I think most teams only have one active long snapper to be fair, I imagine they view it as a waste of a roster spot given the unlikelihood long snappers will get injured.

A specialist one certainly. Not sure about every team but the Pats for example have Ninkovich who assumes duties if our regular one is injured. That may just be Belichick and the way he builds a roster.
