Wycombe's is poor.

They've been top 3 for the whole season.
Our problem is we're just over 20 miles away from London and Reading, you should see High Wycombe high street in the summer you see mostly Premier League teams shirts with a lot of Chelsea fans in HW how can a League 2 club compete?

As mentioned on another thread, I'm really surprised our attendances have held up around the 8,700 mark. This is about 1,000 more than I expected, with many home games selling out well before the match itself. Portsmouth was sold out 7 weeks in advance.

I think it proves that Luton Town are on the up in all aspects of the club. Financially the club is stable, but not rich. Although we've not had a decent cup run this season (perhaps only giving us an additional £100,000), we've had a couple of big one-off earners - 5,800 season ticket holders (which I think is a modern club record?) and £600,000 + clauses for Andre Gray in the summer.

Today there will be an announcement about serious developments about our relocation plans.

*Of course Bury are a bigger club.

I know I'm probably stating the obvious but I'll say it anyway... Luton need a new stadium and once they get it they properly push onwards and upwards.

We are bang average on attendances and are 4th..

You make it out like we have Real Madrids squad with Accringtons crowds

Also, you make it out like we have bought all 11 players in our starting XI, I think 7 or 8 of the players that started today were here last season and some even longer.

No money spent in January either.

Any money was spent on Carrington training complex.

That said our attendances are on the up and should be back at 4,000 next season going off the increase each year.

If only money was spent on transfer fees. I do hate that line: "we've spent no money in this transfer window". Yet signed about 10 players on free transfers, with sign on fees, relocation packages and other clauses. (Not exclusively aimed at Bury).

Ended up averaging 3,021 - which isn't bad given the complete crap we've had to endure this season

Would be interesting to know what the average away / travelling attendance is ? We're looking forward to improve on the 30+ from Gateshead !! (mind you I exclude D+R from that expectation :-) )

I can't remember. I do remember Leeds getting it in 2007, but think it may have been used since. To be sure its proper shit. No cover, though I think they may have allowed the fans in it to go into the East stand for the facilities
Leeds got it in 08 as well for their playoff match, then the following season I think.

A few preseason games has seen it in use as well. Newcastle and Hibs have both been on it since. There's probably other occasions in the league as well but it's hard to remember.

Being stuck up here in the North East we seem to see the lower end of the away support but even so most bring at least 200, however be warned when Accrington visit, we have 1000 seats available , they filled 40 of them!

It's the same for us...I don't think the location of your ground helps either

First time we've averaged over 2000 since the L1 year I think. reduced season tickets have obviously helped that but it's nice to see. With a few more local teams coming down and a squad that offers some hope/excitement next season it will hopefully rise again, even if only by 100 or 200. Even this weekend against Accrington we were 2000+ which a lot were very surprised at, usually we have a 1600 core home support but that rose by an extra 350 on Saturday which is encouraging, even if it was the last game of the season it's hardly an exciting one.

Ours is a disgrace. It just shows how shite we've been over the past few years.

Things need to change next season because we can't go on with that average.

If we're pushing for promotion we should be talking 7000-8000 average, and that's when the club really starts to grow because the budget just grows and grows alongside attendances.

Yeah we were averaging 7000-8000 or more when we were last in league 2 and then when we were doing well in league 1.

For the current board to allow this steady decline over the last 4/5 years, lose 4000+ fans in the process and do nothing about it is disgusting. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The weird thing is they could have benefitted so much from us doing well, it makes no sense that they would stand by while it happened. If they were in it for themselves then they could take some of the additional revenue from the bigger attendances. Almost makes you think they're just totally incompetent and couldn't have done anything if they'd tried.

Shrewsbury will finish with an average of about 5370 by my maths, not great but then the average away following this year has been a shade over 400 which isn't surprising as all our local teams are in the divison above (bar Burton). Would expect our average to rise by 1000 no matter how we do next year simply with the extra away fans and the extra season ticket sales. It's about 400 down on our last promotion season but then the away fans were higher that year.

Do the board affect what goes on the pitch though? Your crowds have halved as you have been largely poor this season, so people don't attend. It's obvious really.
And money us not always the answer, just a good manager and some good players..usually free!
Next season you maybe challenging if you have clear out and reshuffle, then the gates go up. Does that mean the board get credit then?

I needn't go into the minor details but the board have been instrumental in a quite amazing demise over the past 5 or so years. Giving Greg Abbott a new contract (on the basis of them wanting to honour a gentleman's agreement) then sacking him a few games in, hiring Kavanagh on an 18 month contract, not sacking Kavanagh before summer thus allowing him to blow the budget and then only giving him 5 games before also sacking him. This, alongside the fact that they're at least a few decades behing in terms of fan interaction has been the main reason our attendances have halved and we've gone from a game away from the Championship to a few games away from non-league.

Every bugger in Mansfield supports Forest! 90% of Forest fans are not from Nottingham but the rest of Nottinghamshire and theres quite a few Derby fans. Although i do like to see derby do better than forest!

Taken from our forum we ended with an average of 6024, quite good that. Could well of been a few more if we scored a few more at home!
