Fairly routine 2-0 win, helped in no small part by a suicidal second booking by that Darlo player. First half was nondescript, shortly after the restart that Trotman decides to grab hold of Osborne's shirt to stop him bombing down the wing, and keeps holding on as they pirouette around each other. He'd only just picked up his first booking before the break, too, for pointless timewasting at our throw-in. After that Darlo didn't have a hope.

Thomas (who was my MOTM) with a simple finish in the box & Keane with a bullet header from a tight angle accounted for our goals. Not sure what to make of Gilchrist, maybe he has something different about him but he looked off the pace & a bit of a stranger. We're in the final furlong of a title race, shouldn't be a convalescence home for other teams' players

We hadn't played for 3 weeks and after about 40mins it showed, fortunately we were 2 up by then (should have been more) and from that point on Kiddy dominated the game and were very unlucky not to get something, not many clear chances second half but their finishing was poor. Part time team who were rusty beats full time team, at our best we would have torn them up as their defence wasnt up to much. Should make playoffs now.

Today summed up our season, good but just a little short of getting what we need.

To be fair Chorley were outstanding defensively, probably the best I’ve seen this season in that respect but offered absolutely nothing going forward. Shenton had one shot to save which was going wide anyway. We huffed and puffed but couldn’t get through, we were certainly the best team on the day but no getting through that brick wall. Seemed a bit odd that Chorley were happy with a point from the off.

Reaffirms my belief that whoever goes up will struggle massively a league above unless there’s a complete overhaul. Stockport are better equipped to do that.

The routine win wasn't as big as i thought, I thought we played the better football in the first half unfortunately sloppy defending once again came back to haunt us with that killer goal just before the break. Unusual of Trotman the lad very rarely gets booked, game over after the sending off it was constantly backs to the wall for the rest of the game. Apart from the last 5/10 minutes or so when Saunders and Elliot should have put their chances away.

No complaints at the end of the day the better team won.

Nothing much to add about today's game really wasn't expecting anything from the match result wise, but we gave it our best shot with a decent first half performance if only we could of kept the score 0:0 going into the break.

Like i say unusual of Luke Trotman very rarely gets booked let alone a red card, after losing our England C player we had zero chance of getting back into this game. Some pretty weird substitutions off the bench today with Bascome coming on for 10/20 minutes and then getting substituted back off only to be replaced by the clueless Henshall, mind you Bascome i didn't have a clue where he was suppose to be playing? And then in the dying minutes he sends on Elliot.

All in all a good day out sat in the beer garden with the lads near county's ground. And a voice box that is absolutely knackered.

Very disappointing performance at Chester, our defence was excellent as usual but without Alex newby we lack any creativity in midfield so then it ends up hoofed upfield. Not impressed by Tuton who doesn't even look fit, at times I would be happy with a point at Chester but not today, both keepers had 1 shot to save between them.

I don't think Gilchrist looked off the pace, but I agree he looked a stranger. He made some good runs but we never played the right ball to him. Given I don't imagine he's trained with us yet that's perhaps not a surprise. If we can adapt the way we play to his game he could be an asset - but that might be a big ask at this stage of the season.

Top 7 is done now. Somehow we're still 8th despite being crap since October. Shows how bad the league has been this year.

I thought Darlo played well in the first half although you could also kinda see why they were so low down in the table, they knocked it about nicely and their number 11 looked a decent player but they didn't create much until we nearly gave them a goal in the second half.

Although he didn't score I thigh Warburton was absolutely brilliant, the work he does off the ball is so important to how we play, in the end he was trying too hard to get his goal.

Agree that Gilchrist looks off the pace and will be interesting to see how Gannon gets Mulhern, Bel and Gilchrist in the 16, Bell was really off it yesterday but I think he's a good option off the bench and Mulhern not so good off the bench but is a better player and suits the way we play, we seemed to go 4-4-2 in the second half yesterday with Thomas going upfront so it wouldn't surprise me if we see that a little more now we have Gilchrist.

We massively missed Wilson up top yesterday. Defence was outstanding and midfield worked hard but we had nothing up top. Tuton can go back now for all I care, he was awful. Carver should have done better with his two one on ones but it didn't help with us playing hoofball for 90 minutes.

On that first half showing, I would say we were the better team. Again, we just couldn't find that final touch in the box. The second half, it was Stockport in my opinion - They didn't really have to step up the pace either, we just looked sloppy.

God knows what gets said at HT though, because once again they've come out and looked all over the place.

Still think that if we had a Reece Styche/Andy Nelson up top for a full season - We would be absolutely nowhere near a relegation battle as we play good football, we just can't seem to score.

looks like FCUM have accepted their fate after that 4-0 thrashing at home to nuneaton.

from sounds of their website they are getting shot of alot of their first team this coming game as they find them worthless and uninterested and going to play a load of their U23 side.

Been away ill for a little while

Another decent showing against BPA. ITS THE LAW we dont ever win at Bradford PA. Thats now 3 draws and 5 defeats since relegation back to this level

Anyway another solid. Continues our absolutely incredible run of having scored in each and every one of away games.

Next up (hopefully) is the visit of Altrincham. A team I have fond home and away record against

We deserved a win today, Telford were solid but nothing special. Weak refereeing to give their pen, gives them a free kick until their player screams at him to speak to the liner who then gave a penalty. A win today would have been massive with Stockport drawing as well.

Sorry DSL, that wont have made you feel any better I imagine. When we play well we can beat anyone,.. and when teams cant deal with us thats what happens. We've been crap for years so this takes some getting used to :woo:

We've turned into the stinking pile of shite that we were at the start of the season. I'm fuming with how gutless we've become. York offered little but were still deserved winners, that says it all.

Weird game today. We were much better than our previous matches against Chorley and Brackley, but it was a fairly even game, with BPA probably having the better chances, but we've come out with a 3-0 win. McAlinden and Ironside excellent today. Still an outside chance of making the play offs if Telford or BPA drop enough points, but it's looking unlikely. It's been an immensely frustrating season.

well that was the ultimate game of two halfs, stockport gave us a real pasting and really should have been 3/4 up at half time,2nd half our much maligned manager changed the way we set up and a totally different game, felt like a proper game today, just a shame the day was marred by our hooligan minority.

Got the job done to just about keep some play-off hopes alive.

Not nice to relegate Nuneaton, hope they pull through but unfortunately off the pitch they just came across as a dying club today.

Wasn't all that great to watch entertainment wise between two poor teams on show especially the first half it was pretty dire. The second half was much better we gradually took control of the game against a dreadful FCUM side that are without a doubt heading for the EVO-STIK League.

Probably too soon but i think i can safely say the result cements our place in the league for next season. As for FCUM doesn't look great even though they had one or two chances they were a poor side. I thought we played much better at Stockport last Saturday than today.

Good performance's today from Jackson, Palmer, Kneeshaw and Ainge. I thought Nicholson was slightly unlucky with the referee's decision, on another day the referee would have pointed to the spot.

Onwards to Boston United Next Saturday a point will be adequate.

A game plan change at halftime that did the trick against us and gave us a severe thrashing.

next week...............Guisley Vs Ashton United......what a massive game.

realistically they have little chance because the 3 games after that they have left are Chester, Boston and altrincham and i doubt any chance in them games (although alty may then rest players for the play-offs.)

but its a game of all or nothing, i'd like Ashton to do it, for a side with the smallest crowds, smallest budget and losing most of their best players in summer they have given the league a bloody good go.

Dunno what York did to Ironside in his 2 months there but he's a changed man. Was easily my motm yesterday.

On the game dunno how we didn't concede. Surprised BPA are where they are with that finishing. Missed plenty of 1 on 1's.

Playoffs still a major doubt but there's a chance still we could sneak in.

I'd like Ashton to do it too, to teach Mickey Mouse Guisly what happens when you get ideas above your station. Not even 18 months since they announced they were going full time and pushing on for the Football League. How we laughed as it all fell apart immediately.:£:£:£:fl:
