I imagine The Wombles will make life very difficult for the o's in what is in sorts a kind of new derby. All it will take is a one sided ref for them to become the new Brentford in terms of rivalry. I imagine the new plough lane being a tough place to visit. Should be a good atmosphere. This is where our unbeaten start will really be tested. 2-1 Wombles in a fiery, niggly, tight affair.

Sutton at Stevenage. Likely will be up there with Barrow as the best side we’ve played this season. A point would be 1 more than expected. We’ve not done well on travels yet but performances have been ok. If we do get decent points out of Stevenage and Swindon away consecutively I’ll get more confident of matching or slightly bettering last season. We do travel on the back of 3 home wins in a week (including pizza cup) so at least confidence is high.

Re. home form reference to Mansfield, I think we’re 1 defeat (Bradford) in 20 at home and probably better if you include cups. Not fact checked just something I heard. Either way our home form is up there!

It’s 1 defeat in 25 at GGL for Sutton in all competitions. I wish we could transfer that to away games. Not very optimistic about getting all 3 points on Saturday and as of now would be happy with 1 point.

Stockport County.
Tranmere and Stockport. Two similar clubs that have followed each other around the leagues, although we didn’t quite manage to plummet to the depths they did. Happy their back in the league but have a sneaking feeling I’ll be cursing come 21:40 Friday night.
Good to be back playing you lads. Always thought the same, very similar clubs for obvious reasons. Would have you down as a bit bigger and yes you didn't sink quite as far. Mean level for both clubs is bobbing around L1 and L2 informing irritating people on the respective Manchester and Liverpool derby days that you support neither.

The most likely reason you'll be cursing is because of a pretty drab game and a draw IMO. If I had to pick a winner, I'd say home win. We've still not a picked up a point away yet this season

Easy away win then. You'll have nowt to adapt to tactically and we are totally unfit so I expect you to steamroller us in the second half as every other fucker does. Pools 1-4 Doncaster.
I wish I had your confidence but then it seems your lot is in the same place as we were last season.
I’m hoping we line up like this:
Mitchell
Knoyle Williams Long Maxwell
Clayton
Taylor Tomlin Rowe
Miller Woltman
Subs: Jones, Faulkner, Agard, Molyneux, Hirst, Kuleya, Biggins

This'll be Hartley's final game.
Can,t see any other outcome.
Real shame for him, But he thought he knew it all regarding Lge 2 Level
And its backfired badly.
He,ll probably be as relieved as a lot of supporters.

Mansfield have won 16 and drawn one from last 18 league games at the Mill. Only team to beat us was Sutton on Good Friday and we drew with Forest Green on last day of season.

We’ve lost all three away games so far and have very little pace/counter attacking threat so unless we manage to boss possession I can’t see us getting anything.

The away form depends on how you look at it; should have won at Stevenage, Doncaster was an early write-off. Didn't go Mansfield but by all accounts it was a nothing game except for a mad five minutes. And we won at Harrogate in the cup, with a comfortable performance.

Tranmere's record is nigh identical to ours and we know how poor County have been, so if we can be just half as good as we were last Saturday then I'm confident we can win it.

Feels good to be revisiting old stomping grounds, and with a couple of thousand travelling to the wrong end of Cheshire under Friday night floodlights then it's gonna be a good 'un

Thanks for reminding us of the draw!!

That’s definitely better going than us, ours will include a few draws for sure.

Even the most optimistic Carlisle supporter would be sceptical of our chances of getting anything at Harrogate. They are the definition of a bogey team.

Last seasons visit was one of the most shocking performances I’ve witnessed from a Carlisle United away end.

Harrogate were our bogey team but we beat them fairly comfortably (it was 1-0 but they offered nothing) this season. They don't look much of a team at all this season.

Not sure what to expect from Newport. Seem to have had some good cup results. Below us in the league.

Swindon 1-0 Newport off Jephcott's shoulder will do. Smart money is on yet another draw.

Grimsby away for us. We played them last month in the league Cup and got tonked, but that was a team with around 8 changes so it will be a very different Crewe team.

I'm abit concerned about our 2nd half performances this season, we've been pretty formidable in the first 45 mkns but then seem to sit back and create nothing 2nd half, it's happened vs Rochdale, Sutton, Northampton and Stevenage and in the last two of those it's cost us points. Grimsby have made a solid start and I see them being very solidly midtable this season, maybe very similar position to ourselves so I'm expecting a tight game.

Grimsby 1-1 Crewe (Waterfall, Agyei) 6,588 (250 Crewe)

All of our 6 league goals have come after the 63rd minute, 5 of them after the 76th minute.

This. Annoys me so much when meeting people either aimed at me or others who support all local lower league side. "I know you watch Bury/County/Dale/Oldham but who is your 'proper team'? City or United?" Usually always coming out of the mouth of a new colleague who will be aUnited 'fan' whose only visit to OT was a stadium tour on their 8th birthday.

Do Londoners get that sort of shit as well?

Salford at home. Not hopeful. They've seemingly stopped underachieving and have had a great start. Shame,as I cannot stand them and I was rather hoping Cof92 would pull out and they'd slide back into the NorthWest Counties leagues.
We need a win. And I'd love us to post a thumping result with each of our 5 strikers scoring but I can't see past a loss here. I'd be happy with a point.
