So since 1st October and when Steve Rutter became assistant manager, we’ve taken 31 points out of 36 available. That is unbelievable form; and it’s testament to the other two teams surrounding us that they’re still up with that. 2ppg may not be enough for promotion this summer.

Can't wait until Luton get brought back down to earth so we don't have to hear their humble bragging every week.

Portsmouth, the team actually top, don't even act like that.

I too find Kennys rather smug sounding stats quite annoying. We are good at the moment no need to ram down throats

Allow us to enjoy our moment - as for being brought down to earth, we certainly didn’t expect this and would be more than happy to be in the play offs.

You went up last season, you’ve had enough moments.

We don’t need to hear a new stat every day that results in the same conclusion every time, Luton are good.

I think it’s more the condescending remark about how other teams are doing really well to keep up with the might of Luton. In reality they are all just beating the same shit teams you are.

Other than that, I have no issue with Luton fans enjoying their side’s good run of form, it would be a bit weird if they weren’t.

To be fair, Luton are the best side I’ve seen us play this season.

Our game earlier in the season was a really good quality game in retrospect. Was very impressed with charlton that day especially first half. Remember leaving it thinking we’d be alright and safely confined to mid table for the rest of the season being able to compete and get something against a good quality side.

Couldn't afford to travel down to Southend today - a long journey plus we're away at Plymouth next week too. Very kind of the fixture computer!

Our club had some great news this week with Andy Holt buying the land the ground is on but our recent form in the league is very worrying now! Sounds like we created some chances but aren't getting many on target.

Fair play to the Stanley fans that travelled down, hideous weather, some points snow, some points sleet, most of the time driving torrential rain.
My son was a mascot for the game, which was absolutely superb, even the weather didn't spoil his time, he was drenched and freezing when he came to sit in the stand but he didn't care.
Met John Coleman beforehand, have to say what a thoroughly nice guy. This was backed up in the game when he made his team kick out a blatantly wrongly awarded throw in near to our penalty area.
https://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/1...p-of-accrington-stanley-manager-john-coleman/

As for the game Accy were the better team first half, they must have been baffled to find themselves 2-0 down after 25 minutes with our only attacks forward getting goals. It was a case of not taking their chances and Southend finally finding a team worse at defending crosses than themselves.
2nd half was a bit of a farce for both teams due to the weather. Accy playing with the wind couldn't play balls with any kind of pace as they either sailed out of play or skipped off the surface at pace. Southend into the wind had some farcical moments where balls went straight up, then straight sideways such was the swirling wind.
Theo Robinson was the bright spot for Southend, played really well, best I've seen him play in ages.

No mention of it on here but great result for Burton tonight in getting through to the semi final of the League Cup. Perhaps not that much of a "shock" given only last season they were at the same level as their opponents but a really great result for them and 2 really big occasions for them to enjoy coming up, with the money spinning opportunities that provides.

Slightly surprised they arent doing a bit better in the league, should be an interesting game with them on Saturday at the Kenny

Thank you for your kind words
Saturday maybe a case of after the Lord Mayors show and we get dicked - or we play well, given 10 first teamers where not played last night due to various reasons.
I predict a 3-1 loss as you are flying.

Fuck worrying about the league for your lot now, just make sure you don't get relegated. This cup run is one of the greatest achievements in your history, and the money it's going to make you will hopefully make you a stronger side next season.

Bizarly i'm not worried about the result on Saturday. Obviously love to win, but looking at the fixtures apart from Sunderland at home versus Luton's games, even with a loss I still think by the end of Jan we'll still be sitting pretty in the top 2. Saying that if we really want to be considered as Champions we need a postive result. Just seeing a few players getting abit leggy recently. KJ doesn't want to tinker with the side at all, but looking back at the last month or so we haven't altered our first 11 at all really. When your winning thats great, but both Charlton and Barnsley really made us work our socks off. Curtis and Hawkins are showing signs of it and unfortunately the way we play Hawkins needs to be putting himself about otherwise its like having 10 men. We are reliant of the front 4 playing well

I'd happily take a draw against Portsmouth on Saturday but Jack Ross isn't the sort of manager to play or even settle for a draw so I just hope we find an extra gear from what we've played so far. Our keeper McLaughlin may be out so Ruiter may come in and that fills me with dread, find the "highlights" of the 2-2 draw with Millwall last season if you're curious to why.

In the next 3 weeks we have:

Portsmouth (a)
Possibly rejuvenated Bradford City (h)
Shrewsbury (h)
Blackpool (a)
Charlton (a)
Luton (h)

Charlie Wyke should be back in the next week or so and with Watmore already back and January around the corner a few extra bodies will come in handy.

Fleetwood away to Gasheads tomorrow and boy do we need some kind of a result. 5 successive away defeats with some shite performances along the way. Light years away from our early season away form and something is clearly lacking, we go a goal behind in matches and its goodnight vienna. Rovers have nothing to lose from this ( well hopefully the result ) so all thing being equal a 1-1 draw will be an improvement

We're gonna get destroyed tomorrow.

Eoin Doyle has scored in almost every appearance against us in his career and he's guaranteed a hatfull against the worst defense in english football.

We will take our rightful place in the bottom 4 tomorrow.

I can’t call tomorrows game as it really could go either way. Pompey will be up for it so we will need to be able to match them. Safe trip to all the fans travelling around the country and hats off to everyone following their clubs at this expensive time of year.Haway SAFC, bring home 3 points please. Merry christmas to you all

Blackpool comprehensively beat us in the cup earlier in the season and are a solid side, one place below is in the table. We really need a result to avoid slipping away from the top 6 given the fixtures we've got over Christmas/New Year. We always seem to dominate possession/shots wise but don't stick enough away and get punished at the back. Be nice for that to change today.

Wow our team has reached desperate levels. We’re starting two players who couldn’t get in a conference team earlier this year.

Will be 3-0 at minimum.

Well done to the Gasheads, sounds like a thoroughly deserved victory against Fleetwood. The Cods managed to pick up 6 yellow cards, 1 red - dont know if the ref was card happy but frankly its a shocking statistic and questions should be asked, still the good news is Joey Barton kept his nose clean, after this display that shows great restraint on his part !

Lee Bowyer making a mockery of the manager of the month ‘curse’.

Another piece of piss 2-0 victory at home and we keep on flying.

Great 3 points at a tough place to go despite all their off field problems. Back into the top 6 courtesy of Oxfords 97th minute equaliser, cheers lads.

Another reminder that we, almost homeless Coventry City, are spending £500k on Connor Chaplin.

£500,000.

Pompey must be laughing.

Another good win. Slightly laboured as an attacking force, but enough comfort with our excellent defensive press all over the pitch restricting a decent looking football side to few if any good chances.

Eight games or the trot unchanged will be in doubt but if it does come to an end will be a little concerned to lose our Capt and heartbeat for any length of time. Is McCormack fit? Pelly scares me there with his occasional erattic distribution.

Goodness me Burton were one of the dirtiest sides I've seen down here in recent years. Countless occasions there were 'professional' niggly fouls. I've no idea who at the PA does the stats but there's no way the two teams were as evenly matched as that stat suggests.

Oh and we won at home... again.

I'd like to congratulate both Wycombe and Accrington for being the only two sides out of 27 to beat Luton at home in 2018 in all competitions.

Feel for the Scunny fans their team are total shite and that's coming from a Bradford fan. I said to Don a few months ago that they'd end 20 points above us, I was totally wrong it should have been 6 or 7 that's not been ott either we wasted a fair few good chances.

We've definitely improved but Scunnys incompetence played a huge role today. McArdles totally shot at which is a shame, but I'm glad we got rid.

Fair play to Alnwick who kept it respectable, the lad who got sent off was dire.
