Didn't see that coming today. I don't think Spennymoor were anywhere near their best today but we looked good and held on at the end. Flowers looked shaky on his debut and completely lost his man for their goal, but Johnson was brilliant alongside him.

Thanks a lot for that result, helps us a lot, from a Chorley fan.

Boston is not an easy place to go. That is a crucial win, hopefully the same next week.

Such a poor game between Leamington and Southport yesterday. A comical goal for Southport to concede which turned out to be the winner. Crucial win for Leamington though, 10 clear of the bottom three now.

Crunch time for Alfretons faint play off hopes with consective away games at Spennymoor on Saturday and Bradford PA on the 30th of March.

Two very tough away games and two teams we have really struggled against. We cannot any more slips up however for the playoffs

Seems to be a good time to play Spennymoor though with they having lost 3 of their last 4 league games

Yeah they've Spursed it right up

Straight shoot-out betwixt us & Chorley for top spot now. We've still got the second leg of the trophy semi-final to come on Saturday so they can increase the lead to 7pts, but we'd still have two in hand. That game at Victory Park next month is going to be huge.

Not league related but for those interested, Leamington will meet Nuneaton in the Birmingham Senior Cup final after beating Aston Villa U23's last night. Good game and a good crowd! Some county cup games aren't particularly interesting but this one was!

Looking forward to tomorrow's visit to Nuneaton in which it'll be most likely a last ever visit to Liberty Way? And dare i say surely a Darlo win must be on the cards tomorrow :shut:

And by all accounts James Caton appears to have signed for them, I wonder if he's still got his gloves it could be a bit nippy.................I hope AP has got a few beers for the trip ;)

Sad to see the fate of North Ferriby. Wikipedia says it was wound up over debts of £7,500 - less than the price of my second hand car (although I'm sure there's lots more behind the story). I know they 'reached higher' than their fan base could sustain, but that's part of the non-league dream isn't it? A shame they couldn't have stabilized back down at a sustainable level.

If they'd got there on the back of their fan base, I'd have some sympathy, instead they followed the well trodden road to ruin, first paved in gold by Rushden & Diamonds, Grays Athletic, and a host of others. No sympathy, at all.

Leamington have done superb, its clubs like Curzon/Leamington give them smaller 150-300 crowd clubs in the divisions below hope you can come up and compete at this level without a mass need to spend beyond the means (well as long as its accepted a promotion battle will be slim)

and plucky Ashton are still giving it a good go and could yet do it.......which would be a massive achievement since they have smallest crowds and lost nearly all their best players in summer.

With staly now posponed am hoping to maybe take the young'un to the derby game today between Curzon and FCUM (depends how ratty he is) could be a good game.

big one there for FCuM, they have a superb win ratio vs curzon so one of them games i'm sure they marked down as a needed 3 points.

very slim chance, but a win today and win midweek at Guisley (both on paper possible wins) would put Curzon maybe only 3-4 points off play-offs.....fail to win these two and i'd say we'll be first side with season finished and job done.

Another 3 excellent points today, started strongly, went ahead with a superb effort from Carver who was tireless again today, second half started a bit flat and Leamington tried to get back into the game then Carver struck again to effectively finish the game before Louis Almond hit a really good third right at the end. That extends our lead at the top, looking more like a two horse race now. COYM!

Ryan Cresswell is a good signing for Boston. Why's he at that level? Returning from injury and needs minutes in the final weeks of the season?

Another quality 3 points today, and it's now getting to the point where I would rather have the points on the board rather than the games in hand. As you probably know, I don't rate carver, but in all fairness to him, he's in a purple patch and probably playing his best ever football for us. Long may it continue.

Well of course you would, because you have the points on the board rather than the games in hand. If you had the games in hand I have no doubt you'd probably rather have them

I still absolutely cannot call it. Tuesday is a massive test of if and how the Trophy has disrupted our league campaign. If we win we can put it all behind us and carry on as we were, and I reckon if we do win it'll end up going down to the wire. Stumble and I reckon it'll shake our confidence and we'll fall away.

However I think every prediction I've made this season is wrong so wtf do I know.

First of all well done to the lads for grinding out this result after all this game could have gone tits up. In all honesty both sides were very poor wasn't a pretty game to watch from a spectator's point of view. The result was all that mattered for me - job done.

The referee was bizarre as per usual with some outrageous decisions? I thought both red cards were a bit harsh I've seen worse, I thought our two goals were skilfully executed by Thommo and Nicholson, and Nuneaton's equalizer should never have happened it was plain to see was never a corner, brilliant refereeing.

Gotta mention the pitch we couldn't play football on that surface, no surprises both goals were headers. For me Nicholson was my man of the match, he continually caused them problems up front and was unlucky not to grab his second goal towards the end.

Fantastic vocal backing throughout the match from the Darlo fan's that made the trip, must have been about 150? or thereabouts. Even though it was a dreadful game to watch.

Another polished performance, and now coming off the Tattenham corner and into the home straight for the race for the title.

We play Stockport on Saturday we should be chilled out by then if we can manage to motivate ourselves on Wednesday night by beating Chester at home.

I agree, we have the tougher of run ins on paper, but if we come away with wins against Telford and alty, I would take a point at Chester. Hereford away won't be easy for you lot, and neither will Chester. For me, it will be whoever wins on Easter Saturday.

Look at Chorley's fixtures though, they couldn't be much harder. I genuinely think we'll win it.

Brackley's league record after 1st Jan - P11, W9, D1, L1.
Oh for those points dropped with last minute equalizers vs Chester & Stockport & to have the two Christmas games against Leamington back again....
Hope we can try and have a run for 3rd - think its very hard for any of the teams 7 - 4th to win 3 games (including 2 or 3 away), to go up via the playoffs. But in a one off final away at perhaps Chorley, who knows? In the battle for 3rd, Bradford PA perhaps have the easiest fixtures, but can't really work out how good a team they are this season.
Wasn't impressed by Kiddy at the weekend, so it's increasingly looking like the top 7 are looking embedded, although Boston seem to have the easiest run of fixtures.

Didn't help we had injuries/international duty to key players but we weren't good enough. Our only chance coming from a penalty that wasn't a penalty. Think the top 7 are decided really only chance we'll have is if we beat Alty and BPA but I can't see it happening.
