 rarely produces a spectacle and this was no exception. We need to be hugely better on Monday.

Wasteful finishing first half and too pedestrian second half against a team happy to lose 1-0. Need to find the extra gears we definitely have.

Tranmere with the advantage then, but I bet they'll be kicking themselves for not making more of that man advantage. Even against ten men for almost the entire tie, though, it took a potshot from range for Tranmere to score, and other than that they didn't look like scoring even despite all their chances.

Should be a much more interesting second leg, in any event.

We dawdled in possession and a clearly injured Norwood didn’t have his usual movement and Jennings had his poorest game of the season - thanks to me jinxing him.
