A retained list at last all be it a short one as expected.

Sad to see Chris Elliott go. Probably my favourite player. Was consisent too. Edward Wagner has something about him too. Hope he gets another club at this level. The rest can find pastures new.

Confirmation that we have made 11 signings that will be released in the next few days.

Expect that to be Billy`s friends from Halifax/Ferriby

Still nothing from us, Johnson’s on holiday so seems like Morley has been doing most of the work this past week. Due to our financial problems we got rid of a lot before the end of last season, so of what’s left:

Contracted: Ross Hannah, Kingsley James, Craig Mahon, Jordan Archer, Matty Waters

Offered new deals: Tom Crawford, James Jones, Lucas Dawson

Out of contract: Andy Halls, Lathaniel Rowe-Turner, Jordan Gough, Myles Anderson, Karl Cunningham, Gary Roberts, Dom Vose, Nathan Brown, James Akintunde, Harry White

Already left: Ryan Astles (Southport)

We’re actively trying to ship out Hannah & James as they’re on far too much and both ended last season out on loan. The other three contracted players will probably stay, have no problem with that either. We’ll do well to keep academy graduates Crawford & Jones who have both been offered deals, they have league clubs looking at them and in Crawford’s case, Championship ones. We’ll get compensation at least. Absolute balls up that Dawson was offered one, a bit of panic because Newport showed some brief interest. I doubt he’ll accept anyway thankfully.

Of the others it seems like Roberts may be offered a new deal, obviously has the ability and it’s been good to see him keep his head down and keep on the straight and narrow working with our community trust during the week. Not sure anyone else will be offered although I’d consider Akintunde & Brown personally.

Southport are ‘monitoring’ Harry White apparently, nice lad and all that but been a disaster for us. Also interested to see who’ll be daft enough to take Rowe-Turner on again this summer.

Did Beevers play much?

Didn't realise Marshall was still with you. I thought he'd dropped well down the leagues and Baxendale rings a bell. He the one who was highly rated at Walsall?

Yeah Beevers played around 15 games or so. Did a job. Couldnt play 2 games a week and looked absolutely knackered when he was forced to at one point. Not surpised he has left given he was part of Moyses backroom staff.

Yeah we were stuck with Marshall along with a number of other players. He did have a loan spell at Hyde though and managed just a single goal in about 30 appearances.

Yep your right about Baxendale. We went for Andi Thanoj and after we missed out on him to Boston Mc Dermott was waxing lyrical about how we had pulled off a massive coup by landing Baxendale from the US Second tier. The true was while he was ok on the ball he wanted way too much time which you just simply dont get at this level and he was very weak and brushed off the ball easily. Needs to get to the gym. Looks like a shadow of the player who did well at Walsall in L1.

Situation sounds pretty serious at Nuneaton.

Here is what Lee Thorn the chairman has to say

From the Chairman

Regarding recent developments...
Late on Monday night I was informed that the Nuneaton Town Supporters Cooperative were not able to put together any offer for the football club and its Liberty Way home.
I was very disappointed to hear this as I really wanted them to take over and make it a community and fan run club.

Two options were presented to the Coop:

Option 1 to buy the club and stadium at a figure supplied to them.

Option 2 to rent the stadium on a long-term lease which satisfied the competition criteria, based on an, under market value, rental figure (this option included taking over the clubs trading debts).

At no stage was any financial information requested by the Coop regarding the running costs, trading debts, or any other costs involved in taking on a club of our standing.

The last few weeks have also proven that there is not a group of local businessmen waiting in the wings to invest in this club. They have had a chance to come forward and talk to me, yet none have taken it.

The Coop have shown, for a second time under my four-year tenure, that they are not able to take over the running of the club either.

Since taking over at the club I have had to fight battle after battle to keep the club going. People inside the club have tried to sabotage it, people outside have tried to undermine it and people who want to cause the club to fail have tried to turn the town, and Boro fans, against the club for their own ends.

I have fought hard for over the past four seasons for a club that I have grown to love, but it has taken a toll and I'm now tired of the fight.

I told members of the Coop about my intention to step down as Chairman and sell the club prior to my planned announcement. I did this to allow them time to prepare and plan, so they could spring into action when the announcement came.

I also informed them that the application to change the club name, back to Borough, had been successful and when I had planned to announce it.

However, the Coop, for their own reasons announced those two things the day before I was going to, which made any statement from the club pointless.
This meant our contracted players, employed staff, sponsors and fans found out from the Coop, rather than officially from the club, this alone created a huge amount of turmoil and uncertainty.
This action has damaged relationships between the club and some sponsors, maybe irreversibly, and could cost the club thousands of pounds in lost sponsorship.
Prior to this I had not spoken to anyone about sponsorship for the coming season because I wanted to give the Coop a clean slate and a chance to earn as much money as possible upon taking over.
I had also not set season ticket and admission prices, as I wanted the Coop to be able to set the prices they wanted, if they were to take over.
Now it is clear they cannot table a serious bid, I must move on, as does the club. Other offers have been tabled which we hope to progress now that a line can be drawn, once again, under the Coop’s ambitions.
The club must meet certain conditions to fulfil our licence to compete in the competition. We had three things to tick off to enable this to happen, we now have one item outstanding.
It is not my intention, at this time, to re-enter the club, and I hope that a new owner is found as soon as possible, so that the work required to start the new season can commence.

Usual chairman blame the fans claptrap.

Plough money in, suddenly stop and magically expect fans can suddenly be dumped with the running within months, then moan when they cannot due to it being unsustainable for 4 odd years.

Heard a few days ago is massive chance Nuneaton will be in this league and looking likely

And these are not the club in the biggest crap playing budget wise.........FCUM also big one to watch, I hear lots of things from Curzon fans (as many manc non league fans know or worked within other manc clubs) to suggest a lot going on there currently, saying that they may be trying to address it all but will mean a huge tough job for their boss

Our manager Tommy Wright must be thanking his lucky stars getting out of Nuneaton!

The chairman soon got bored, in which no doubt he'll have been flaunting his money about on player's wage demands over the year's in the hot seat.

Ashley Chambers must be on a good screw.

we will never sign anyone who will impress on paper the key is always how much more Flanagan can get out of these players their previous club couldn’t

It’s like we signed Marshall from Alfreton last year who DSL didn’t rate at all, yet he was excellent for us and just had an unlucky long injury.

Flanagan will get them fitter and working harder and will give them a better attitude........then it’s whether there was wasted talent there or not.

But yes on paper two Staly players and Alfreton player isn’ good

I always thought Danny Morton was one of Young's better signings. In fact, it was when Young dropped him and replaced him with one of his Chester cronies (can't remember the name) at the beginning of his scorched Earth transfer policy that everything started going wrong.

I didn't see much of Chris Sharp. The only thing I remember is him getting sent off for randomly lamping someone at Oxford City.

Well I hope history repeats itself and Flanagan can get something out of him.

7 goals in 40 appearances. 1 decent game all season. His attitude is awful too. Don't even imply to criticise him on Twitter either he doesn't like it

Our first signing is Jordan Keane who was captain and seemed to have a very good season at Boston picking up all the awards al - he also scores a few headed goals from set pieces which is something we haven’t had forever.

Our official website is describing him as a defensive midfielder who can also play centre back though I’ve seen him described as a defender elsewhere.

Any views from the Boston Fans/Darksithlord would be gratefully received.

Another signing in its way on Friday as well.

To the surprise of nobody Tom Denton signs for us on a 1 year deal
Very effective when he's on form. The biggest drawback, in my observations, is when a ref takes against him, which is often. When this happens, he gets penalised every time the ball is lumped forward, even though he's the one being fouled, and it simply stops any momentum dead in its tracks. When this happens repeatedly throughout the game (and your team doesn't have a plan B) it kills the game as a spectacle, stone dead. This I think is why many Town fans took against Heath, early doors. It may be fine and dandy at North Ferriby and Alfreton but expectations are higher than that at clubs that have a long history in the Football League.

The name you are looking for is Dale Tonge. God he was awful!

Jordan Keane seems to be a decent acquisition.

Sorry, I don’t get how that’s relevant to AFC Halifax?
Boring.

If you continue to display this deficiency in solidarity, I'll have little choice but to boot Hartlepool, who let's remind ourselves are the only club that had to apply for re-election more times than we did, out of the Brotherhood. It's up to you.:box:

This would be, like, the 4th time the club has folded? Time to face facts. :dk:

Indeed he was awful. For clarity, Steve Burr brought Tonge here and left after three appearances to yourselves. Young never had him with us.

Only rumours. I'd seen something on Twitter this morning and as I was looking at your forum seeing the same rumour we announced Eustace was gone. Wouldn't surprise me if the Yates rumour was true as well.
