The 2 games have proven there bugger all between the sides tbh.

We’ve probably looked the best of the 4 sides, which counts for f all
We're all trying to lull each other into a false sense of security by pretending to be shite. That tactic might backfire, mind...

Wasted opportunity but at least we got one to show for it. Can't dwell on what's been frustrating game but it happens. All to be decided in Nailsworth on Monday.

Pretty disappointing night really, given the circumstances. First half we were so wasteful and second we were just poor and tactically outplayed yet again by Mark Cooper. Maybe playing against 10 men worked against us as we couldn’t break down that many men behind the ball but playing through the middle was clearly not working and we still persisted with it. Why not make use of some width?

Norwood was clearly injured for majority of the second half so should have been subbed at half time.

Absolute rocket from Banks which would probably have been one of the best goals I’ve seen not given at Prenton Park if it wasn’t for the goal line technology!

Hopefully with FGR forced to attack us for the first time in about 6 games we might stand a chance of hitting them on the counter to increase our advantage.

Shout out for the FGR fans, low in numbers but made a decent noise. Thought we pretty quiet in comparison to recent months which I’d probably put down to frustration from the way we played.

Atmosphere was woeful. I think people were a bit baffled why we were so slow second half.

I thought the atmosphere was very good in the first half, but our showing after half time left us all perplexed. I don't know why we had two wide men cutting inside into bodies rather than getting to the byline, and why we did not go with two up front, particularly given that Norwood could hardly move.

We still had enough chances in the first half to win by two or three, and a fit Norwood would have scored a couple tonight. We have been quite good at grinding out draws away to the better sides this season, so all is not lost.

Lucky us FGR fans were there, was the only noise I could here.

Only 300 fans but bloody hell we are a loud and passionate bunch away from home.

The atmosphere was great in the early stages. It went flat when we ran out of ideas in the second half.

Pleased we kept singing despite little on the pitch to encourage us. Not sure if Brown was getting closed down too well or just a poor night but he's got more in him than we saw tonight.

I do agree with you, however I thought the home fans gave up pretty quickly second half, and yes Tranmere were l,saying too slowly, but the dead atmosphere (second half) certainly didn't help.

Our pressing was really good and all our chances came from it. Cooper realised this and conceded possession to restrict chances, we only managed 2 of note second half as a result.

That’ll be different on Monday.

Thought FGR looked decent when it was 11v11, and a good defensive performance from them when they stupidly went down to 10 men. I’m quite happy with a 1-0 win because at least it gets the monkey off our backs with our recent poor record against them.
Hope whoever wins the tie gets promoted because I for one am sick of the sight of Forest Green and don’t want to be playing them again next season.

What a goal by Ollie Banks btw, he's been trying for it all season but they usually end up somewhere by the corner flag.

Also thought Manny had a solid game for you and if he'd got that long range effort on target our goalie was nowhere near.
Chris FGR doesn’t rate him though.

On the crowd thing, think the home support got very frustrated with the way things were going second half. Forest Green managed the game very well and their fans made a fair bit of noise. Sub 10k crowd a bit disappointing.

Sub 10k crowd a bit disappointing.
Still by far the best crowd there will be in these play offs, and the away support was negligible (not a dig at FGR).

Manny did ok at times, but he gave the ball away quite a lot and should have been sent off with the pen on Doidge. Accident waiting to happen.

FG defended well and you wonder if it was tranmeres big chance. To only win 1-0 when leading with 10 men would ultimately register as a disappointment, though of course would have been taken before the game started

I wonder whether retrospective action will be taken against Norwood (he says hopefully) ? Has that ever happened in League Two ?

Corrected for you.

True, but given the attendance some were anticipating, it's got to be viewed as a bit of a letdown. Wonder if the expectations of crowd numbers kept a few away. The club twitter had the Bebington Paddock, my normal perch as ticket only, a couple of hours before ko, yet there seemed to be a fair few spaces at the back. I got in paying for the Kop fine, but they were allocating seats at the top furthest away from the pitch., which didn't give the best view of events at the opposite end.

Post some footage to back up your claim then. You'd have to agree the Doidge footage is pretty damning.

In the context of our attendances in the last fifteen years, it is a good crowd. It was strange that there were hardly any pay on the day sales, so perhaps the ticketing did put a few off.
