Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Chester home today, am getting to my second game this season……expecting litttle.

Just not impressed this year, far far too negative an approach although we may have to stick with it for a season to see progress, I am assuming he wants curzon back to the days of flanagan when curzon were the best passing non league club in England and played constant possession game regardless of effect.

But that takes time to gel and at present we seem to create very few chances at all in the games, but shall see today, it failed miserably vs Banbury who forced us the. Into long balls to no one but we are a few games in now.

Worry not. We have become your whipping boys. I don't see us winning another game until Southport at home and that's not a given.

It’s a bit early in the season to throw the towel in just yet, this has been as bad a start to the season with injuries as I can remember but we have lost 3 games by a single goal and Lady Luck is definitely against us at the moment.

Not worth me going today then, given that we have already given you the 3 points apparently :dk:. We haven't got Louis Gray to present you with a winner this time round, so I am hoping that we finally get a bit of luck go our way this season. Looking forward to it really!

After taking the journey to Alfreton today I was extremely impressed with us.

One thing I’ve always said is that we are a tough team to beat and today we have shown why. Alfreton were consistently frustrated by our solid back line.

We created chances and took our opportunities.

We’re not the most fashionable team, but we are tough to beat!

(Next game watch us get beat by many) famous last words.

Terrific result at Alfreton, just dont understand how we are so poor at home. Only 1 change from the BPA game yet we get a result like that, crazy.

Some enforced changes today but it seemed to do the trick. Always thought that Burke should play DM. Murray also put a shift in. Well deserved too!

We actually turned up today, seemed like as soon as we scored Hereford gave up and we really should have scored 2 if not 3 or more..If Hereford are relying on Tyrone Barnett to score the goals they are potentially in for a long season. Great to see Tre Mitford come good too, hell of a save to deny him from a acrobatic volley as well..Still not sure how the keeper kept that one out. Need to follow this up against Curzon next week though.

Phew, much needed win.

Shame to hear we've lost Dec Weeks for over a month though after getting crunched on Saturday. Hardly any players left now. Could do with at least one of those reds from Saturday to get rescinded really.

Not the greatest game to watch pretty flat most of the game, but a wins a win and I'd take these hard-fought 1-0 results all day long. I thought Farsley weren't much of a threat.

We just couldn't get out of first gear, I thought once we took the lead it would be plain sailing.

And that stroke of luck came with a dubious penalty, but like Alfreton away we don't like penalties.

And then came part two of our stroke of luck, deflected shot sent the keeper the wrong way.

I thought Lawlor was quality in defence and Beck did a lot of hard work up front and tracking back to help the back line.

Have we appealed them?

Was waiting for our bubble to burst before posting back on here (as one of the defectors to the other site when this one seemed permanently down), but no signs yet although still very early days.

Went to the game yesterday and can see why PS will cause teams problems, particularly at their place this season and they were the better team first half but missed a couple of good 1 on 1 chances. We improved second half and a draw would probably have been a fair result but we snatched it with a fantastic strike from Barrett which deserved to win any game.

We are a different proposition from the last time we were in NLN, we don't pass and move the ball anywhere near as well but we are much, much tighter at the back and more 'workmanlike' across the team and I think staying full time means we will keep going for the full 90 which may see us nick results at the end of games.

Glad to see that useless prick Paul Cox is doing a good job this season.
Do they get a player sent off every week.

Great to hear the Harry Mac singing 0-3 and you fu*ked it up to the Kings Lynn supporters in the second half, that said they are a good side and will be in the mix for the title at the end of the season.

Abject performance against Curzon, players that seemed to put their bodies on the line at Hereford a few days ago couldn't be arsed today. 42 Leagues games and we've won back to back games once. Mansell is on borrowed time now, we are so boring and defensive to watch, booed off for the second successive home match and the gate has shrunk to alarming figures. I really want him to turn this around but I get the feeling he'll be gone soon

To add to this, 3 down and with 5 mins or so to play we had a throw in close to their box. We actually waited to swap players over to take it. Then a minute later we passed the ball all the way back from winger, to midfielder, to left back to the keeper. Cue boos. No urgency whatsoever. One of the worst displays I can remember.

Excellent comeback to get a much deserved point against King’s Lynn. Game of two halves alright.

Very slow start and we were all over the place in the first half trying out a different formation. One of their goals was from the half way line. But we fought back well had them on the ropes in the second half.

When they were on it King’s Lynn did look very good though.

I wasn't there today and it was a great point, but I would like to see Stanway have a run in goal. I think he ended last season with 4 clean sheets in 5. Just because Tryer is from a Premier League club doesn't mean he is better than Stanway.

Didn't have his best game but he's a quality keeper, both of them are in my opinion.

I don't really blame him for the half way line goal either, was just an incredible hit to be fair. Bit more at fault for the third though.

1-0 down after 30 seconds I was worried, poor free kick given away then our keeper let it slip through his fingers but after that and especially the second half was our best performance of the season. Spenny didn't have another shot on target after that first minute and a dodgy keeper in goal for them did help but we dominated them.

Surprised Spenny hadn't lost yet honestly, anyone playing them just have some shots at the keeper, he was at fault for 3 of the goals today by spilling or letting them slip through his hands

Big heads up to all the supporters that braved that weather today it was absolutely pissing it down.

Overall happy with that result, was thinking when Boston took the lead they'd have gone on and chalked up their first victory of the season at our expense.

First half wasn't all that pretty after going 1-0 down to a soft penalty, 'and probably a dubious sending off from another dodgy referee in the second half (especially when he looked over at the linesman on one of our goals) helped our cause'.

I thought after the sending off we changed gears and started taking them apart with some great football in the wet conditions. Beck's goal was a beauty, and we seem to be having a bit of good fortune with another deflected goal. I do get the impression that there's more to come from Darlo.
