Opposing the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre!!!!
Villa did play really bad though, dogshit compared to how they played in the semi final. However, even if they'd not been piss poor the Arsenal team today would still have beaten them convincingly.

That was a lot more pleasant than I expected. We did not shit ourselves and were miles better than Villa.

PS what boring arsehole changed the thread title?

One more season till we hear Wenger out? For me it has been an average season for Arsenal. Pretty much one player carried them to similar season as last one. On the other hand, Jose improved his team leaps and bounds with the signings of Costa and Fabregas to win the PL title. I guess this is why Jose is the "Special One" and Wenger is the "Specialist in Failure."

People were saying the exact same about us getting 4th place over Tottenham. I disagree completely that winning the FA Cup papers over the cracks, I think it shows that the club is coming out of a transitional phase of relative austerity to become one of the top clubs in the country again.

I'd tend to agree with that, Arsenal could challenge for the title next season but I feel they need to make a couple of acquisitions (quality forward and a quality CB) to add to the squad. Wenger has two years to run on his contract, I'd say it is now or never for the man, what is the point in frugality in transfer activity at this stage? Don't get me wrong, I'd rather he shied away from the 'big' signings, but the prize is within his grasp if he wants to seriously butt heads with Mourinho.

He's always had the club's best interest at heart (maybe not the fan's best interests, but that's another discussion). He made his own job harder with the stadium repayment stuff knowing that it would massively benefit the club in the future. I don't think his time at the club coming to an end would cause him to take any stupid financial risks.

Sure, I get all that but I'm not talking about big 'risks', rather adding to an already strong squad. A week is shorter in football than it is in politics, so it wouldn't take long for the next manager to come along and screw up everything he has worked for. That was the point I was making, the ground is paid for, the squad is strong, now is the time to strike. Whoever succeeds him may undo his good work in less than a season.

It is, but I can't see him doing it. He is ridiculously loyal to his players. That's a nice trait but it doesn't always translate into success. I think Arsenal will head into next season with Giroud as first choice striker again and probably the same back four.

What a boring final, most 1 sided game I've seen in a while. Villa's best players didn't show up, Arsenal's did and that was only going to result in a comfortable win. Arsenal need to use this double FA Cup success and build on it next season, the next level is within reach for them.

Expected a lot more from Villa, especially after the way they bullied Liverpool in the semi. Congrats to Arsenal though. When all the players click like they did today they are a frightening prospect, good to see Theo back also

Just finished watching.......awful game for the Neutral, but i think Sherwood can take abit of the blame for that 2nd half. He took a massive massive gamble in giving his team another 10 minutes at the re-start when it clearly had not worked in the first and all the pundits were expecting the change.

He didn't make the change and Arsenal grabbed a 2nd before he finally did, by then it was too late because Arsenal were back in full on confidence mode by then.

but i suppose its always a hard thing for a manager to change it right away when they sometimes think a b*llocking will do the trick, but the 2nd goal killed them and made the rest inevitable.

I still see the Arsenal side having the tendency to curl up and die when facing other top six teams; they always look good against teams like Villa, but I think it'll be more of the same from them next year in respect to the league.

Here's hoping that list includes the following:

Brad Guzan
Ron Vlaar*
Nathan Baker
Joe Cole*
Chris Herd
Kieran Richardson (much as he was by far and away our best player today, sadly enough)
Charles N'Zogbia*
Andy Weimann
Gabby Agbonlahor

Following those 9 fucking off, the three starred players especially, we should be able to get some decent players in, serious overhall is needed. Utterly embarrassed today. Pathetic. The less said about our performance the better. Though, I must credit Arsenal, as even if we had shown up today, we'd

Did Charles N'Zogbia actually touch the ball at all?

I think your Chelsea bias is clouding your view. The only top 6 side Arsenal have a (very big) problem against is Chelsea.

Thinking generally about yesterday it seems that memories of how last year's final started really spurred Arsenal on. They were determined not to let the same thing happen again.

That says all you need to know. We need a reliable keeper. Shay is decent, but is getting on, if he's happy to sit on the bench, then fantastic, I don't think Guzan will be, therefore will need to be sold.

Maybe the football pundits all have a 'Chelsea bias' too, or maybe I'm just imaging their poor performances againts City, United, etc. In recent seasons?

Haha

I'm on holiday, all inclusive, blistering sunshine, gallons of beer & cocktails, unlimited food, heaven on earth.

The highlight of my holiday was the two Villa fans in the sports bar storming out as the third goal rattled in "fucking shit Villa" HAHAHA delightful, Blues towel out in all its glory today :fl::fing:

Awful game.
I loved it.

Is the boring arsehole who changed the thread title not willing to come forward? Did the previous one not engage enough SEO metrics for your monetisation plans? FUCKHEAD.

Didn't he do the same thing last season?

There aren't many current Arsenal players that I dislike but he comes across as a right chavvy little tosser.
