We easily matched Norwich, and definitely deserved a point at least.

Two silly defensive errors cost us though.

I must say though, we are great fun to watch at the moment!

Sheff Utd on Saturday, expecting the same set up as against Burnley. Deep, organised, and rarely committing bodies.

Sheff Utd have much more firepower than the Dingles though. Defeat.

Another not really great performance really I felt. Defensively we didn’t really look sure of ourselves all night thought Potts and Bradley really struggled in particular. Not sure if Bradley is really fit but either way he looked considerably slower than he even did before!

Not bringing in a quality centre half this summer and relying on what we had having lost a flakey big piece of it all, might prove to be a mistake as we never looked secure at all imo. Have to assume Lockyer not fit as given the first half that both Potts and Bradley I half expected one to get the hook at half time for him let alone him not get on at all.

Morris goes from strength to strength is the highlight, really coming into his own as an all around forward. No one else really putting there hand up in attacking areas though is the real concern.

Nailed on penalty at the end I felt. If we scored it not sure it would be an entirely “deserved” the result but it’s frustrating nonetheless. Wonder if NJ will admit to some frailties tonight after his mini go at the fans prior to the game.
Not sure what’s up with him lately? He’s turning into a real whining child in recent weeks. That said, that decision from Andy Davies… wow wee we wow.

He’s always had a a bit of it in him but it’s the first time it’s been focused internally for some reason. Something off, think it’s the first time here where he’s faced some genuine and I think largely on the mark criticism (his subs were poor against Wigan and de-stabilised our midfield, that’s just a fact) and it’s rattled him massively. Which is unwarranted on his part as most of it’s been fairly light. Not like he’s getting booed off or anything which would be OTT and warrant some sort of comment.

Also having said he never blames players he pretty obviously put the blame for the result last night on his back 3 not being “dominant enough”. Think he needs to take a step back and call in a few close confidants and re-asses a few things. The sideline crew this year is lacking that old head he has always had and I’m not sure it’s a help. Not saying Mick and Paul Hart had a huge sway but I think they had the ability to say “no because x, y, z” to him. Not sure those on the touchline this year can do that.

Maybe think he can do or say what he likes as the board aren't likely to get rid given his record with you guys,.

Rather different to us!

Open your mouth or put a toe out of line and it's goodbye.

Upped the midfield intensity to swing an even game, where first half each side cancelled the other. Good tactics after halftime (credit where its due to Jones and the team) and great application with Campbell and Clark turning it on. Blackburn held to zero threat.

Also best game ive seen Bell have in a.long while. Would love to see him in the LCH role as he has speed and would comliment the excellent Burke either side of Locks. Morris fantastic, still waiting for Cauley to click but he wasnt ineffective

Took the lead then sat back and predictable happened.

Poor game management and yet more injuries.

Great and much needed result. Blackburn clearly not done some pre-work on us, or did and had too big an ego to disregard there “style” and play in a way more likely to get them a result. Intent on playing out from the back with slow and largely ineffective possession, which is a dream for us as it allows us to do all we want in terms of pressing and work off the ball. Poor management from them and they never changed it. Both goals we scored ultimately came from them giving possession away albeit we made the most of both situations with good play and a cracking finish from Burke.

Morris is going from strength to strength, had a pretty average first few games I felt but coming into his own, his all around play is excellent and finishes the chances that come his way. Bound to have a dry spell and miss a few chances at some point so it’s his general all around game which is so pleasing.

Really happy with that win as was all beginning to start heading in a downward spiral if we had lost today I think

Lost 0-1 to Reading. Shite match between two shite teams decided by a free kick. Whoever thought it a smart idea to take a three smallest players and put them in the wall deserves sacking. Easiest free kick Tom Ince will ever score.

One win in eight games for Watford. I can hear the chopping block warming up already.

Luton have been decidedly worse than average for these first 10 games yet find themselves just two points off the play offs and a smidge behind Watford. There is so much more our team is capable of, especially with our main striker of last season completely misfiring so far.

Jones - Mr I don’t read social media. Please lay off this woe is me attitude. He’s turning into a real moany so and so.

Not wrong there .

Might be gone before the big game in October and if we lose that that definitely will .

Maybe be harsh as our recruiting has been poor leaving us with an unbalanced squad but the Pozzos don’t hang about .

One observation I’d make about this division over the recent seasons is that the first international break is anecdotally the “get shit together” period for some of the underperforming teams. And some of the surprise leaders revert back to type. They haven’t been friendly to us these breaks over the years, our style of play needing momentum.

Feel like this season currently being so close in terms of teams being bunched together is proving a deathtrap for football managers. A few losses on the bounces and you're literally inside the bottom three because the margins are currently so fine from a points' perspective, leading to clubs panicking. Chairman also look at how Forest transformed themselves last season with a change of boss.

Morison now gone at Cardiff. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if over a quarter of bosses are gone by the World Cup break. Watford's man won't last long. West Brom fans hate Bruce, Blackpool fans hate Appleton, Hull's minted owner won't give Arveladze much more rope. Then there's Wilder.

Sunderland on Saturday, sold 2,400 so far which is very good considering the trains seem to be fucked around the country. It's about £90 return and we've scored 3 league goals.

First 11 is fairly predictable but something certainly needs changing. I'll be very shocked if we score. Dull game and a defeat I reckon.

We have no fit strikers as we haven’t since simms went off at reading but We’ve been scoring goals without them, however we aint played at home without a front man yet so this may turn out to be another 0-0 for Preston this season if they keep it tight. But the young lads in this team are energetic and hungry so i’m hoping for another good performance but i’ll take a 1-0 win to get more points on the board.

Good prediction there - and the next one probably won't either unless we win most of the next few games going by the statement the owner gave as to why Edwards got sacked.

Got the impression he kind of expected us to be top and playing pretty fancy football by now.

Maybe should have appointed someone with good Championship experience and/or with a more attacking set up then in the first place?

Rather than a young guy who had one season in management at League Two level where he played 3-5-2 (we had no wingbacks so he was stuffed there) and 2 big lads up front to score goals (which we don't have either..)

I presume West Brom cannot afford to pay Bruce off and Steve Gibson almost seems like the anti Pozzo in that he gives managers a long time.

40,000 crowd expected, mad for this level.

Any other second tier in the world getting 30k-40k crowds every season like the Championship?

Hull City away for us on sky tonight after what felt like an a particularly long international break for some reason.

They have just sacked there manager literaly today so not sure what sort of state that leaves them in for tonight. Might galvanise them, might thrown them into disarray but certainly adds an interesting wrinkle to the game! Not started well but think they have individual quality in there that needs time to adapt to the surroundings and gel as a team given all the movement there.

As for us we looked somewhat back to ourselves against Blackburn and need that to continue. Seems Arvaladze had them playing in a slow build up type of way which always gets my attention as it opens up the type of game we want to play. We had a few injuries and stuff just prior to the break so it might have come at a good time although we tend to not do so well after them (at least that’s my feeling of it!)

Very much our style of game we want to play in and hence the lead so far.

Hull extremely dodgy in possession especially in defence, we press well but if they play through that press they have had a few moments but not real clear cut chances more shots from distance which as have been shown can be very dangerous! After the goal we had maybe 20 minutes where we barely put a pass together but still looked in control of the game. Funny old game really in that sense. Had a few moments on the press where we won the ball high and should have done better with the opportunity but feel there’s goals there for us playing that way.

Second goal is unreal strike by Lansbury. He’s got immense quality that he often puts away to do the dirty side of the game which is what we ask of him really but belter of a strike.

Good win that we managed out very well i think. We arent going to wow people with our football, i cant imagine there will be too many games this season where fans of other clubs come away thinking we "look" a playoff side but you cant have too many complaints as a fan of ours because we just work so hard for it. Just do the basics right, have the energy and ability to press throughout and the odd player who can produce some quality when needed.

Looking back to the side we were last season which is great to see as up to January we probably werent that side ourselves so ahead of the curve!

I’m really not sure about any other 2nd tier team in the world doing that mind. I thought us getting an avg of 30,000 in lge one was fabulous, we did get 46K one time in the 3rd tier against Bradford on the boxing day of our first season down there. Tbh football is most peoples lives up here and same with Newcastle hence the good crowds, it helps not having loads of clubs in the area though. Should be a good atmosphere. I’ve got a feeling Preston will get something today, hope i’m wrong though.
