Ours is a joke. I bet we haven't managed more than 3000 home fans more than 5 times this season. Granted the football has been wank, We have been in a relegation battle and every game is all ticket, although you can turn up on the day and purchase one for £22. But a town the size of ours should be getting more, People around here have so many excuses to not bother supporting us. Biggest game of our season Tuesday night and we manged about 2500 home fans.

That said whilst I do think the price is too high, We have done 3 games at £7 this season and not one attendence was anything worth shouting about.

One reason for having a larger one against us was the 1210 away fans!

Ours is pretty average in my opinion, our attendances didn't drop too much from when we were struggling. If we challenge next year I suspect they will rise

Yawn, some people wank over these attendances and you all litterally have less atmosphere than Accy. Who average under 1500.

Yes, ours is poor but it's been poor since the 70's/80's it's the same every year whether we are good or bad. If you're that bothered about seeing a decent crowd go to the Trafford Centre or Meadowhall on a Saturday afternoon.

Having it all ticket does seem a bit strange, it definitely put off a few of our fans travelling on Tuesday.

It's the same every game. You'd think they'd at least sell tickets for Away Fans at the ground like they do for Home fans. Although they are 2 more on the day but we wouldn't be the only club that increase the price on the day.

We have our free game against southend which could see anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000 attending, which will boost the numbers.

And I'd expect we will get over 4,000 for the Wombles game.

Our end of season average will be around 3,750 I imagine

Also, anybody got a home fans only average? As that seems much fairer.

One big away following can skew average figures and isn't really a reflection of your own attendances

With only 1 or 2 games remaining for sides, average attendances are going to be pretty much settled.

Is your average about where you thought it would be at the beginning of the season? more? less?

For Mansfield, though we are down in 20th I am quite happy we average more than 3,000

1 Portsmouth FC 15.178
2 Luton Town 8.661
3 Plymouth Argyle 7.305
4 Oxford United 6.163
5 Southend United 5.810
6 Shrewsbury Town 5.120
7 Tranmere Rovers 5.054
8 Cambridge United 5.033
9 Northampton Town 4.547
10 Carlisle United 4.185
11 AFC Wimbledon 4.037
12 Wycombe Wanderers 3.993
13 Exeter City 3.876
14 Hartlepool United 3.679
15 York City 3.559
16 Bury FC 3.538
17 Newport County 3.184
18 Stevenage FC 3.171
19 Burton Albion 3.124
20 Mansfield Town 3.012
21 Cheltenham Town 2.762
22 Dagenham & Redbridge 2.041
23 Morecambe FC 1.891
24 Accrington Stanley 1 1.463

When Luton visited other grounds, they averaged the highest average of 5,328. Alternatively, the least desirable team to come and watch at your place was Bury  averaging 3,959. http://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/eng-league-two-2014-2015/2/

Are you sure the Mansfield figure is over 3k I have it just under, presumably the difference is the disputed attendance a few weeks back which was stated at over 3k but confirmed as 1k or so less by one of yours on here?

Stagsnet has Mansfields average down as 2,955

I'd trust that. Not many things Martin gets wrong

Just noticed we have 1810 season ticket holders. 400 down on last year when we finished top half. God only knows what will happen after this dismal season.

Ive actually just looked at that.

Stagsnet has it down as 2955 which I think it's correct.

As it is portsmouth are coming to town for the last game so it should tilt it back over again

It'll be the same number, roughly.

The fans that started coming this season that sit Infront of us are actually getting their first season tickets next season. Not sure what they've been watching elsewhere like!

If it is true that there will be no Early Bird offer then I can see there being a decrease but not a drastic one. It would be nice if we could up the budget in the Summer and allow Murray to go out and get a couple of quality players in. I believe we already have one in Clements, He just needs to show it week in week out.

Ours is just standard, would be the same whether we were flying up the league probably. Generally have a similar figure of home fans, all depends on whether you're playing Dagenham or Pompey as to what makes up the rest.

The big unknown for us is not what we have now with our traditional poor support given the size of the city but what's the new stadium going to bring, it's out of town which is never good but many still seem to have a new stadium bounce and it will bring an increase in revenue which should see us have the ability to attract better players.

We must have been pretty close on the opening day weren't we? Can't remember exactly how many we took now.

I don't recall exactly the number, but it wasn't close to 1,000. More like 800, which I thought at the time was quite a decent effort.

He needs to start putting in a performance once a month before he does it every other game, the lad annoys the fuck out of me.

Am hoping if Murray brings in more technical players and plays more passing football he will be play better as he'll obviously be better suited towards it

Ours is slightly more than I expected after last season. Next season could go up depending on who we employ as manager and how we are doing. Also believe we're still restricted to about 18,000 due to Health & Safety.

Is it this?
Pompey's capacity has been temporarily set at 18,200

Because if it is then that means with a capacity of 18,202 we have the biggest ground in this tinpot division :sb:

sorry for WUMming

Ah fair one, like our South Habbin in that case.
Three stands are all the rage now, who needs four?

On the other hand, while I haven't heard anything more of it since the news article I linked, I really do hope we do open the Waterworks for the final day. It's so much better when sound's coming from all four sides, and looks better on the telly when there are fans behind the goal. Our incoming new owner (well strictly speaking the 'leader' of the group of investors taking over) is in favour of having it open too, but he seems pretty sentimental about Brunton Park and doesn't necessarily imply he'll always do what his heart says when his head suggests otherwise. He might think again when he looks at the cost of opening it versus just having the three open.

We'll have to see if we can move some of our higher profiles games next season then. :p

I would have thought if any teams ground in this division would come close it would have been Tranmeres.

Tranmere's is something like 16,000 I think. It's all seater though... very much a larger structure than ours, but a lower capacity.

I'm sure if the powers that be at Pompey really wanted the biggest 'approved' capacity in the division they could stretch to an extra 3 on that 18,200.

I think part of the problem is its not just one section thats been marked as unsafe its several, so instead of closing one stand etc we just have to lower the amount of people in certain sections. So for away fans there only allowed 2500 instead of the full 3200. It's all to do with sprinklers and uneven steps.

When was the last time away fans got your terrace btw? From watching on FLS it doesn't look like it is ready for away fans but I'm sure I saw someone using it within last few years.

I can't remember. I do remember Leeds getting it in 2007, but think it may have been used since. To be sure its proper shit. No cover, though I think they may have allowed the fans in it to go into the East stand for the facilities

Friendly against Newcastle maybe? Seem to remember them having the Waterworks as well as the section of the East Stand, but that may have been before the Leeds game.
