What's a natural position then, hands behind your back is not a natural position is it. It wasnt a fucking penalty simple as that, if your football fans and you think that should be a pen you need to get a grip .

So considering the fact that pretty much everyone on here, most of social media, the pundits on Sky and Chris Sutton on BBC radio 5 live (just to name a few) think it was a penalty - but we ALL need to get a grip because blademan89 said “it wasn’t a fucking penalty simple as that”

I guess the referee didn’t give the advantage that you said he did btw?

But yeah, is a players hand in a natural position as he tries to hide his arm? Yes, it is natural - because as you hide your arm, you naturally move it behind something. By your logic, a player can stick his arm out as far as he wants and just say “but I was trying to hide my arm, it’s naturally how I do it”

Both incidents were handball and therefore either a freekick to Liverpool needs to be called or a penalty to City.

Like Mourinho is saying, the problem is inconsistency. If this happened week in week out, we’d say fair enough, that’s the rules. But in reality one week it is, one week it isn’t

Well if chris sutton thinks so it's a fucking nailed on pen then, if you go to var then it's a free kick to liverpool which is also a fucking joke, neither player meant to handball it did they? Just answer that question

Ha, expected you’d only answer one part of my post as justification that you’re correct - what a justification!

What does it matter if they meant it, that’s not the rule is it? And it hasn’t been for quite a while... Again on your logic, 99% of penalties aren’t penalties because they didn’t mean to foul them, they meant to get the ball, so it can’t be a penalty surely?

The lines they use, as imperfect as they are, did show him to be offside. They checked against Dier's toe and shoulder to make sure too. Well, at least I think it was Dier if I remember correctly.

Yeah, but just listen to yourself, I assume you're being ironic ?

Well I read views from 3 retired officials who said different things .

One said it was a pen, another thought not and the last thought it wasn't but the Premier league gave the wrong reasons.

Just about sums it all up !

Penalty all day! If you are making your body wider and preventing the ball for continuing on its natural course its a penalty! Without question at this point in the modern game every defender knows that when you are inside the penalty area you have to face any chance of a ball being played in your direction with your hands behind your back or glued to your sides. Running in with your arms like his are in that picture is joke, and you will have to be extremely gullible to believe anything else. I'll one further and say that any time the ball hit your hand due to poor control or technique by the player (which is today deemed as accidental) Should be a called as a hand ball also. Players should not be rewarded for poor technique which seems to be normal today.

By a big toe ? Wtf ? If Lundstram was offside why didn't the linesman give it ? The passage of play went on for a while afterwards and McGoldrick scores. It's only then that offside even came into consideration. A farce

His big toe wasnt even offside, Tottenham defenders head and shoulder was behind his toe unless I'm missing something and the head doesnt count, it was completely the wrong decision. In all honesty I think it can only of done us good for us to then still go and get a point as well shows lots of positives for us.

The VAR showed him to be offside.

No it didnt it shower spurs defenders head behind lundstrams toe, the var compared it to his knee which I agree his toe was in front, his toe was 100% clearly not in front of his head though

Theres the official var photo now do you think his head is playing him onside or not. Unless for some reason the head doesnt count I dont know but surely it has too

Come on mate, use your noggin. Think of the perspective difference between something at head-height to something on the floor. You see that dotted line from Dier's knee? Or the red line from the attackers toe? OK now draw one from Dier's head and his shoulder to the ground, and you'll see it's behind the line. Like so:

Hey, not sure wtf your on about, his head is clearly behind that original line. Have you just drawn your own line on at any angle.

It's exactly the same image as the one you used, I've just drawn red vertical lines down to the ground to show how far forward Dier's head and shoulder actually were. The only reason his head and shoulder look like they're beyond the line in that image is because of perspective. If he were three feet taller then they'd look even further ahead of the line, even though they wouldn't be.

What a load of bollox, why is lundstrams head not in front of the line then due to being higher

The yellow line continues on the exact same angle it was already on. The red lines are vertical, down to the ground. This really isn't complicated.

Cant see it working out, a club that doesnt spend fortunes, tries to bring lots of young players through and play exciting extremely quick style football. Everything Jose Mourinho isnt. He wont care though, another 15m a year contract apparently, pathetic.

They just have promised him money in the transfer window. Can’t see him going there without being able to bring a few players in.
