We drew 1-1 at home to Preston. Fairly happy with that.

Wigan 5 - 1 Bolton
Carlisle 2 - 1 Wigan

Ergo, Carlisle would beat Bolton by five clear goals.
We lost 3-1 away at Sunderland this afternoon. So that ends our title dreams as well. Back into the relegation mire.

Still a bit to do in an attacking sense but given Preston played competitively much more recently it’s a decent result!

So we get beat by northern premier league Warrington town and then draw against championship Preston. That’s pre season friendlys for you.

0-0 draw for the mighty U's at Gills. It was streamed live on yt but I had to give it a miss. I could be wrong but I think today was our third friendly after the 2-2 draw at MKD and the 2-3 loss to West Ham's u/23's*, though the latter game was one of those pesky 30 mins x 4 matches and WHU scored twice in the final 8 minutes so afaic we beat them 2-1 ;)

All very promising so far and I think we're in for a good season. We could even finish above Oldham , Morecambe and Crawley :ohm:

Just listened to Evatt’s thoughts after today’s match. Sounds as if he’s realised how average the back end of our squad is, and every player is going to be needed this year.

No idea how our game against a full team of trailists went, nothing from the club or local newspaper yet (Grimsby Telegraph).

Most likely ended 0-0 with loads of injuries.

Defended well, very organised.

Think our pace stopped you getting out on the counter but that should be less of an issue in the league.

Didn't realise Michael Jackson was your manager, top defender for us.

I remember Michael Jackson being an integral part of that very good David Moyes North End team. Was half decent for us too when we signed him from you.
Replacing Micky Mellon as manager is going to be a very tough job for him though.

A very weak Scunny team lost 4-0 to Lincoln, how we already have 3 of our starters out injured is beyond me.

Won 2-1 against Tiverton tonight. An incredible free kick from another home grown city player to win the match.

I was going to ask how strong it was because it looked devoid of any real quality. I know PSF's are just glorified training sessions anyway but at times it was slower than that.

We started with 5 or 6 out (rested, not injured) albeit 2 or 3 came on for the last half hour.

Rory Watson, our terrible goalkeeper, Jacob Bedeau and John McAtee are the only three that started that will probably start on the first day. It was a very weak team but we're not a great side regardless.

We were due to play Mansfield on Saturday but we're now heading to Oldham because the former have their cup game against Preston.

I was at our friendly vs Tiverton tonight, and it was so good to be at a live football match again!

It was a mix of young players, seniors and a couple of trialists who were both left backs (Lewis Page and Bradley Garmston).

We won 2-1 and it was a pretty good match to watch. I really enjoyed seeing some of our young players who will be a big part of the squad this season. Some look very good and others maybe not quite ready.

Our goals were scored by Matt Jay and a young lad called Will Dean who put a free kick into the top corner to win it late on.

Got Forest this afternoon. Believe it’s their first team squad we are playing rather than the under 23s.

Unfortunately no streaming so will only get a final score. Hopefully Manny can get some much needed playing time.

At Loughborough too so literally down the road which is annoying with us not being able to go!
