Upgrade if you ask me from Richards. Interesting to see who he brings in and the style he plays. Under Richards the majority of the personnel were linked to Hartpury college and he played a very defensive game even against sides low on confidence and down players (East Thurrock at home an example - bottom of the league and down to 9 men we bring on a defensive midfielder for a forward)

The clown presiding over this farce must be spending Tamplin-sized amounts given all the overheads involved in running the club at Torquay with attendances of 150. The comment that the players prefer playing at Torquay says it all. How can the club be sustainable in the long term at this level?

I only booked a train ticket to Torquay three days ago for our match next month, as well as accommodation, and the match could be switched to the Sunday if Torquay reach the 1st Round of the FA Cup. Hope they make their minds up quickly.

Went to the St Albans Bath game - visitors won 2-0 in front of 1,400 including a healthy following from Bath.

Bath got 2 early goals and held out pretty easily.

2-1 win over Hampton today where we completely blew them out of the water in the first 20 minutes. Sharp, direct football where Hampton weren't given a sniff and they could have easily been 4-0 down (missing another penalty will do that).

I will give Hampton their due however, they disrupted our game and the second half became a battle of attrition. We even nearly went full 'classic Wealdstone' by allowing Hampton to equalise after they'd been reduced to 10 men.

Crowd of over 1,100 in today and thankfully the team put in a performance which may consider any new punters to give us another look.

Bitterly unfortunate to come away from Billericay with nothing. We unsurprisingly conceeded in the first half after an onslaught but second half we absolutely dominated. Hit the bar then the post then had a clear penalty not given. A positive performance anyway despite the result. Onwards and upwards hopefully

Simply stunned that the club accepted offers from a number of clubs for talisman striker Matt Paterson - who has now signed for promotion chasing Welling.

Pato was imho the POTY in the Conference League South with 22 league goals which definitely staved off relegation, but his goals in four rounds of the FA Cup will go down in club history taking us to within ten seconds of being in the hat for the third round proper!

As a club with little finances I suppose it's a business decision, but selling off your very best players leaves you with a skeleton of a playing staff and looking down the table instead of up.

Sorely disappointed, good luck Matt, you were simply awesome

Went to Welling v Gloucester today - Welling clearly a step or two ahead of their opponents, particularly in the forward areas. Paterson looked a threat through the middle, but it was L'Ghoul on the left who caught the eye with some excellent work to provide the first before belting in a ridiculous free kick for the second. Only 21, so would imagine someone higher would take a punt sooner rather than later on the kid. First trip to Park View Road too - it's not bad! Good little bar under one of the sides, and there appeared to be another in the opposite side as well. Great value for only £12 too.

PVR is awful really. Considered going down there myself today actually but didn’t in the end.

The new Wings sports bar is pretty decent in fairness.

Decent crowd of over 1,200 in today but Gary Johnson has got that Torquay side purring, nothing flash about them but covered the basics so well at this level.

I almost laughed when Dave Pratt gave the ball away which led to their third as I called it in the stand, what with four or five Torquay players on the break during the intercept.

As for us, it was an omnishambles but I’ll give it a pass for today, seeing something similar on Monday vs. Gloucester and I won’t be quite so forgiving.

Only consolation a crowd of 1,241, our third four figure gate on the spin for the first time since 1982. Around 250 visitors but again another failure by us when we have a big gate in. We have a number of people that come and watch us on the bigger occasion that never see us win.

Don't like the sound of this. They're due to visit Dulwich on 1st December in what could be the first game back at Champion Hill. (It'll be off if they beat Woking in the FA Cup.) The crowd could be close to capacity (3,000) but if we make it all ticket we have to offer the away club a minimum 700 tickets. We gave Maidstone 900 when they were on the verge of winning the league, it sold out, there was no segregation, and no problem.

We've never had a problem with Wealdstone home or away and each club takes 300 supporters to the away game.

You're probably right to be honest. I enjoyed it though - short walk from my mates house, cheap to get in and a mix of terrace & seating depending on your preference. Anywhere you can have a beer while watching the game probably does enhance my opinion of it though!

Dulwich would be rather naive not to segregate if you get that sort of crowd against a former FL side. Torquay's actual support on Saturday was pretty middle aged, but there were a few mouthy ones behind the safety of fences. In a 3k unsegregated crowd, that could become a problem that you don't want.

To be fair, Torquay are one of the better fanbases we’ve had at Woking. We often haven’t segregated 150+ of you and not been any issues.

Is usually better to be safe than sorry in terms of segregation. Reminds me when we made the ludicrous decision not to segregate 300 Grimsby fans and they dominated the terrace behind the goal.

Our YOOF are exactly the same. Will always kick off when segregated with tame home crowds or when hiding behind the police.
