The thing is with Cassidy, for such a big bloke he is an utter fanny, I'd let him off for having no footballing ability if he was an aggressive shithouse but he is a total soft shite.

He can hold the ball up and that’s it,poor signing, the only time we have played well this season is when he’s been subbed.

He plays almost the entire game with his back to goal and rarely enters the 18 yard box. No pace or ability to run at players.

He's a bog standard mid table player at step 2 level who just keeps finding clubs too good for him through networking and a good agent.

Another howler costs us, this time a short back pass and their lad nips in.

Mind you, a point would have been the most we deserved, Gateshead looked quite good.

We haven't won at home yet, and Gateshead are our next opponents. I'm thinking we could be in for a good hiding, in form team with 13 points from their last 5 games.

We have some good players, but they are just not thriving under the current management. For instance when he first arrived here Anthony Dudley had 11 goals in about 20 matches, but since then he has been played out of position, dropped and used as a late sub and I just feel he's given up. We play with one up front even at home. Just awful tactics.

It could be just now that the management are surplus to requirements, and enough is enough and it's time for a change.

They did catch us on a serious off day I think but were good to be fair.

They blew us away in the first half but then blew up themselves in the second as we got back in to it. The winner a few minutes from the end was just our cock up, Grand played a short backpass to the keeper and Langstaff just nipped through and slotted it in.

It is Asante, as I said a few days ago (much to Chester fan's annoyance) he wasn't on the wage they thought he was. He came because of James, the minute he went he was always going to go because that was part of the deal and why we had him on a "cheaper" wage.

So for instance, just in general then. How much was Asante earning at Gloucester?

Those short backpasses annoy the hell out of me, just know what's gonna happen. A draw would have been a fair result.

Yeah looking at their recent form, they are looking good.

Is JJ not working out then? I'm genuinely not gloating / trolling, I loved him here, he was ace. I mean, he wasn't effective every game - a good full-back could get on top of him, but he was a really big threat in most games.
I think it would be better for him and us if he could sort out another club. I've yet to hear anyone say he had a good game. He has no physical strength, he can't beat a man, rarely finds the target when he finds space to shoot and more than 50% of his passes go astray.

They are contracted until the end of next season. I just had a mate text me and he basically said ~ I don't mind us getting beat, but we have no order, no plan, can't defend and leave our striker isolated. Gateshead were better all over the pitch which is worrying. They now are in a big list of teams which are our bogeys. Fortunately most of them are now in L2 or NL.

Who's going to win this league now? Gloucester have been found out now Asante has left, as have York (although they have a big bank balance to put it right). Boston maybe, or Kidderminster? Interesting league this season. Our best may be to sneak into the play-offs, but unlikely under these pair,

Alfreton are crying out for someone to hold the ball up. I`d take him.
He can’t even do that. Think the York fan is trying to be nice.

Just a talentless gobby prick in all honesty. If Alfreton need someone like that he’s your man.

Another good result for Leamington. Worrying start to the season but seem to have turned a corner now. All goals early in first half!

Hardly found out, we've got half a squad out at the moment! At Gateshead we literally had 2 outfield players on the bench and lost due to a keeper cock up. Asante gone but the lad brought in (Campbell) scored on his debut and looked a handful, can't ask more than that. Need players back though (McClure and Whittle injured, Gunning and Robert playing but probably shouldn't be, Dawson suspended, Carline sulking..)

Well done Nick. Goodness the York keeper looks worse than ours. I wish we could hold a lead like that. We've dropped a lot of points this season already from winning/drawing positions.

York keeper certainly not the problem, brilliant last season and got in team of season.
Yorks problem is a lack of games and started very slowly, plus the fact they don’t have a goalscorer.Dyson,Redshaw & Bunn all are a improvement from last season but all are number 10s.
Leamington screening is a joy to watch after the efforts of other teams,

I've seen more online Leamington games than live Chester games in the last 8 months. Great commentary and at the end a very entertaining assessment from Mr Holleran.

Jesus. We have absolutely no chance tonight. No Reeves and no James Jones against his former club. Minimum 3-0 Chester.

Half time 0-0 and it’s fair to say Kettering look ugly as sin... which should come as a surprise to nobody with Cox in charge and Kyle Perry up front

Disappointing defeat tonight. Their keeper made a cracker of a save at 1-0 not long before they doubled the lead. Too pedestrian from Harriers, but let’s not lose sight that it’s a good start

All about just getting three points for us tonight. Scrappy game and 3-0 flattered us a bit but it was comfortable.

Well looks like we’ll have the customary 2 weeks on the sidelines as one of our squad tests positive for Covid. Wishing them the best but frustrating to think we might lose 4 games and fall behind in the fixtures again.

Meanwhile this topsy turvey league season continues, Guiseley, Kettering and BPA with the results of the night. Who knows when we’ll be able to look at the league table and it will show an accurate reflection of where everyone’s at.

Fylde, Kidderminster and Gloucester all made good starts. But for me the job Bower has done turning BPA into a mid table side looks very impressive. Surprised no one took a chance on Knight over the summer seems a good player.

No way, Kyle Perry is still playing? At this level?
Edit - just read he supplied the cross for Kettering's first

Yep, signed for Kettering in time for Saturdays game. I’m as surprised as any that he’s managed to get a move to this level, but we all know Cox likes a big physical lad up front and he certainly fits that bill

Frustrated to concede at that death again.
Same as against leamington. BPA looked a good side though and a draw was probably a fair result

Ha, just googled and he's only 34! I thought he'd dropped into the glue leagues a while ago.

Ooh, he did frustrate me when he played for us. I'm sure he could head a ball ball harder and more accurately than he could kick it.
