We’ve signed Kelsey Mooney, a young striker for cover for when Liburd and Styche are away on international duty and a pretty big signing in getting Stephen Dawson, ex Bury midfielder (and captain), shame he’s not available for today. Will add great experience and quality to our midfield.

We’ve released Raheem Hanley and Simeon Maye to accommodate these signings.
A fully fit Stephen Dawson is far too good for National League North. Unfortunately, he wasn't fully fit last year according to my Bury supporting friends, so played little part in their promotion. Since their demise, he had been training at Rochdale.

Hope he does well for The Bulls, and that you lot make progress back to the EFL - always liked visiting Edgar Street.

Not a classic to say the least Nick. The one piece of quality won the game. Sure you guys will be fine
Should be but who knows. Tough old league. Leamington just can't seem to score at the moment (apart from the wild 3-3 away to Chester which makes things even more confusing!)

We lost 1-0 at Gateshead with a pretty toothless performance by the sounds of it. Several players out, just at a point where it seemed more were coming back! Just to top it off Harrison left the field injured and came back out of the dressing room to the bench on crutches. Gateshead have won their last 5 at home without conceding a goal now. Very impressive form there.

BPA at Evesham on Saturday, not the "easy" 3 points many thought it might have been 3 or 4 weeks ago....

Yep Connell has safe hands.

Really enjoyed the match today, we literally had 12 fit players to choose from today with Bascombe and Donawa on international duty, Hedley suspended, Thompson injured and of course the 3 longer term injured Holmes, Trotman and Atkinson.

Just goes to show what a manager we have the players are absolutely buzzing and growing in confidence and wanting to win. He's got them firing on all cylinders. Very enjoyable game.

I think Holmes has just had his knee operation done last Monday.

Kidderminster Harriers have been take over by a consortium of local people headed by Richard Lane.

Been a long time coming. Hopefully now we can move forward. It will be interesting to see how the new owners actually invest in the first team.

They've said we will be making signings over the next few weeks so hopefully a few new faces before our rearranged Farsley game on the 22nd.

Chuffed to pieces to be fair.

Interesting to see what we do now but positive news after the last year of dross and Gordon living in cloud cookoo land. Sounds like the stadium plans have been scrapped too.

Fourth v Fifth at the Impact Arena as we host Farsley Celtic at the Impact Arena.

We have something of the walking wounded about us. Only finished last year with 8 fit players on the pitch. Should be a decent game but really could go either way.

Tom Allan who made 116 appearances for us over the course of a number of seasons returns in the opposition. Will be nice to see him

I goal and 2 assists Lol.

Alfreton 2-4 Farsley Celtic
We were bloody awful at the back. Didnt win a single header in the box. Conceded 3 soft goals to free header and then our loanee keeper drops a complete clanger.

Ref was awful again and completely fell for Farsley falling to the ground at every opportunity.

We are in a false position. 1 win in 6 with away games at Hereford, Chester and York coming up.

The chairman basically confim`s the ambition is to get another 28 points to stay in the league.

Blyth, always finding ways to annoy us!

We should have won really, had enough chances to do so. To be honest if Asante had played he'd have probably buried a fair few.

To be fair Blyth looked a bit better than their league position, got forward well at times. Easy to get at though, their keeper couldn't catch a cold.

First signing in. Ashley Hemmings signs from Fylde. Really happy with that was Alty's best player when we played them earlier in the season.

To be fair, how ambitious can you be on gates of 3,4,500? The NLN has moved on a long way in the last decade.

He's mint and will be on big money after being at Fylde.

Kidderminster obviously being bankrolled above their natural means by the new owners then.

Just in time to play Darlo FFS.

Chambers and Hemmings running at us FFS.

Hard battled 1 nil win over BPA. We should have really got more, Jackson hit the bar with a header and Myrie-Williams should have bagged one but three points is all that matters.

Double blow prior to the game as Jeacock has broken his hand whilst out with the England Under 19s. He's gonna miss the rest of this year. Harrison broke his ankle at Gateshead so will be the same.

We signed Harvey Smith yesterday however, on loan from Bristol City, and he looked extremely comfortable at the back.

BPA didn't really look like scoring but they seemed good on the flanks and have tightened the defence up. Get a good forward in and they could definitely stay up.

Not sure we're being bankrolled quite yet. Need to wait and see if we bring in many more before that label can be thrown at us. We're 5th in the list of average attendances so far this season so I don't think this signing propels us into "being bankrolled above our natural means".

With Hemmings, I think that brings us up to a squad of 20, including three loans and five academy graduates after our budget was cut massively following the end of last season. We've been using youth players to fill out our squad all season and have been crying out for a few more bodies in the squad. Excited to see what he can bring to the squad as he looked good against us a few weeks back for Altrincham.

Ash is a very gifted player and we will miss him, but we cant afford to be paying a full time 52 week contract at the money he's on, we arent bankrolled and dont have a pot to piss in Plus he lives your way. Having said that, he isnt always effective and we were better upfront yesterday without him,.. but I suspect that was because Port were poor.

You're a well suported club for this level - but come on, we both know that is impossible to run a full time squad on gates of 1,400. Your old owner and new owners will have been/are going to pump money in.

We can't get near financing a full time squad.

We're actually playing a game today :ohm: Farsley at home, the first game under new ownership, first home league game in over a month. Almost forgotten what football is.

To be fair I get your point, but we do miss out on players who may improve the squad because they can get a better part time wage combined with the football at this level.

We get frustrated because we go for the younger players (who lack of experience at this level) who may not need that sort of money at that stage in their life with the plan to sell them on when they succeed/offload them when they get older. You'd had thought being full-time as a young player, you have more chance of unlocking their potential.
Truth is, recruitment at the club has been, bar the odd exception, has been shocking since we've been down at this level.
Old board did pump money in, but to be honest, it was invested poorly and sometimes even against the style of play the club tried to promote.

I personally would support going towards a part-time/full-time hybrid model to get the best of both worlds but don't know how easy this would be.

It'll be no secret that someone will be pumping some sort of cash into the club, like most other clubs, but as what the other harriers fan said, we won't be overdoing it. The squad which started the season was in need of much-needed surgery and bar one or two; lack experience immensely. Against Gloucester Pemberton couldn't even make a sub as we had literally playskool on the bench.

Not an exciting game at all but a solid performance from us. Never really looked like conceding which is rare. Hard to see why Farsley are where they are, only created 1 chance and that was in the 89th minute.

Soft penalty to put us 1-0 up but I'll take it, second was a scrappy goal but Ed Williams managed to bundle the ball over the line.

Feels like a breath of fresh air around the club now hopefully we can carry this momentum on but Kings Lynn won't be easy.

I'm not sure why he was on big bucks during his stint at Fylde. Other than being Boston's top goalscorer for the 2017-18 season with 16 goals. He doesn't really score all that too often you'll after hope he steps up if he's on good money.

Because made up clubs like Fylde have to offer big money to attract players. It stands to reason that he will have been big money.

He won't have been jumping at the chance to sign for Fylde for £400 a week and that extra special kudos that you get for playing for such a famous old household name.

Never understood that stadium relocation. Your ground is one of the best outside the EFL (and probably better than a lot in it). Was that a financial decision?
