They’d just won the league and most of them were still pissed 2 weeks later. It was the only time I’ve ever seen Danny Rowe do anything in a so called ‘big game’. He bottled the playoffs 2 years running.

Barrow fans are really full of themselves at the moment.

In the second half of the season when Quigley gets injured, Rooney decides he can't be arsed and they fall back down to mid table and end up battling us for 13th I wonder if they will be so chopsy.

Think Evatt might still be tempted, but we'll see.

Lots of money from Fylde may tempt Evatt there.

Can see Barrow asking for plenty of compo

Can't see it myself. The only club at this level that I think would tempt him is Chesterfield, and possibly not even in the state they're in at the moment.

Smacks of desperation for us this. We should have a better plan than this surely

I was told on Wednesday last week someone had enquired about Evatt - it now looks like Fylde were trying even before getting rid of Challenor

Welcome back by the way

I actually think Fraser Kerr is the worst of the two. He’s been really poor and never looked comfortable for us. I questioned the Raynes signing coz of his injury record but he’s the only one who has any leadership qualities.

As for Higgy yeah he imposed a style on us but we don’t have the players to pull it off consistently and I doubt any tier 5 team would. Like you say his changes and team selections at times were baffling. As for the defensive structure it’s both him and Ged that look at it and obviously wasn’t working properly. I agree I’d have given him til New Year with some of the injured players back but ultimately I don’t think Hignett ball would ever work.

Thanks!

Agree Kerr does not look comfortable on the ball at all, which is an issue for a manager who tried to play football. However, I think he wins most of his battles, and generally is only out of position because Raynes is in no-mans-land. Aldershot could've had 3/4 goals on Saturday, all because Raynes was absolutely lost from a cross.

Raynes does lead, or atleast he tries. Maybe he needs to focus on his own game more, because if he continues as he is, it will be our biggest problem for the rest of the season - just like it has been so far.

How is going to champions elect Barrow a step down?

They won at Chorley! Give them the title.
i think he meant going to Fylde would be a step down?
we scored against Chorley - we deserve recognition for that - although we did also let them score one...

Sadly, I think Raynes is finished. He joined Crewe on a two-year contract and first couple of months we thought he was exactly what we were missing with his leadership and experience.

However, it quickly became apparent that he has absolutely no pace, made a few mistakes and never recovered. Within the space of about 3 months, he went from first choice to sitting on the bench and he pretty much did that until his contract was up (with a few loan spells). He did make the odd appearance but he needs two centre-backs around him. I saw Gateshead a couple of times last season and Kerr always looked decent at this level.

We thought that too last year in his brief loan spell with us, hence signing him full time. Sadly the things you allude to are common place so far. You'd think as these decent defenders lose their pace etc, they would make up for it with their reading of the game and/or positioning. Sadly, they seem to be Raynes' biggest flaws. Unfortunately, he will continue in our team, and continue to cost us goals.

Kerr, I think, suits a back three, which it looks like we will be sacking off. Unfortunately our two other centre backs are injured/injury prone, so if they do play 2 or 3 games on the bounce, it's likely they'll be out for the next one. It's the biggest thing we need to address, but sadly doesn't seem high on the priority list of anyone.

If Hartlepool fans aren't happy, just go back through his tweets and you're bound to find something sackable. He's unhinged.

Singh is still interviewing people this week according to the paper, would be very surprised at this, didn’t he once kick up a stink saying he applied for the Pools job only for us to turn round and say we never received his CV?

Deffo a few sarnies short of a picnic that lad.

The mail was reporting today that Aspin has applied. I’d even take Jacob Rees Mogg over Woodhouse to be frank.

Woodhouse is an absolute nutter, though you have to be to get in the boxing ring I guess.
