 Told the players to rip their contracts up and that an under 12's side could do better than them.

Did ok when he and his mate had the league bought for them every year but now he's had to actually manage he appears to be a Sunday league manager. Talks like one too.

Happy with the win, probably a draw would have been the fair result. Desperately need another striker to give us more options.

Signed a keeper today Joslain Mayebi, finally a number two.

a good start, though we havent had the toughest of opponents yet, lets see where we are after the next few games against some of the better teams, still lack a bit up front and creativity from attacking postions,

County pick up a 1-0 win at Southport. Would've happily taken three points from these last two games, so looks like a job well done. Can only go off what they said on the radio, apparently County were well on top first half, but Southport had the better of it second half despite being down to 10 men. Match marred by a bit of bother off the pitch though

It's a fair assessment of the match. Going down to 10 men seemed to lift the pressure off us, and I thought we deserved something from the game. It was far better than the spineless performance we put in against Altrincham anyway.

Some of the off the pitch bother was entirely avoidable though on our club's behalf. Why make it all ticket for your fans (only to have to open up a cash turnstile on police advice), then not enforce any segregation? We know your fan base has an unsavoury element and caused some problems at Haig Ave last season, and throw a day on the beers at the seaside into the mix, and it's a recipe for trouble.

The worst first half I've ever seen from us. It was pathetic we didn't create anything and looked half asleep. We definitely just expected to roll over Ashton and credit to them they took advantage of that and quickly went 2-0 up with their second being a screamer

Second half was a different story. Took off Johnson and Austin and put on Ed Williams and Joel Taylor. Gave up with the 352 and went to a 442 Diamond. Worked wonders and we were all over them Taylor getting us back in it to make it 2-1.

Then Dan Bradley basically cost us the win. Get fouled by a bit of a lunge was nothing more than a yellow in my eyes but he decides to take things into his own hands and start a fight and looks like he threw an arm and gets sent off. Pathetic from him as it was totally avoidable. We then have a defensive mixup between Taylor and Hall to allow Ashton to score a tap in. Vaughan then turns the Ashton left back inside out and dinks it across to Chambers to get his first for us. Before we throw everything at it and our CB Horsfall has a shot that's blocked Ironside flicks it towards goal and Richards puts a diving header into the corner. Nearly stole it at the death as Ironside had a shot blocked as well.

Credit to Ashton they surprised me and did well, can see them being in a relegation battle still though as their defence is tiny. Teams like Alfreton will have a field day against them.

Ed Williams was my motm turned the game around and can see him starting from now on.

Fantastic 4-2 win for Darlo away too Brackley, especially with being 4-1 up at 24 mins too.

Great performance, Styche with a hattrick and Ainge the other.

Sure DarloOnTour will provide a better analysis of the game but I’m buzzing that win.

Heard a decent number of around 230/240 Darlo made the 8.30 hour round trip down there. Credit lads.

Cracking day out at York and a result to boot.

York where were poor. They couldnt deal with Denton and Peniket up top. Bateson and Platt were both excellent in midfierd nipping in and mopping up any danger.

We thoroughly deserved our 2-0 half time lead thanks to Denton`s free header and Bateson`s calm finish after a defensive slip. Could have been more too.

We were then presented with the chance to make it 3-0 from the spot. Peniket stepped but it was a really weak effort and a simple save for the york keeper.

This gave a very disgruntled home support a lift and York were alive. They soon pulled one back and we were in for a nerve racking last 20 minutes.

We survived though under severe pressure as Parkin made a difference when he came on.

The result means we will remain unbeaten in three visits to Bootham Crescent and 4 points from 3 tough opening fixtures. Chance to build now with upcoming home matches with Curzon and Blyth that we need to look to win before another tough set of games. Tuesday`s poor performance swiftly forgotten about

A poor team? :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Not sure what that makes you then. We were comfortably the better side and should have been out of sight but a poor penalty let you off the hook and gave you a lift. But we fully deserved the win and despite heavy criticism from the home fans I thought the ref had an very good game and got the vast majority of the decisions correct,

Stunning performance from Darlo! It was an utter demolition job in that first half, best in years.
Ainge & Styche were on fire the Brackley defense just couldn't handle them. Which will be the case for the majority of the teams in this division.

Brackley showed a bit of promise, but were just never at the races against a well organized Darlington team, that are now beginning to believe in themselves and getting better with each game. I know it's early day's but this team looks really good.

Other than another sloppy goal we gave away in the first half, our performance where we played some quality football throughout the game was a delight to watch. All four goals were out of the top drawer. Unbelievable strikes from Styche and Ainge :brill:

Trotman was outstanding along with the improving Dom Collins, also with Wheatley and Elliot.
Maddison got down well with a peach of a stop as Brackley were looking to get back into the game at 4-2! Crucial save that was. But performance of the day for me was from Jonny Burn, coming back from injury he was impressive alongside Collins.

It was nice to see the referee was inconsistent, she was absolutely fucking dreadful.

Btw, what a journey to Brackley with diversions took nearly four hour's to get their, and the same back :sna:

Good following of Darlo' fans down at Brackley, well done to everybody that made the trip.

Well done as always to the Darlo fans who make it down each year.

Worst defensive performance from Brackley I've seen for years. We've signed a new CD called Connor Hall - he looked pants in pre-season and shocking yesterday. I put goals 2 and 3 down to him, and though our GK should have done better with number 1. Excellent finish for Darl's 4th though.

Think 'Darlo on Tour' might be getting a bit carried away however - they certainly weren't all 'unbelievable strikes' - two were hoofed balls, flick ons (one with our two DF jumping into each other) and then tap ins. It also was no 'demolition job' which has connotations of overrunning your opponent - we 'just' let in 3 goals in 5 mins - after that, ironically we played okay and were the better team, albeit of course, all Darlo had to do was sit back and soak up pressure - of which in the 2nd half we applied too little.

Wholeheartedly agree with the ref assessment - one moment giving fouls for 'offences' she'd let go a minute before, and her peach decision, pulling the game back to give Brackley a foul, when we had a 3 on 3 break.

Oh well - not sure what to make of us as yet this season - actually look a lot more potent than I'd feared, but the defence, our great strength for 2 years, looks porous.

Well done to Darlo - I think what this means for their and our strength will only become clear with time. If their strikers can play as they did yesterday though, they'll surely do well.

A little less 'injury acting' to kill the game would be appreciated however - especially with the Darlo bench going crazy at one point as the ref wouldn't blow up for another feigned injury, only for the player to rise like Lazarus a moment later when Darl won the ball.

Anyway, don't want to end on sour grapes - well done for their victory, and I don't know what to make of us at the moment - although those in the prediction league picking us for mid table I hope will be wrong....

It makes us a joke of a team with players here to pick up the last lucrative pay packet they'll ever get as they make an embarrassment of our club one last time because they were handed ridiculous contracts after getting us relegated.

You don't need to be good to beat us.

I'm sorry but somewhere along the line you do know you'll have to frog-march him out the club.

The problem with this is you mean him as MG, there is a long list of people before him who need to be removed, it's no coincidence we've developed a culture of failure under three consecutive managers.

Just think. When you're back in the Football League, you'll be able to bore the new fans with how you were there.

Time to tune back in to the world. Bloody went up there for it as well.

We play them on Wednesday night, I might have to find a secret place. I'd have probably gone home after that third goal went in, definitely the fourth. We left early at Chorley last season when we got hammered 4-1 - I can't watch shite.

Worst defeat since 1953. I tried desperately to get out of a previous engagement to go up to Blyth, but no luck. In fact very lucky. Thanks Wrexham fans … what is it your 11th season down in the abyss … now that IS funny!

Great game between Leamington and Bradford PA. Leamington were 3-0 up (2nd and 3rd goals worth looking at) with 3 minutes to go, Bradford pulled two back to make it 3-2. Leamington then scored again to make it 4-2 to seal the win (another good finish). Worth a watch this one.
