Like I put in my report for our forum, that third goal summed your week up for me
Yep. Shambles. Many players Dan Bradley and our keeper George Willis are not playing to their potential at the moment. Seems our game sorry I mean defeat at Southport has been put back a week now. Certainly seems Harriers have their best side since they finished second in this league.

I shouldn't worry too much about Chester, we can't defend and we can't finish. We were lucky to play Kidderminster before they got into their stride. Doubt we're good enough for playoffs. Looks like we're going to be down here longer than Stockport.

I think we've got an half decent squad, but Bern and Jonno are clueless from a tactical point of view.
Don't think we've had anywhere near as poor a start as you're making out. 5 out of 7 games have been away and that's included trips to Gloucester, Spenny, Kiddy & Brackley who will all be up there you'd have thought. The two defeats were hardly deserved either.

Agree we've let some poor goals in and need to tighten up though.

Yeah, early days yet but it’s looking good so far. Sterling-James has been a revelation, but we’ve got a lot of steel now for the first time in godknows how long. The fact we’ve done Chorley at their place when we are usually their bunnies and Brackley at theirs literally for the first time ever is what’s hammering it home for me at the minute

Sad that 8 NLN could potentially allow fans in as part of being in Tier 2. Is there a list knocking about anywhere who they are?

We’re tier 2 and allowed fans is as well, although it’ll be around 1,000-1,200 as this 2,000 figure is a bit misleading, that’s the maximum not accounting for any social distancing.

Few fans are nervous about the Welsh border issue (goes through the Deva) as we had a drive through cinema event on the car park last month and the toilets in the stadium weren’t allowed to be used because they were on the Welsh side. However, turns out the event didn’t fall under the stadium safety certificate and needed a temporary events notice instead which is why it cropped up.

The Deva was deliberately built the wrong way around with the Dugouts/Directors & Sponsors facing the sun so that the offices were on the English side to avoid registration issues like this. Club aren’t expecting any problems so fingers crossed.

George Foster was No 2 last season, we played at Leamington and lost 3 nil in a useless performance and he did the interview afterwards, he came across completely clueless. Was never seen again.
Sounds like we are pinching one of your players today too. Rumours are is it Asante, what you reckon? I assume that will go down well

It is Asante, as I said a few days ago (much to Chester fan's annoyance) he wasn't on the wage they thought he was. He came because of James, the minute he went he was always going to go because that was part of the deal and why we had him on a "cheaper" wage.

Keep crying
I'm actually amused.

Asante himself stated he was offered more money on a two year deal during an uncertain time. He also went in to detail about his relationship with Rowe. Nobody is denying that.

A typical keep crying response sums you up though. I'm stating what is out there for all to see if you look for it, you're not.

It will go down well with us at least he won’t be scoring against us again this season, as the fans used to sing Asante plays Asante scores he has that goal scorers gift of finding space in a packed penalty area. Keep him fit and he will score every week we used to take him off in games after an hour if we were winning just in case he got injured, I do think a lot of the injury thing is in his head as he does seen to have missed less games lately.

Akwasi Asante lifts lid on reason for leaving Chester FC for Gloucester City
"But I had to make a call on what I felt was right for me and my family. I couldn't turn down a good wage and a two-year deal somewhere as I have bills to pay and a family to feed and football is my only income."
"There were other clubs to show an interest but when you have a good contract offer at a time like this then you have to take it."

'Cheap' wage though. :ffs:

Anyway, I do wish him well as he's a really nice guy and a cracking player. He was straight up with us about his reasons for leaving and I didn't see any Chester fans hold it against him either because of that.

He came to us for money, he left us for money, he left Gloucester for money. No blame attached, just realism. He will also want to play as high up the pyramid as possible.
I hope he does well, as he was great for us, if a little fragile at times.

I worry that in most of those games when we've done the hard work and scored, we've almost invariably conceded within minutes. With better games management we could be still unbeaten

Blimey. I dont think you realise how poor we are. If you think Bern and Johnno are clueless I dread to think what impression Billy Heath`s hoof would have on you. Time for some perspective.
We have some good players, but they are just not thriving under the current management. For instance when he first arrived here Anthony Dudley had 11 goals in about 20 matches, but since then he has been played out of position, dropped and used as a late sub and I just feel he's given up. We play with one up front even at home. Just awful tactics.

I think todays game will be key. We have an abysmal record against Gateshead ~ P11 W2 D1 L8. I think even a 0-0 will be a great result.

Yet again we've got back into a game that we were second best in and then gifted them a winner. The boy Goodwin came on near the end and did did more in his cameo than J Johnson has done since he's been here.

Gotta be honest I don't know how we've won that. We've had 1 shot on target all game and it was a worldie of a dipping volley from Sam Austin. Curzon battered us for the rest of the game but our defence held firm.

They say winning those sort of games are the sign of champions....3 points off top with 2 in hand and the best defence in the league at the moment.. At what point do I start believing this is possible...

Another howler costs us, this time a short back pass and their lad nips in.

Mind you, a point would have been the most we deserved, Gateshead looked quite good.

Is JJ not working out then? I'm genuinely not gloating / trolling, I loved him here, he was ace. I mean, he wasn't effective every game - a good full-back could get on top of him, but he was a really big threat in most games.

Yep he is pants. One of the worst forwards we’ve ever had.

I bet he’s in the papers already blaming it all on the fans at games getting on his case.

Do any of his former clubs fans like him? I still can't believe we got £20k for him less than a year ago.

Not particularly vintage from Harriers today, and credit has to go to Curzon for that, but a win is a win as they say. For years now, we’ve cried out for some steel and “balls”, and we have it. It’s not to the liking of some, but I can’t have any sympathy towards that point of view if I’m honest
