For some stupid reason I'm thinking of going to Bolton away

I'll be there, will we even make three figures for Burton or Bolton?
Just down to the mental cases like me traipsing all over the place to watch this shower.

Interesting username, I'd have thought you'd be loving the EFL atm :hypo:

That's what I was thinking. If the EFL were fit for purpose Bolton Wanderers would be enjoying weekends in the Northern Premier pyramid, at best, this season.
I've liked the EFL and FA for many a year, their ridiculously lenient rules have kept Southend United a paid up member of the football league for a good 20+ years now.

Surely 3 figures for our place.? It's about 3.5hour drive I guess.
If its under 200 we do not open up the terrace instead you will be in the main stand seating.

Will definitely be over 100 at Bolton. Burton hmm I’d really hope we’d take more than 100 but I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t. See us a club who never takes 2 figures away. Our support is better than that but just given the situation it could be this time

We've not been given any terrace tickets. As I said before one supporters coach cancelled and the trust one isn't full either. Unless the Midlands exiles turn out in force I'd be surprised if we have 100 there.

MK today, 4 weeks ago I would have said home win now we seem to have forgotten everything. Totally disjointed, no energy and no heart. Can’t see anything but another loss to nil.

Well we've just been torn a new one by Southend in the first half.

I'm not exaggerating to say we really could be losing about 6-0.

Coventry City 1-1 Ipswich Town

Fair result. Each side had a good half. Playing the 3rd time in a row on Tuesday.

Why are teams, usually from small towns, just so obsessed with the fact we are 'homeless'?

Genuinely feel bad to Southend fans. As much as they battered us in the first half, we did the same to them - only we finished out chances.

Up to 5th which is f*cking amazing, but I can't help but say I dont feel like we deserve to be after the 1st half!

We are dogshite at present however I’m really struggling to see how Sadlier’s goal was offside when two defenders were in front of Bingham who laid it off and three in front of Sadlier.

Deserved win for us over Sunderland. 5th home win in a row, all with clean sheets. The linesman very nearly let Sunderland off the hook by first ignoring the ball going over the line from a Hanlan header in the first half, to then ignoring the large figure of Charlie Wyke standing in a clear offside position late on, which was fortunately picked up by the otherwise shit as usual Andy Woolmer.

Late winner was no more than we deserved, and who doesn't love a 90th minute win?

First win this season against a team higher in the league than us. Not bad with one fit central defender and an outfield subs bench made entirely of home grown players.

Accrington Stanley had enough chances to put the game to bed by the 30 minute mark. Fortunately for us Corey Blackett Taylor rescued the day with some great work down the left flank. Thought we looked the most likely to get the winner 2nd half. Referee not the best!

Didn't think sunderland could be as bad as they were in the cup game but they really were, Parkinson setting up not to get beat rather than actually trying to win the game show how far they really have fallen

Our miserable away form continues as does as does our record at Bloomfield Road. I actually thought we could get something out of this game and while we went into the interval one down,we had more than held our own and were overall the better side
Come the second half the hosts were pretty much well on top and ran our deserved winners
Clearly Grayson has built the team around a strong defense, the worst team Fleetwood have played so far this season was M K Dons, they won 3-0 at Blackpool !

Such a strange one. In the first half you were the best team I've seen this season.

2nd half, just completely fell apart. Watching the highlights is a strange one, no one seems angry or frustrated, they just turn around and walk back to the centre spot like nothing happened.

Sam Ricketts is the latest proponent of anti football then with Shrewsbury and coupled with a very weak Referee, Craig Hicks, they got away with the constant cynical fouls. They got a burst of yellow cards at the end but if the Ref had dealt with it earlier then it wouldn't have happened. I just want to re-iterate that the Ref was utterly weak.

The time wasting was embarrassing for them, from literally the 1st throw-ins and when they were comfortably on top. Also, somebody needs to mention to their right midfielder if you throw the ball in from 30+ yards ahead of where it went off (the half way line is a hint as he was on the wrong side of it) it can get reversed.

The stupidity of Shrewsbury's timewasting and playing for a point after 20 mins was that our central midfield was makeshift* to begin with (James Henry playing the defensive role with 2 generally wide players in Anthony Forde and Mark Sykes ahead of him) and they played like it. We then lost Anthony Forde to 3 broken ribs (he went to hospital struggling to breathe) and then James Henry to a thigh injury so we then had to change formations. But Shrewsbury just tried to hang on to a 0-0 draw and we got on top after they let us get control in the 1st half.

We were unfortunate not to win in the end but Shrewsbury could have taken the lead in the 1st 20 mins and it would have looked totally different.

Sam Ricketts said in his post match interview he was happy with a 0-0 but considering our injury issues, before and during, it shows no ambition whatsoever. I just hope, even though he is an ex-Oxford trainee, he is never our manager as that football is woeful and horrible to watch. I've watched Ian Atkins style of play and this is far worse.

*The missing players yesterday: Gorrin (suspended), Brannagan injured, Baptiste injured, Woodburn injured, Hanson injured, Thorne injured. In the game Anthony Forde and James Henry so that is all our central midfield out.

I enjoyed the game yesterday, but also thought it emphasised why both teams are struggling. Accrington should have been out of sight by half time but were very wasteful in front of goal. In the second half we played decent football and were the better side, but created hardly any genuine chances.

The January transfer window is going to be very important to us.

I went over to Prenton Park yesterday and I agree with what you say - we started brightly but lost our way in the second half. I thought your substitute keeper had a good game.

Bolton (again) next in the joke trophy then Portsmouth at home on Saturday - if we can win that then this will be seen as a good point.

Southend in a nutshell right now, these players just could literally not give one shit. Doesn't help when one of the few that does goes off injured (Hopper).

As soon as Rovers scored in the 48th minute that was that for me, knew we'd lose. I have no confidence if we are 6-0 up, would still fully expect to lose 7-6, if not more.
Comments from Sol after the game were very telling, basically saying the players didn't do anything he told them and are just doing what they want.

I've now decided that we'd actually be better off just playing our youth team till we can ship these wasters out in January, rather see them concede 4 and try than these bastards not bother and still capitulate.
Rotherham at home will be fun next week, if they don't score at least 6 I think they should be embarrassed.

Don't know if they're part of the "few" or the "many", but Steven Humphrys and Ethan Hamilton both put a good shift in during their loan spells at Dale.

Hamilton's been awful, I keep waiting for him to put in a performance but he's one that just saunters about.

Humphrys I'm not sure about. He's been injured on and off most of the season. There are games when he has run himself into the ground and he's got goals in him but he also seems to be affected by the others when they down tools.
I'm also unsure about his effect off the pitch, lots of rumours about him being disruptive and I have to say I've never spoken to such an outspoken footballer when I've put questions to him after games.
If we do want him out though he's one we could actually get some money for.

We have some very tough games coming up, which will really prove our worth as a play off chasing team or a midtable team.

Ipswich (A)
Peterborough (H)

Wimbledon (H)
Fleetwood (A)
MK Dons (A)
Doncaster (H)
Rotherham (A)
Fleetwood (H)

Bolton (A)
Coventry (H)
Wycombe (A)

8/11 games are against promotion chasers (Ok Donny a bit off of form atm, but I expect them to be challenging again soon)

Also, a rearranged Sunderland game at home will also be in there.

Our next six are Tranmere (h), Coventry (a), Oxford (a), Ipswich (h), Posh (h), Sunderland (a), which aren't great on paper!

We're still lopsided in home and away fixtures at the minute - I think it's 7 home and 12 away and start playing catch up at home from mid-January through March. Only conceded 7 at home but 6 were against Oxford!

Gone from playing more than others to less now as well.

Still not really sure where we currently fit in either. Been a weird season so far.

By the time we play Ipswich on December 29th we'll have played 8 at home and 13 away, granted Bolton was postponed and Bury got chucked but it's very unbalanced.
Good day at Burton for my first Saturday game in 9 weeks! ( see above for part of the reason!)
Decent corporate facilities but I'm told the away terrace were a bit lacking.
Usual problem getting out after even though we waited 30 minutes and the crowd was only 3782.

Yeah it's not usually this unbalanced. Mostly from Bury & the increase of international fixtures starting to influence L1.

A few years ago you might get 1, maybe 2 teams having games called off. These days it seems like half the league!
