No problem with crowing when things are going well. When else are you going to do it?

Looks like we're in serious danger of losing top spot on Saturday. Tough game at Fleetwood.

Yeah I’m happy for the Luton lot to be honest. Must have been draining to fall from the Championship to non league so they’re as entitled as anyone to shout about recent form.

Another tough holiday fixture against a top end team for us on Saturday. After yesterday’s performance I’m looking forward to it. Three points is a must though really because I don’t think we’re gonna get anything down at Luton on NYD.

If we beat Barnsley on NYD, it’ll be the first time I think that the supporters will genuinely thinking: oh shit we might actually do this. They were the best team I’ve seen so far this year (and for a long time beforehand). I note were actually now favourites for the division with some bookmakers - I won’t be lumping in just yet!

We’re going to lose eventually - just enjoying the ride.

That was a very entertaining game. More of the same would be great but I reckon the roles will be reversed this time.

Getting Dougall back in midfield is a massive boost, his reading of the game is unrivalled (in this division at least) and also we’ve got a real poacher with an eye for goal in Cauley Woodrow, I mean Kieffer Moore has been great but he needs a lot of chances to put one away most of the time.

Tbf Luton have gone through enough crap to deserve the last 2 seasons.

Just don’t beat us (again) and I have no issues with it ;)

Quite! This run will end at some point and it could well be against Barnsley. They are the side that has impressed me most this season. A constant threat going forward and enough pace in their attack to worry our central defence. The onus will be on us to impose our game and put them under pressure. Should be a terrific atmosphere at a sell out KR which we know can lift the players.
First up though is Walsall away which is certainly winnable. Will be interesting to see if NJ makes a couple changes with the hectic Xmas schedule. He will not want to unsettle a winning team but at the same time resting a couple will stand us in good stead for the games ahead. Hylton for example could play and Reas injury means a reshuffling of our midfield.
The bookies making us favourites is purely based on the hype surrounding our run. When we lose a game the odds will change.

Well I certainly hope so, we are in a good run of form at home, its a good test of our credentials against the top team. Pompey will be looking to bounce back from the reversal at Gillingham and while I fancy us I can see this finishing as a draw 2-2

Got a bit of a feeling we might get beat today for some reason. I’m wondering whether Jones might look to make changes for this one with one eye on the Barnsley game on NYD resulting in us putting in a similar performance to the Port Vale game at this point last year. He hasn’t had one of his “throw the baby out with the bath water” type games for a long while, probably Peterborough being the last of those, but he has been vocal about managing the squad through this period and made clear he thinks the volume of games is “ridiculous”. We will see if he learned from last year but just got a feeling he might make a tweak too many. Without Rea again will also make this a big challenge perhaps.

Pretty much every game in this run I’ve thought “surely we are going to drop points sooner or later” so maybe add this to the ever growing “Fatty was wrong” list!

Well our lot were read the riot act after Boxing Day they talked about how to deal with Madden and then didn’t do it, McCann is expecting a reaction however our record against Gillingham is abysmal so if we take a point we will do well

Well the first time we beat Pompey 2-0 we followed it up with an insipid performance in a 2-0 home defeat to Southend. Just hope that doesn't happen again!

I'll go for 2-2 today.

Scunthorpe away for us,with them losing 7 games on the trot in all competions it looks good for an away win but Ainsworth is hinting on starting The Beast in a 4-3-3 formation which means more fuckin' hoofball so i'll be happy with a point. :ffs:

Our defense can't handle hoofball or any kind of attacking at all so you will be okay.

We will lose again because we can't score and we can't keep teams out, we're barely even a football team anymore.

Half our team is injured and it's mostly the good ones that are injured, wish the shit ones were instead.

Another big game after somehow failing to take any of our 20 chances! Also Nathan Thompson is out so gonna be a big test for Anton Walkes to step up in that RB slot. Need to not lose two on the bounce if we want to stay top.

Goal down now At Walsall. Bit of a test now as I really can’t remember the last time we went behind in a game! Certainly not in this run of wins that I can remember.

Annoying as the penalty came just as we were looking to be hitting our stride and control the game. A challenge that Stacey didn’t really need to have to make either as it seemed me that the player was just about to run it out of play and Stacey’s leg gave him the easy out. Definitely a pen.

Since that Walsall have done well defensively, especially tracking the attacking runs of our full backs which our usual method of controlling the game in an attacking sense. A couple not on their games today either, Lee in particular guilty of over doing it at times.

So 2nd half will be a bit of a test of our credentials.

Wow. We look clueless. Shocking first half with zero fluidity. Top three all behind at halftime is a little surprising but our only silver lining. Let's see what we've got second half. Mr Jones, get em going

Oops. Sunderland late goal - can't have it all

Looks like we’re similar to Luton in having a big test ahead of us in the 2nd half. So uncharacteristic of us to go 2-1 down after leading, and we’ve lost Lee Brown to a hammy or worse. We really need to have a big performance in the second half..

Should be game over and should really be a lot more like against Scunthorpe, great response after the ref robbed us against Sunderland.

Wow, that turned quickly. Dean Marney gets himself sent off and we bang in two quick goals. 3-2 up now.

Luton get one back. Wouldn't put it past them to bang a few more in now.

3 wins on the trot! What is going on?!

Cracking victory, deserved overall. We rode our luck at times and stole a 2nd goal completely against the run of play. After that we controlled the rest of the game.

Oxford look a poor team who are desperate for a striker.

And so the tradition of Oxford winning at ours & we winning at theirs carries on!
