And it was well worth the journey!

JG made six changes to the starting XI, poor first half really. We had a couple of opportunities in & around their area, Boston had one good header that went over & another that Hinchliffe stopped at the near post from a corner, not much else apart from those, I'd say Boston edged it over all. Second half was a completely different story, we played our typical game and the home side couldn't cope. The highlight was Stephenson's kung-fu goal to open the scoring, can see it on the highlights below; the third was a joy to see as we absolutely bamboozled the defence.

Great result made even better by Sp£ndymoor's draw at home to Southport. That's 2 without a win for them.

Next up is Brackley away. This will be a very tough game. Would be happy to keep the unbeaten run going even if it does me we sacrifice top spot for a week or two.

A win would be absolutely mega!

Witnessed yet another baffling refereeing decision last night,.. Alty leading Blyth1-0 and in control by Alty when ref gave a free kick 6 yards from the goal line when our keeper picked up a loose ball, a defender cleared the ball against another Alty player and it went back to the keeper who picked it up with no Blyth player anywhere near him. Lots of disbelief, ref doesnt go and speak to the liner,.. cue 11 Alty players stood along the goaline 6 yards from the ball and they lash it into the roof of the net.
10 mins later a Blyth player intercepts an Alty cross straight to their keeper who picks it up and ref gives nothing,... inconsistency is what baffles me !
Nobody, even the Blyth directors could believe what they saw.
Having said that Blyth deserved a draw, great game of open passing football played in a great spirit in difficult conditions by both sides,.. that could have gone either way.

Well, I made the long trek down to Telford on Tuesday night and wish I hadn't bothered.

Didn't think we were as bad as it seems, Telford were just clinical in the first half and took their opportunities. They were the better team on the night and I credit them for playing some decent football.

Huge shoutout to the 80/90 or so Darlo fans spread out in the ground (due to it not being segregated). Special plaudits to those in the far corner with me and my pals who didn't shut up singing all game even when 3-0 down.

Onto Hereford away for the weekend on Saturday, nice early start (7am on the beers) and a night out in the town too. Got 3 full cars going along with a pretty full supporters coach. Fully expect 150/200 to make the journey down.

If your going to go for a meal, I highly recommend Ponte Vecchio, it's a family owned Italian restaurant. Is a bit pricey but totally worth it.

Next stop Hereford for us mate, it's not that far :shut: #FollowDarloAway#

Hereford’s a fucking belter of a trip. A good mate of mine lives round there, beautiful area of the country..at least the parts of it I remember when not being mortal.

Indeed it's one hell of a fucking journey, I have a vivid memory of the first time i went which was way back in 1996 in our play off semi final against the bulls. He's far better off down in Herefordshire it's got lovely places of interest...especially if you fancy a tipple of Bulmer's cider, canny area of the country is Hereford.

Away to crisis club Nuneaton tomorrow.

Confident of a fourth straight league win. Be nice to adopt a ruthless streak and put them to bed given the bad blood between the two clubs.

Pitch inspection at Curzon tomorrow ahead of the visit of Blyth

What a performance. Back to our normal selves. Need 8 more of them performances now. Jake Cottrell was my MOM today, brilliant today from everyone though. Wilson scored 5 in 2 against kiddy this season. Have to say they were the worst Kidderminster side I've seen us play though.

We were excellent throughout the team today, not a weakness anywhere, Kiddie still tried to pass the ball but we ran them ragged, just need 8 more performances like that and we are home and dry! Come on you Magpies.

good - don't blow it - we've not played you at Conference National level in years. Would be nice to get you (and Stockport) in the league next season

Atrocious game played in awful conditions at Nuneaton and we scraped our way to another 3 points.
Hope I never have to visit Nuneaton again.

Into the top half now. God this league is mediocre this season

I`ll go ahead while the County faithful head on north. Tight tense game, few chances, defences on top. BTFC took one of their chances, which was the difference. Nothing between these teams, except County have a larger squad. Not surprising when you get 2500 plus through the gate at home.

Thought Gannon`s interview was graceless and lacked class. He was clearly pissed off with the loss, but that doesn`t excuse either the lack of handshaking at the end or the irritable, dismissive tone in his IV about a side, and a club, which is together, tight, talented and since December, very hard to beat.

BTFC may or may not make it up this season, but they will continue to be extremely competitive. Crowds are building slowly, in a market town where there is no obvious football passion. I`m in two minds about the National League - could destroy the clubhouse experience, the small club hospitality, and the even the quality of the burgers as the crowds descend each fortnight and volume needs take over.

Thought County`s fans today were excellent, and showed the class their manager lacked.

This title tussle between Chorley and Stockport is proving to be as fascinating as the one between Torquay and Woking in NLS. Chorley looked nearly uncatchable at one point and it seemed Stockport were playing for the highest play-off place, but then they let Stockport in it, and now it's Chorley's to lose.

Although this will be a three-horse race if Spennymoor make the most of their games in hand and go above Stockport, didn't notice they were so close until now...

We’ve still got to play away at Chorley, and Spennymoor and Chorley play each other as well.

We’ve had a very tough week but now it’s out of the way we have the easiest set of fixtures. You couldn’t come up with a harder Run in for Chorley if you tried.

Thought a draw would have been the fairer result - but we took our chance in a gritty game.

Agreed with earlier post that Gannon taking a pop at Brackley was classless. He says we're going nowhere, skipping over the fact last year we reached the Playoff final and won the FA Trophy, and attendances have doubled compared to a few years back. Given his claim that Brackley's budget might be nearly as much as his own, then crowing about us 'standing still' the one time in the last 3 years he's produced a side challenging at the top, seems hubris. I was quite rooting for Stockport to finish first, but can't wish their manager well.

What an absolutely pitiful league this is all round, we're somehow still in the top half despite only winning three games since Mid December. Anyone who goes up should be automatic favourites to come straight back down.

Ironically that what when Gary Stopforth got injured. What a bloody player that lad is. Can't wait for his return.

I was speaking to Gary at the match yesterday. He's doing well with his recovery. The lad has such a positive, bubbly attitude. We're not going to make the play-offs now, he's 32 and lives up near Skipton, so not sure it's a shoe-in that he'll be here next season.

I haven't listened to Gannon's comments yet but from what I've been told they don't paint him a good light. He has a habit of shooting from the hip in the post-match interviews. By the Thursday/Friday interview he's usually a bit more measured. I can't imagine what he could have been displeased about as it was a pretty clean game with little shithousery (the vicious sniper attack on Brackley's number 3 near the end excepted - hope he pulls through).

Yesterday had 0-0 or 1-0 written all over it. Hardly a shot on target, dangerous free kick or even a corner all game. Pretty dreadful game really. We looked knackered and just lacking ideas going forward. Lots of changes to the starting line up and too many players playing out of position. By the end I couldn't work out what formation we were playing or who was playing where. I'll give Gannon the benefit of the doubt that the players left out weren't fit as if those changes were tactical they were baffling. We had a chance to nick a point right at the end with a header cleared off the line, but it wasn't to be. We've had a fair bit of luck winning games by the odd goal recently, so can't complain when it goes against us.

Brackley look a decent, solid side, like they always seem to. However, if they came up against us (at full strength) or Spennymore in a play off final I think they'd struggle. Can't really comment on Chorley as I've only seen us play them in the Trophy.
