I think conf north been much stronger this year to last. Salford ended up quite drab champions last season and Play offs were weird.

Hard to pick in this years play-offs. Chorley or Stockport will be strong at home, Blyth are in stunning form, Spennymoor getting back into form which had them 2 months ago favourites for title.

Alty on their day can destroy teams and look best in league, Brackley have been excellent now for months and carry experience in play offs and while Telford/BPA seem weakest both have been up there all season and I remember ruling out Chorley/BPA last season as no chancers and both performed well in games

Looks like Salford were right to get rid of tweedle dee and tweedle dumb. They have done nothing at Chester without the massive budget they had at Salford

I had a Stockport supporting colleague at work, a very nice guy, but he left some time after the 2016/17 season and I haven't seen him since. After they bottled a good chance to at least get into the play-offs that season after Darlington were denied participation, I was pleased to see them finally be real contenders the last two years, far too big a club for that division (and for the NLP for that matter).

You lot must have undergone pretty contrasting emotions over the Easter weekend and to have it right back in your hands with an easy game on the final day must be a great feeling, how did you feel after you lost at Chorley? Did you feel you'd blown the title and maybe promotion altogether?
We still could blow it! I mean, we're playing a team that've twice looked like they wouldn't finish the season, haven't picked up a point at home for 6 months, only have 9 fit players, use a goalkeeper up front and apparently would rather concentrate on their forthcoming Birmingham Cup final... all of which makes me even more nervous

Only needs a Stockport player to get too hyped up in first few minutes and be sent off and suddenly it all changes

That's the one thing I'm certain wouldn't happen, County have got the best disciplinary record in the top 6 divisions; the only red we've had this season is when the bellend ref at Spennymoor away gave Sam Walker a second yellow for being the victim of a bad challenge

Doing fine.

We were on death's door a year ago and they brought in lads they know and trust to steady the ship. A double drop was a serious possibility when they were appointed.

Time to kick on next season though.

I'm with Mark K on this. We never had a plan b and the season has been a bit of a disaster. We've got to go with them next season as they're on a 2-year contracts. Only mitigating circumstance is they came late and most of the decent players had already been snapped up. They've got to do another big build and I'm not sure if they can.

It's been nothing like a disaster, disappointing it fizzled out I'll admit.

Some of our bipolar fanbase would honestly sack a manager after every defeat if they could. Since we reformed we've either been great winning leagues or rubbish fighting off relegation. We've never been just 'alright' until now. All this season I've heard 'We're going up' when we win or ludicrous shouts of relegation when we dared to lose a game.

Someone posted this on our forum since watson took over.
Play offs normally goes with form, did not realise Brackley were on such a good run and Alty are best team seen this season?
Chorley or Stockport might find the play offs hard.

I'm not surprised with this announcement it was a toxic atmosphere at Guiseley. I truly wish him well he's a decent guy, just not worked out well for him.

Thats exactly what we are. Nobody arsed about this season now. Very few if any of the players and the manager know they wont be here next season. Its just a patched up job until the end on Saturday. Only got around 13/14 players fit.

Cannot wait for it all to be over to be honest. I hear on the grapevine there are going to be serious changes in the summer.

Well DSL our manager has finally bite the bullet! Just checked spare bullet in the gun for Heath!

Well it will be interesting to see which players we retain, who applies for the manager job, and what sort of budget we have next season.

This year the budget was boosted by 86k from the fans, and Wright squandered it on players like Maddison, Hughes, Burn, Henshall.

We need to do better!

Well done Stockport, especially to those Stockport fans who have stuck by their club through the worst of times.

Really got to feel for Chorley though, if only that penalty had gone in at Spennymoor. Really hope Chorley go up through the play offs.

Congratulations to Stockport on the Championship. Just hope we can join them in the National League next season via the Play Offs. Will be difficult but at least we have home advantage.

Yes, Stockport and Chorley coming into this league will make it twice as interesting for us as far as fixtures go. It's impossible to fashion a derby out of Salford or Flyde. On the other hand, I'm thinking anyone but Brackley would be acceptable, as even Altrincham would be vastly preferable to that fixture.

Why would Halifax and us be a derby?
