The best triallist I've seen for us was Danny Racchi, a couple of years ago - looked incredible on the ball and then signed for someone a couple of divisions lower.

The only one that I can think of that was a reasonable success was Kemy Augustien, who played in a trial match and then signed a month-long deal. Scored the best goal I've ever seen at Holker Street and then his agent fucked up the rest of his career for him.

Made me think back that about Augustien. The best thing about it was some crackhead striker who was serving a two year drugs ban tried to imply Barrow were at fault.

As far as I was aware at the time and believe it to be true, the fall out was because we didn't want to reimburse the agent for staying in the Travel Lodge! I'm sure there was more to it than that, but we were better off letting him leave in the long run.

Who's the best pre-season triallist people can remember that their club has had in terms of how they did after signing?
We’ve had a few really good ones...

David Wheeler was on trial, nearly lost him to Dagenham but he signed the day before the season started. Ended up selling him for £600k

Jamie Cureton who scored 20 goals in L1 following a trial with us, was pure class even at 35.

Christian Ribeiro was also excellent for us for two seasons after originally joining on trial.

We've got West Ham U23s at home on Wednesday and Gillingham at home on Saturday which has only just been announced, neither game will be streamed.

I'm guessing now clubs won't want future opponents scouting their games via a stream :bg: which is why our last two games won't be streamed and most other clubs I'd imagine!

We have Bishops Stortford away on Monday - But I'd imagine that will only be youngsters and first team players short on minutes due to injuries. I might go to that if they allow fans in.

Mind, it’ll be interesting to see how we line-up.

We're playing Tiverton this evening. Hopefully a better result than the tedious 1-1 draw with Taunton the other day.

300 fans are allowed to attend the game.

Not you though, (unless you're reffing it?)

I haven't reffed in ages, do keep up fella. I know you have some weird obsession with me but it is awfully peculiar your persistence on years/time/maths. Not sure why you wanna keep bringing something up that's made yourself look daft on so many other occasions with your failure of learning simple arithmetic. Now how about you stop trolling because I ain't biting again, and keep on topic. There's a good lad :2thumb:

Chomp.

You're confusing me with someone else Lad, not been me that's been ripping your bullshit apart on here.

Just thought I'd join the party.

Most seem to have grown up, you appear to have arrived late to the party and are now the only one there. Let me know when you've grabbed your coat and let yourself out :gmc:

FWIW - 25+3-10 ain't 14/15. Now maybe you'll drop the nonsense and admit you're being a bit of a cock for the sake of it.

You can fact check me here:

Time to go back to actually talking about pre-season friendlies....

We apparently have 3 trailists tonight some are saying, all different to the Taunton match too. I think Matt has been given permission to increase his budget following the windfall from Chrisene.

Charlie Adam playing in our friendly vs Wigan this afternoon. I'd be rather pleased if we can bring him in on a deal for the year, his patience and ability on the ball would be ideal against teams that may sit back more against us.

HMS P**s The League has well and truly sunk. National League here we come. We may as well give up now, no point playing the season. Evatt out.

Ended as a 1-1 draw for Crawley v Watford u23s at Horsham FC (we train there). Nadesan our scorer. Gave away two penalties in the first half Morris saved the first but not the second.

Back line of Tony Craig and Joe McNerney looked too vulnerable to balls over the top

Second half was very dull. Lots of changes, lots of trialists. Francomb went off early. Looked like a knock.

No sign of Lubala, Morais or Young. If we manage to sell one we could do with a proper centre forward.

Wigan 5 - 1 Bolton
Carlisle 2 - 1 Wigan

Ergo, Carlisle would beat Bolton by five clear goals.
hehehe, if our kids and trailists played you definately, 2 seniors in first half and two seniors in 2nd half, not sure what the point was if it was kids and trailists but first loss in pre season, and Evatt would have learned nothing from that, but we have been boasting about pre season, so deserve some stick now :)
