D3D4 backing Mansfield to win the title too. You have to say that if they don't win the league then it's been a total failure of a season once again.

Is that with or without the early bonuses?

I wanted to take this seriously this year, so I headed over to The Fishy calculator (https://thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?Competition=4). Predicting every single league game will ensure that I win this little thingy here right? A little over 6 hours of careful deliberation and I have come up with this table -

1. Plymouth
2. Scunthorpe
3. Mansfield
4. Bradford
5. Forest Green
6. Newport
7. Northampton
8. Colchester
9. Crewe
10. Exeter
11. Stevenage
12. Carlisle
13. Salford
14. Swindon
15. Cheltenham
16. Cambridge
17. Grimsby
18. L. Orient
19. Walsall
20. Crawley
21. Oldham
22. Morecambe
23. Port Vale
24. Macclesfield

edit -

(1) sorry Macc and Vale fans. Don't really want either one of your sides to go and I hope I'm proved wrong come May, though not at the U's expense obvs!

(2) and no, I didn't really predict every single L2 game on the Fishy, before anyone asks!

I’m surprised they picked Mansfield, considering they clearly put some thought in to it and failed to question the fact our manager has never actually managed before. It’s a big risk.

I’m struggling myself to put Mansfield in the automatic because of that unknown.

If you really spent 6 hours on that mate then we need to set up a ‘Get a life for Vanni’ campaign.

I am in for 50p.

Poor effort that is for 6 hours input. There are at least 6 teams above us who have been weakened, while we look stronger than last season, and I'm sure that Swindon will be at least 7 places higher than you have put them. How are Carlisle going to finish in the top half with no forwards? (no disrespect Carlisle fans). You might want to look at that again.

Poor effort because It put Vale lower down than you expected :brill:

poor effort for several reasons if you bothered to read it

All about opinions I guess, we will be backed to struggle after the last two seasons so it’s understandable, personally I think we’ve kept the main first XI squad from last year that stayed up comfortably in the end and addressed the main reasons for the struggle, I.e. lack of goals Miller was the only other forward to score (4 goals) than Pope and have added Cullen who if we keep fit should be a cracking signing at this level and Bennett who despite being maligned by Carlisle fans got 6 or 7.

Lack of pace we’ve added Rhys Browne and David Amoo which should address that and of course aren’t saddled with Aspins Uber negative tactics of sitting deep in our own half with Pope 70 yards isolated from anyone else!

And of course got rid of the disruptive players from the squad that had been unprofessional.

I think we will be comfortably not involved at the bottom but you never know so can’t guarantee that!

Anyway time for my predictions!

Vale 11th and Crewe 14th?? I’ll have some of what you’re smoking

We shall see, you’ve lost Bowery we are free of Smurf and won’t waste six months of a season this time under Aspins tactics.

No reason why we can’t finish above you this season. 11-14th would be acceptable progress in undoing the mess Smurf left.

As I said it’s all opinions. See what facts unfold in the next ten months.

I'm not one for excuses, but this thread and the other one do look pretty similar at a cursory glance :shifty: For one, both were started by the one with the typing monkey avatar. No bother, I'll just move it to the correct thread, and see if more Vale fans take issue with my predicted table :ffs:

Bowery lol, lazy, half arsed, uninterested. We’ve signed Powell who is a better player.

Let’s just say, just about everyone disagrees with your prediction. Your 1st team just lost at home to Bury, think that is a good sign of what’s to come for you. Can change your owners but it’s never going to have that big an impact in turning around your performances on the pitch.

You really think that since April enough has changed for you to go from a relegation battle to leapfrogging us into the top half? Give over

You lost to Nantwich what’s your point?

Notts County went from play offs to seemingly improving their squad to finishing bottom... meanwhile FGR went from a relegation battle to making the play offs.

Going from 20th to 11th is hardly a huge achievement... nor is finishing above Crewe. We may as well pack it in and shut the club down if we can’t even think that’s possible. May take time to turn it around, may not so I’ve gone with the mid ground of a mid table finish. We’ve addressed most of the issues on the field with the attack and lack of goals and more off it, even down to simple things like the food and preparation. It’s a poor league so easier to turn things around than say the Championship or League One.

Crewe fans really do obsess with the Vale don’t you... couldn’t give two hoots where you finish in relation to us unless it costs us a promotion spot or play off spot or sends us down.
