Googled him, and he appears to be a qualified coach, working with Rovrum's youth teams/player-coaching at Ossett. Spent 7 years playing at Hartlepool, so presumably likes the place. Also (per Wikipedia) has previous with Alfreton, so thought I'd get in ahead of DSL in mentioning him. And together with John Doolan shares the distinction of being one of the last players I've seen sent off for fighting - a proper scrap with none of this forehead nonsense...

I’m not Soup but I’d be whelmed by his appointment I think, did very well at Fylde with a big backing, the sort he won’t get at Pools and it’s also a pretty big step up in terms of clubs, not wanting to sound shitey but it’s true, there’s big expectations at Pools and managers that aren’t delivering get hounded out pretty quickly.

I'd have him. Yeah our budget isn't theirs but it's this sort of job that would tell us if Challinor can hack it without a massive budget. So if I was DC, I'd be applying for it.

Bentley and Fylde don't really seem a good match.

He'll have had his hands tied at Morecambe for obvious reasons but I can't imagine his way of playing is in keeping with how Fylde have been in recent years.

Great move for Bentley, mind. There seems to have been discontent against him at Morecambe for a couple of years at least (not quite sure what them people were expecting from him) and his budget, although perhaps less in monetary terms at Fylde, will obviously be much bigger relative to the league they're in.
