Having had a few days to reflect on saturdays performance, I believe it was the most incompetent defensive display I’ve ever seen from an Argyle side.

How that game had 6 goals and finished 3-3 I’ve no idea. The appropriate scoreline would have been 5-1 if our defenders had any kind of ability and keeper could catch. Bradford’s keeper made a great double save too.

If Adams doesn’t get 3 solid defenders and a new keeper in January then we’ll go down.

Sorry Bradford fans but you were also hopeless and completely got away with it due to our charitable defenders. I think the outlook is certainly bleak for us both. I’ve never been so unentertained by a 6 goal ‘thriller’.

Have to say

Have to hold my hands up on Sonny Bradley being class at this level. Thought we'd mugged ourselves on his early season form, but he's looking absolutely great at this level alongside Matty Pearson.

Can accept the Jervis one now....... where we really did get mugged

I thought Portsmouth were supposed to be good?

:fish: On another day we could have scored 3 in that second half.

Tough one to take but Charlton were very good and two goals is always difficult to come back against. Utterly awful decisions from the ref and linesman prior to both goals though, not to mention this?

Just the way some games go though, can’t complain too much considering we gave it a proper good go in the second half and absolutely nothing went for us until the goal that came too late. Well played and sung Charlton. Again. Ugh.

Bucket, some advice. Ignore Lamby, he's the forum WUM and even other Charlton fans think he's a tool.

Tonight was possibly the worst display of officiating I've ever seen at Fratton Park. Ball clearly goes out of play before the second goal and the red card was brandished for Thompson is a joke. It's a fair challenge and he wins the ball. It's not even a foul.

That, on top of the numerous other non-decisions we got combined with some poor individual performances and not being able to force a goal in earlier in the second half despite the attempts makes it a bad night for us.

Interesting couple of games coming up at Barnsley and then the big one against Sunderland. Hopefully Thompson's red card is rightfully rescinded as we're going to need him.

Can't believe you let Ajose score.

It shouldn't have counted. The ball clearly goes out for a throw in before it. The whole ground could see it yet the linesman was so hopelessly inept (like the referee himself) that he let it go.

Decisions aside, Charlton were good in the first half, took their chances and then held on well under intense pressure in the second half. Always looked likely to add a third too as we were pushing so many men forward.

We were due a defeat. The big question now is how we respond with two big games coming up. Ben Thompson will be a big loss if the red card stands. It looks an unfortunate one, but it's rare that these things get overturned on appeal - unless it's clear-cut.

Seen it this morning and it was never a red.
Wasn’t even a yellow.
You should appeal it.
Hopefully the people on the the adjudication panel will know a little more about football than Lamby.

The red card looked harsh the ref seems to be behind the tackle, from his angle I can see how he probably thought it was 2 footed and looked worse than it was. Needs help from a lino there really.

Although judging by the picture above of the ball out of play, maybe the linesman wasn’t the best!

Made the last minute decision to head down there, very pleased I did. Another great away trip down to the south coast.

We were excellent in the first half I thought. Pompey fans on here have been talking about their defence but I think we found some weaknesses last night, pace being one. They couldn’t really keep up with Grant and are probably fortunate he came off before half time, could have seen him picking them off on the break in the second half.

Backs against the wall for the majority of the second half as was to be expected but defended brilliantly and young George Lapslie pulled off probably the greatest goal line clearance I’ve ever seen.

Expected a bit more from Pompey if I’m being honest, didn’t offer a great deal in the first half and second half you could see this was a side not used to losing, whinging about everything, going down easily and throwing tantrums when the referee rightly ignored it. Lowe in particular was petulant and Pitman was getting himself involved.

As for the two main incidents, the ball definitley goes out of play for the second goal but looks like Lapslie could have been fouled anyway so won’t lose any sleep over that. The Portsmouth defence still had a job to do and they totally fell asleep and allowed Ajose round the back, no sympathy there.

I’ll be honest and thought it was a red card at the time. Purely from where I was stood, looked like Thompson had his studs up and with Taylor coming off worse it looked as though he had been done. Having now seen a clip, it’s clear that it’s just two players committed to winning the ball and unfortunately for Taylor he’s just been beaten to it by Thompson and gets hurt. The decision had no bearing on the game though and you would hope it will be overturned.

Grant came off with a hamstring injury and Taylor left in a protective boot so whilst a great night and 3 points, it has come at a cost.
Hopefully the people on the the adjudication panel will know a little more about football than Lamby.

I should think so.

Last time we lost a league game we went on a 9 match unbeaten run in the league. 6 wins, 2 draws and tuesdays loss. Hopefully we can go on a similar run now. Would end up with us losing 4 throughout the season and ending on 107 points. Not going to happen as I'm sure we'll go through bad periods. I'll be more than happy with 2 draws out of the next 2 games

You’ll beat us on Saturday. I can’t get to the game and I’m actually glad about that.

Justice has been done and Ben Thompsons red has been overturned. Available for Barnsley and Sunderland. Ref should be banned for 3 games!!

Wycombe at home tomorrow. Not sure how to call it really, Wycombe are having a cracking season but a lot of that seems to be built on exceptional home form, whilst we've picked up on the road lately but at home we're still an enigma. Still, it's an opportunity to put that right against a side that are probably at around their peak league position wise at the minute. Score draw for me.

23rd and 24th in current form table at Roots Hall on Saturday in us and Accy. We have 12 senior fit players hard to see us winning at all at the moment. We was 33/1 to go down before the pompey match last weekend - what a price, I've had £30 on it, that will soften the blow if it happens.

Portsmouth are going to give us a right old rodgering tomorrow if we continue to play the way we have since beating Luton in October.

Jodi Jones out for the season, again.

That's the 4th ACL to go at the club in 14 months.

Ridiculous bad luck.

Coventry away for us today. A short journey so would expect a decently sized away crowd. Last season we managed to salvage a draw after going in at half time 2-0. A good result considering we don’t have a great record playing Coventry away from home!

Coventry not in the best of form it seems, and we are obviously on a great run but I’m always half expecting it to end!

Be an interesting midfield battle today, I don’t think I’ve seen Doyle have a bad game against us going back to his Portsmouth days, and he always seems to dominate games we have played. I think a draw would be a decent result here.

Not sure if we will make one or two changes changes today, thought a few were a little leggy and not at their usual best against Fleetwood which I think is natural given that 11 has barely been changed for a few months. Having said that I think we will roll with it until the run ends. Perhaps the trickiest decision is up front. Hylton looked really good coming on last week but would be harsh to drop either Cornick or Collins for him although the later has not scored for a few games, his work rate is a big part of what we are doing right now.

Not holding out much hope for us at Charlton. Joe Piggot's injured and LTB (sob) will probably score against us.

Loads of our supporters are doing the now customary boat trip along the Thames. Just waiting for a few pics to appear on Facebook.
