Awful to hear the news from Barnsley, will hope for good news but it doesn't sound promising if it was bad enough to merit calling off the game.

Fratton Park was a wet pit of pissed off fans for a lot of today, the game was close to ruined by the ref insisting on giving the most menial fouls and then bottling other key decisions (for both sides). A draw's probably a fair result all things considered, but Burgess costing us with another mistake despite having a good game is so frustrating. Still, today was a game we could easily have lost, so can't complain too much. On on!

Highlight of today was the round of "Akinfenwa, your tits are offside".

Delighted to finally get our first home win today v AFC Wimbledon. I thought we played some excellent football in the first half and deserved to be ahead. However Dons were much improved second half and it could have gone either way - great injury time goal line clearance from Mark Hughes and great to see Kee and McConville on the scoresheet.

Walsall away followed by Doncaster at home next up for us.

Sounds like we gave it a decent go against Posh, just got destroyed on the break.

Really? I thought we were by the far better team except for a crazy 5 minutes and even when we went down I was still confident that your back four were not up to preventing us getting more.

Your lad scored a cracker tho'.

Hope the guy who collapsed at the Barnsley v Burton game is ok - puts everything into perspective.

Aren't you a Wigan fan? 9,600 home fans when you're riding the crest of a wave, 3rd in the championship and have lost 2 out of the last 32 at home...stones in glass houses and all that

Always horrible to hear this sort of thing.

Heart attack or something I assume?

I can only attest to what I saw and that was commotion just in front of the away end right as the game was about to kick off, after about 5 minutes the players went back down the tunnel and the responders had blankets covering what was happening, after about 20 minutes an ambulance arrived but they didn't move whoever they were working on into it, after about 30 minutes the air ambulance arrived and on about 45 we were told the game was off. I'm no medical professional but it didn't look promising for the patient as i would imagine once he was stabilised they'd have got him in one of the ambulances and to hospital, I hope I'm wrong but from what I saw I don't expect good news.

Well chuffed with a point at Pompey where everyone thought we'd get hammered (Including me) :woo:
Hey Mowgli, you've seen enough matches over the years to know nothing is certain in football, excellent point for your lads , perhaps the springboard to a nice little run eh, ( exc October 2nd !! )

I was surprised to see Accrington not win the play offs when we went up

They’re a bloody good team who work hard and try to play football the right way

Fair play to them

what has Adams been moaning about this time?

It’s so satisfying when he loses

You think he would be used to that by now this season.

Our first goal was a foul on the keeper (it wasn’t)

It wasn’t a foul that led to our penalty (it was and we should have had another one in the second half which he didn’t mention, interestingly)

We didn’t deserve to win and didn’t cause them many problems (we had 23 shots and 16 corners)

Doesn’t sound good at all, hopefully the paramedics etc worked their magic and it’s good news.

Classic Adams.

Looking at the stats it looks pretty one way traffic.

It’s ironic considering Plymouth last season must have been averaging 1 penalty per game.

Looking forward to seeing the highlights

Club have stated that a match day volunteer suffered a cardiac arrest just prior to kick off - he is now in a stable condition thanks to the quick acting staff of both sides and the Yorkshire air ambulance. Thanks for everyone's kind wishes so far - let's hope he recovers.

Edit: having read the statement again I'm doing Burton's players and officials a disservice - the family and club have highlighted their work to save the guy. Thank you, Brewers.

I wasn't there.

But going on reports, we played ok, Posh were just clinical on the break. The highlights would back that up too, with the 3 Posh second half goals all coming through breaks.

I feared the worst at the time - so this is great news.
So another trip up to Barnsley for me now...

Crap game against Wycombe, ref was ridiculous, numerous fouls for decent tackles, or Wycombe players backing into Pompey players, and blowing the whistle. Wycombe were time waisting from the 30th minute too, which went unpunished.

Great result by us to keep it to a respectable 2-1 loss.

In all serious though good news on the Barnsley person, puts football into perspective.

No doubt you think it wasn't a penalty you'd have screamed for one if that push was on a Portsmouth striker.

It was undoubtedly a pen. As was the blatant push on Hawkins at the back end of the first half, as was the trip on your player in the second half before we equalised (I think).. so the summary is that the ref was shocking for both sides, not just us. A classic case of attentionitis for Craig Hicks.. he gave over 40 fouls ffs!

These decisions seem to follow Wycombe around unfortunately.
