I think you need to look a bit closer to home. There is a single thread about Chester on RP that was last commented on in March, whereas I've just checked and you've got 3 currently active threads about Wrexham on Deva Chat- one about our manager and two in off topic.
Some of our fans bang on about Wrexham all the time, I know that.

Your fans do the same but pretend that you don't though to try and look good.

You've been taken over by Hollywood film stars, splashing cash and favourites to win your league but all you talk about is us. I mean, tweeting some fake story about us on a pre-season training camp. :ffs:

Football fans on twitter are the worst of the worst. I wouldn't pay any attention.

Besides as I've pointed out, we aren't talking about Chester. No-one cares anymore, you are shrinking in size every season and are probably never getting out of NLN.

Considering Stephen Vaughan destroyed Bangor City its a bit stupid to gloat.

No that was a load of bollocks didn’t happen.

Indeed, proven to be completely fake news created by some Wrexham fan who like a lot of them still have eyes more on us than their own club, despite what's going on over there.

Fair enough, it was only what i heard. Hope you softened up the Owls for us, we also have then in pre-season

chipmunx can you confirm this?
Wrexham get an occasional mention on our club forums, mostly about Deadpool and the scriptwriter buying them. Chester haven't been mentioned since they got relegated from the NL and we hammered the final nail into the coffin.

Sounds like we are done with signings for 2/3 weeks. Currently 16 players which includs Stenson who is out till Christmas. 4 more signings is the plan that will be picked out of a bunch of trialists. How inspiring.

Hopefully A Trialist will bang them in for you in pre season

Unfortunately, it's not attackers we need. It's defenders. Wild has confirmed one will be a backup keeper. I'd guess the other 3 will be a CB, RWB and LWB based on who's left.

I wouldn't be against another striker though with Stenson being out till Christmas and Hyde being injury-prone himself

Add Dion Kelly-Evans at right back, signed a new deal today. A bit of a relief that, good to not have another position to have to look for. Very solid and consistent, hopefully Burchnall can improve him going forward.

And Joel Taylor at left back from Chesterfield. Means we can now field a team with people in their proper positions!

Slocombe
Lacey - Rawlinson - Cameron
Kelly-Evans - O’Brien - Vincent - Taylor
Rodrigues - Roberts
Wootton

Central midfield still needs strengthening (not sure either JOB or Vincent will be starters come opening day), but otherwise I think that’ll be our strongest eleven.

I think the back five looks strong (and we have real strength in depth there with Chicksen and Brindley not making that team), and the front three is party time stuff if Cal is actually fit this year. Need some better cover for Wootton still, though.

Don't understand the need for a dig there, but these 2 clowns like to take a shot now and again at the Gaffer. He put together a superb squad last season and he's kept the bulk of it, including the steady spine of the team (yeah the BEST players) Any additions are just tinsel on the Christmas tree. Why wouldn't be take a look at them before he signed them? Clown! :bdick:

Swap Vincent and O’Brien for Francis and Palmer

After a busy couple of days, we’re about there. The earliest I can remember is getting our important business done tbh.

Goalkeepers:
Sam Slocombe
Tiernan Brooks

Centre backs:
Connell Rawlinson
Alex Lacey
Kyle Cameron

Centre back/full backs:
Richard Brindley
Adam Chicksen

Wing backs:
Dion Kelly-Evans
Joel Taylor
Aaron Nemane

Central midfielders:
Ed Francis
Matt Palmer
Frank Vincent
Jim O’Brien
Michael Doyle

Forwards/attacking midfielders:
Ruben Rodrigues
Callum Roberts
Lewis Knight
Elisha Sam

Strikers:
Kyle Wootton
Tyreace Palmer

I think we’ve done enough to say we should be genuine title challengers this time, particularly if we can get a genuine alternative to Wootton in. Even then we’ll be behind Stockport and Chesterfield in terms of the options at out and out centre forward. But our joker going forward is the Rodrigues/Roberts double act, which will hopefully work because they’re both really outstanding talents and could cause absolute havoc. Otherwise we’ve managed to bring the average age down and seemingly deal with the lack of pace/energy issue that plagued us for much of the last two seasons.

Expect this to be our starting xi to begin the season now:

Slocombe
Brindley - Rawlinson - Cameron
Kelly-Evans - Palmer - Francis - Taylor
Roberts - Wootton - Rodrigues

Only a month of training and five weeks of friendlies to get through, believe.

To be honest, I think it might be the case that we tried to rush him back for the end of last season and maybe didn’t do the proper rehab work needed and decided not to go for the operation he’s now had. We live in hope.

Wasn't even through a challenge or physical contact with anyone though, he threw his leg out kicking the ball, presumably what he would've been doing in training, which would make you wonder if his body just isn't up to it.

Wasn’t his leg, but some kind of bizarre injury relating to his hip flexor (which he’s now had an operation on). We’ve kind of hinted that it may be something to do with the after effects of Covid as well.

I think we were deliberately not training him at game intensity to try and get him back before, I’m guessing the approach is now the opposite and he’s not going to play a match unless he’s coming through full intensity training sessions.

Updated after 3 recent signings

Goalkeepers
Ben Hinchliffe
Ethan Ross

Defenders
Sam Minihan
Macauley Southam-Hales
Ash Palmer
Liam Hogan
James Jennings
Mark Kitching
Jamie Stott
Ryan Rydel

Midfielder
Jordan Keane
Lois Maynard
John Rooney
Ryan Croasdale
Will Collar
Elliot Newby
Connor Jennings (long term absentee)
Ben Whitfield
Tom Walker

Strikers
Alex Reid
Paddy Madden
Scott Quigley

Rusk was pretty set on 3-5-2 last season as it worked out pretty well. He has hinted a couple of times at being more flexible in terms of formation going into the new season so maybe we'll see a 3-4-3 or maybe a 4-2-3-1 type formation.

Either way, squad is looking strong. Probably need another CB and holding midfielder to complete the squad.

Still no word of Ben Barclay from Accrington. Loads of people saying its a done deal but nothing yet from the club.

Is there much news coming through about Kitching, I thought that he was our best player until he got injured.

Think this is us atm

Keepers
Scott Loach

Defenders
Alex Whittle
George Carline
Gavin Gunning
Haydn Hollis
Laurence Maguire
Jamie Grimes
Fraser Kerr
Jeff King

Midfielders
Liam Mandeville
Curtis Weston
Joe Rowley
Manny Oyeleke
Jak McCourt
Saidou Khan
Calvin Miller
Jack Clarke

Attackers
Tom Denton
Nathan Tyson
Danny Rowe
Kairo Mitchell
Akwasi Asante
Stefan Payne

So 23 on the book and still expecting Rowley & Mitchell to move on, maybe even Denton albeit on loan to get fit after his long injury and our lack of reserve side.

We still need CB cover as only have 5 on the book, 1 of whom is out until the new year (Hollis). We had one on trial from Bournemouth on Sat, no idea what he was like though. Obviously need a back up keeper too. I'm saying 3 out 2 in before SOS

He had an operation on his back about a month ago - no word on recovery time.

Also new year apparently. Will take him a while to get back up to speed as well - i'm almost discounting him from our squad this season, hard to see someone coming back from an ACL and being bang at it. Such a shame as him and Rowe would tear this league up I feel.

If I was being greedy I’d still like us to get, to set us up nicely would be…

Back up GK
CB (Cover for the Rawlinson role in the centre of the back 3)
CM (One of the current trialists) - Like you mentioned previously, so Doyle can put all his focus into coaching
Kyle Bennett (to cover Cal)
ST

That would set us with a 25 man squad
