Well the lad is French, how would you pronounce it - Marshall?
Mar-shal yep, I don't know where he gets the 'c' from. At least mine sounds more French than this paps!

I thought it was Mar-ti-al

Anyway, probably the best performance I have seen from Arsenal for a long time. The second half will probably be more pleasing than the first as they've looked really solid.

well that was poor. United have had bad spells in games all season. Arsenal properly punished us for it today. fully deserved the 3 points. Work still to do for LVG. Time to drop Rooney for a few games

Well, we were dire and the 3-0 scoreline was very kind to us.

Arsenal were fantastic in the first half - they didn't carry that on into the second half but they didn't really need to having racked up a three goal lead so early on.

Very please not only with the goals scored, but the defensive performance too. I thought Bellerin and Monreal especially were very good.

Van Gaal on Friday, "When we win at Arsenal everyone will believe we can win the title." Oh dear.

I know you are more interested in United related matters mate but your manager has just been sacked - might be of interest to you!

Arsenal truly had a brilliant start and despite not having a second half so active and United having a bit more presence Arsenal still was consistently good. And surely Carrick and Schweinsteiger together wasn't the best of the choices, mainly for a direct table confrontation.

Bit of a slow start from us. When I saw the line up I worried, you sign one of the best DM's in the league and drop him for one of the toughest away days? Doesn't make sense to me. Carrick and Schweinsteiger may both be individually better than Schneiderlin, but as a pair, against a midfield as good as Arsenal's? Major fuck up from van Gaal. Oh well, it was only one game, at least we didn't do something mental like lose 8-2.

I hope van Gaal stays at United for a long time, only to be followed by top shagger Giggsy.

van Gaal won't be here for a long time but you'll likely get your wish with Giggs.

Really enjoyable watch. I expected a win as we have the better team/squad/manager but that first half hour is the reason we watch football, superb stuff.

After the Welbeck winner at Old trafford and today's result I think our United demons have left us thankfully. Roll on Watford.

Ozil had a great game today. It's such a shame his application doesn't match his undoubted ability, otherwise he'd be even better than Sanchez.

Not bitter, I didn't expect to get much from today. And I like Wenger more than I like most opposition managers.

We were all over the place in the first half. Very unlike a LVG side, which is usually very well drilled. Arsenal were sensational and blew us away. The game was over after 30 minutes. We couldnt cope with the tempo and accuracy of their passing. Van Gaal got the team selection wrong as it was clear we'd need Morgan's tenacity in midfield. We got overrun with Bastian deciding to press up in Rooney's position, an obvious ploy by LVG which backfired. Still it's early days, so a lot to play for after the international break.

I don't see how Van Gaal can protect Rooney for longer. Herrera needs to get a run of games at number ten or at least put Mata there. Memphis has been very poor the last few games, so I'd expect to see Young get more game time.

On the positive side it might stop LVG talking about being potential champions. we're not there yet and i cringed when it was mentioned the other week. Still work to do. I like Depay still he's too ball greedy at times thoruhg but at least he's willing to run at defenders. Only him and Martial seem to be willing to do that. Rooney needs to be dropped for someone else for a few games let someone else have a run behind Martial. Herrera most likley unless we play Mata there and Move Depay to the right with Young on the left. We should move Blind to LB and give Mcnair a run in the middle. At Least Blind can play Left back and understands the position unlike playing a winger there. Either that or keep the centre back pairing and let Mcnair play Left back.

Can't believe LVG mentioned they were tired too, 8 games into the season FFS

nothing better than watching your team attack and score goals that way. Crisis averted until next week!
