Fairly content with a draw at Luton. 2 tough games against teams that were tipped as 'finishing up there' and we're unbeaten with some key players still out.

Josh Maja has been taking his chances which is a huge plus as he's looked increasingly isolated up top on his own. Our stand out player surprisingly has been Chris Maguire although having a competant goalkeeper in McLaughlin has been a huge relief on my nerves. A goalkeeper who can catch a ball, what a novel idea.

Next 5 games are Scunthorpe (H), Gillingham (A), AFC Wimbledon (A), Oxford (H) and Fleetwood (H) which are the games our fans will expect to win. I feel this will be the litmus test for the team and the fans alike.

Not long back from an away day in Bristol. Glad to get our first points on the board and its now 7 wins in a row v the Gas according to some on the supporters coach.

Its been a busy week in the transfer market with a number of comings and goings after what had been a quiet summer for us but hopefully we'll settle down now and find some form.

I must say I thought it was a good game I felt both teams played some entertaining stuff.

Mansfield (A) in the cup followed by Charlton (H) coming up next for us.
Well done on your win, you were by far the better team on the day.

We bloody always lose to Accrington, it's not even funny anymore.

For some reason we're always so bad at the beginning of each season - pretty much every season under DC has been the same. He seems to (who knows why?) tinker with players out of position and strange formations (which is what I thought friendlies were for) before winning 1 in 8 of the first games and eventually going back to our normal/natural formation and then the season really starts.

It's exceptionally frustrating.

In general though (especially the first half) we were absolutely awful. And that's a compliment to how good we were. We couldn't string a single pass together at all. Stefan Payne looks a hell of a signing at least

If your referring to HW you will learn he’s a wum so best ignored. Given the shite we’ve had to endure under our last two managers you should forgive us getting a bit excited I mean we are actually shooting at goal now. I doubt you will find any of us seriously thinking we will win the league or be auto promoted.
It must be feel good this season with a new manager and tactics so enjoy it mate.

We shall see. Currently we have not conceded but also weave not scored many. I'd be disappointed to lose to you at home so one of us is gonna feel let down.

Southend were by far the better team on Saturday. One point from the first two games without looking half as good as we were at the end of last season but zero concerns here. We always start poorly and give everybody else ahead start ha

Cowan-Hall and Kashket are early 20's mate not all of our strikers are claiming their pension just yet. i expect at least 1 winger/striker to come in on a seasons loan before the loan market closes at the end of this month.

Yeah, i think (before we signed McCarthy) that Ainsworth said he Waac looking for 1 permanent deal (done) and 2 more loans.

I think his contacts and eye for a signing have been pretty good so far, so we’ll see what we get. Still not sure why we re-signed both Bean *and* Bloomfield though.

Oh well. Like I say, a few thumpings are going to be on the cards for us this season - that’s OK as long as we can scrape a few results against the crap end of the table, or a few big-timers who can’t be arsed to put in a shift.

Bean was a mistake imo as was giving Blooms a 2 year contract extension i'd have given him a year even though he will have a part to play this season with others getting injured or suspended. Good to see Kashet warming up before kick off so hopefully he'll be back in contention soon.

He played tonight if only for the last 20 mins or so. Didn’t do a huge amount to be frank, but not expecting too much too soon. He looked like he was moving fine, and took a brave chip in the penalty shootout. Good to see him back anyway.

Not really an appropriate thread to post this in so may as well post it here.

We're supposedly up for sale for £14M. Not sure who in their right mind is gonna pay that for us.

There's been rumours for a long time that our chairman wants to buy Blackpool, this could be the start of that happening.

Swann would not be welcome at Blackpool. He defended Oyston even after everything he has done.

"Swann has been keeping a key eye on the evolving situation at Blackpool in recent weeks and he predicts the Oystons will try and keep control of the club if possible.

“I know the Oystons and I know Natalie very well as well as Owen,” he added.

“To be honest I think Owen will try and keep hold of the football club if he can.

“Now they’ve paid the £10m I think they’ll hope to get their appeal heard within the next six months and being honest, I think there’s a good chance the £31.27m figure could be reduced.

“I think the judgement was harsh. I was expecting between £10m and £12m so if they can get that reduced to 50 per cent they’ll probably look at selling the Travelodge."

Wimbledon at Oakwell on Saturday. Only other team not to have conceded a goal in first two matches but they've only scored once.

First time we've played them since 2002, looking forward to it.

Yep me too. Long day out. We are very solid at back and loom to be better this season than many expected us to. We are still a striker short in the squad though. This may be a trip too far. I'd take a point now

Our match on Sunday against Sunderland could get very ugly.

We look unfit, can’t defend, can’t attack, just look shocking. We have 4 points due to the inability of our opponents to put away their copious chances. I can’t see Sunderland making the same mistakes.

Need to try and put on a good performance at home as the Luton and the Wimbledon cup games were very poor. No ex Swindon Nathan Thompson, which is a shame as he was involved in an "incident" last time we played. Good to hear Ex pompey Ricky Holmes won't be fit for Oxford as you can guarentee he'd have scored. Will be a fiesty won and it won't finish 3-0 to us. I'm going for another tight 2-1

We're the same but we lost both because we've been shit.

So don't worry - you'll be fine.

We continue our tough start to the season by going away to Peterborough tomorrow. With the signings they have made Id expect them to be up there and with Evans they have a good manager too.

They have started well too so no excuses about needing to "gel" either!

Potentially no Hylton tomorrow either, whose niggling injuries are becoming a bit of a concern I think, he hasnt been right since about February now if I recall when he got his first injury.

Said this every game so far but id take a point and focus on our next period of games against less well fancied sides.

Really hopeful of getting 3 points tomorrow. If we play like we have in the first two games the wins have got to come sooner or later. See a stat on twitter that in the first two league games we've had 10 more shots than anyone in the league, 2nd most on target and conceded 2nd fewest shots on target.

Our best youngster and the only real bright spark from last season was arrested on Tuesday before our cup game, I can't see how it won't have had an effect on our team. That with 2 losses on the trot and negativity creeping back in among a fair few fans, I'd say now is a very good time to play us.

I'd take a point.

Outclassed, no other word for it. I doubt many will make Southend look like Real Madrid, but the lads managed it. No real chances, again!

Yeah, feel like I say this every single week. We miss too many chances and can’t play for 90 mins. Boring and predictable but then I remember it could always be worse and Karl Robinson could still be our manager.

Apart from taking the foot off the pedal for the last 15 minutes. We were miles ahead of Oxford who just wanted to foul us and waste time. Ben Thompson was immense for us and Lowe ran rings round the left back. Should have been a more comfortable win. 6 or 7 would not have flattered us. We do need to learn to see games out better as we let Oxford back in. To be fair to Oxford they changed things around. Henry got in some space and if it wasn't for the post it could have been a draw which would have been completely undeserved over the 90 mins. Robinson, derry and Mcmahan don't stop moaning!
