4,644 at Edgeley Park on Saturday and we've got Man Utd and Man City right on our doorstep!
Point taken - but Stockport has a population of nearly 290,000 (& Greater Manchester 2.7million). I know this calculation is a very blunt tool, but 4,644 represents 1.6% of Stockport's population attending, whilst Brackley's average attendance of 580 represents 4.5% of the town's population turning out. We've got Oxford / Northampton / Coventry 20 miles either way. As I said, lots of differences I know, but really Stockport's attendances really only show they don't belong down here...

Good luck to FC United winger Elliott Simoes at Barnsley. Stuck out like a sore thumb when we played them back in October

I kinda get your point, but Oxford (League 1), Northampton (League 2) and Coventry (League 1) around 20 miles away are hardly the same as the global brands of Manchester City and Manchester United 7.5miles & 9 miles respectively.

Needless to say I agree with your point. a club of our size in theory shouldn't be down here but we're here on merit.....

We bloomin hope so!

It's out of our hands though, we need beat Chorley away and then better them by 4 points in the remaining games.
It's all to play for, 2 teams both in top form, though a couple of injuries could make all sorts of different things happen, whichever way it goes it is an exciting season.

Think it a week to early but here is York form under the dreadful reign of Collins and last Saturday against you.

Home
Won 6 Deawn 2 Lost 1

Away
Won 0,’Drawn 0 Lost 8

Some of home wins were in FA cup against weak opposition but only lost to BPA because had a player sent off after 10mins.
Some of players are wankers and can’t be bothered but put more effort in at home.
It’s Watson first home game and should put 500+ on attendance, was amazed we took 455 to Stockport that was only because of new manager would of been about 200 otherwise, fans were pissed off with club but most seem happier and pulling the right way, also signed Paddy McLaughlin back today who was outstanding when we got promoted back to league.
Watson also says will be another 2 signing for Saturday,Hopefully Centre backs.
Hopefully we do you a favour because would like you gone for next season and you have spent to long down here.

Hope not!

Why not? There are two spots up for grabs.

I wouldn't get too excited mate, we heard this when we signed him and he was dog turd.

The Gateshead fan also warned us not to expect much either.

Have you seen our midfield?
Josh Law plays holding because he hasn’t got any pace to play full back anymore, can’t tackle passes sideways always.
Moke who goes backwards and sideways never forward.
Any player with 2 legs is an improvement.Hawkins was shit but miles better than them 2.

Think we'd give you a run for your money on the shittest midfield in non league.

Does Hawkins play?
One thing for sure our centre backs are even worse than centre midfielders.

Money recalled him and started him (can't remember against who) and he lasted 51 minutes before getting hooked. Hasn't had a look in since but he's not much worse than Connor Newton and Nicky Featherstone.

State of our clubs.

Alfreton have won 3 of our last 20 league games and yet somehow York are still below us in the table. Its unbelievable.

I'm not convinced there's a lot of difference between the North and lower half national level. Our squad would be no better than around mid table, Telford tore us to shreds and we just edged Leamington in the Trophy and Darlo the other night (although it was mainly a reserve side, full strength Darlow should've won but fucked it up). We may well see you next season. Don't beat Braintree on Saturday then we are in a lot of trouble.

Think Watson is a good appointment for York but they strike me as similar to us. An angry, impatient fan base, poorly run, with the worst of all FT players who are weak characters, talentless and just shite basically.

Highlights from yesterday's game between Leamington and Stockport. Deserved win for Stockport. Dominant for most of the game, should really have scored more. Leamington have a patched up team at the moment but have not won for a while either, so concerning. Stockport looked great, it could finally be their year to get out of the National North!

Is this Stockport's season?!
Nope. It has to go tits-up somewhere along the line.

My guess is those whingers on Yellowboard will get their wish, the owners depart leaving a vacuum that's filled with some Tony Evans or World Football Academy-type chancers (you'd think if any set of fans would be cynical towards new owners it'd be County fans, but nope; some people just won't learn) and Gannon gets sacked off yet again, and the saga continues.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I think the title race will be decided by how well Chorley cope with 2nd rounds of games where teams now will take them a lot more seriously than they did first time around.

County are used to that, they get it every week where they become most teams ‘biggest game’ or play in front of their ‘biggest crowd’ or sides who come playing 8-2-0 and county have to break it down.

I personally doubt Chorley had that most of the season as it was plucky Chorley up there as rest doing poor and will no doubt collapse, now it’s title favourites Chorley who need taken seriously to get something from.

Can Chorley now do that extra to beat them who will give extra, they do and I think title is theirs

Another big thing is if Stockport close the gap they will start taking 2000 away fans and turning away games into home games,

Our form over that last 6 to 8 games is relegation form, but we're still in a play-off position.

Spennymoor to announce a new signing at 5pm. Rumours its Stephen Thompson from Darlo..

Thank God it wasn't, although a very good piece of business for them in extending Taylor's contract. I've been surprised a league side hadn't taken a punt on him based on his form last season and this, but looks like he's gone for the security of PT football and a career as a teacher.

Honestly couldn't see Thompson leaving. He's a genuine club legend. And only about 10 or so goals from beating Alan Walsh as all time leading scorer for the club.

We have signed Lewis Baines on loan from Fleetwood for the rest of the season (to replace Jamie Stott who is going back to Oldham)

Was part of the Ashton United side that won promotion to this division and has recently completed a 5 game loan spell with Chorley.

Chorley fans, thoughts?

We've signed up local lad George Waring after he left Tranmere yesterday.

Timely boost up front as we've still got most of our forwards out injured.

Good signing for you. Not the most mobile but is always a physical presence up top.

Signed a centre half from Dundee,no details on him apart from 6ft 4 Tom. Bradbury, that’s 3 of problem places filled in a week.not saying any are any good but least Watson is aware of problem after 1 game shame Gray and Collins couldn’t see it.
Also got a very interesting player on trail, been injured a while but if ok will be a hell of a signing. Not a rumour seen him training with squad.

Looked solid for us, off five games hard to tell but didn't really put a foot wrong. Part of me hoping he doesn't hit them heights for you lot;)
