Well i got the 4 right

me thinks this high risk style gets saturday and if no wins in four has to sadly be dropped.

but Curle isnt helping himself......keeps the same defensive set-up that made numerous cock-ups on saturday and hey presto the same load of individual cock-ups.

its worrying that we've conceeded 9 goals already this season, but more worrying that 5 of them 9 goals seem to be from an individual mistake allowing other side through.

plus i know its easy to say now, but to play as such a wide formation with no wide players in the set-up, on one side you've a central midfielder and on other a striker..............that stuff never works.

I don't think we'll go down this season, but this is just embarrassing. So many times each season we get these results, it's so depressing. All the early-season optimism is lost already, looks like it's gonna be another painful season.

Carlisle have one back and McCormick in the book.

You will stay up this season
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but staying up isn't good enough. We demand improvement from last season at the very least, if not pushing for the playoffs.

Obviously that's out the window already due to the same old same old shower of shite that is our defence.

Yeah he hit the post.

Don't worry he'll have his shooting boots back on for the 29th August.

Pretty even first half with a screamer from Jervis deciding the teams. Second half we changed to a 5 at the back with Simpson coming on for Wylde. It changed the game, you fell to shite and we dominated. Feel for the Carlisle fans that came down, but tbh if that second half is anything to go by you'll be near the bottom again. Oh, and Grainger is shit.

We're shit but we aren't that shit mate
I think you've misunderstood my post. I didn't say you were shit, I said it is unacceptable for Carlisle United under any circumstances to lose 4-1 to Plymouth.

If it was the other way round you'd be saying exactly the same. This is league 2.

It's only 1 result boys. Plymouth are a decent side, and it's one heck of a trek. As Jose Mourinho would say a 'fake result'.

I'd say Carlisle fans are over reacting , however , that's a lot of goals conceded , as we know all to well ,.you don't fix that overnight

169 Carlisle fans at Home Park. Top top away support for a trip of that length on a Tuesday night

What makes the 4 1 scoreline all the more pleasing is that Carlisle weren't actually that bad.

First half, up until the goal, Carlisle were firmly in the driving seat, hit the woodwork twice and should have done better with a couple of other efforts. We opened the scoring with a Jake Jervis wonder goal. Second half, we completely changed our formation to deal with Carlisle (refreshing, as John Sheridan last season would have shut up shop and tried to hold the 1 0), we were excellent in the second half, took control of the game, some clinical finishing had us 4 up. To Carlisle's credit, they never stopped and got a deserved consolation, and their fans didn't stop either, good support.

I think we'll have a very good season, play offs again but in a much more pleasing manner.

If Carlisle can tighten up at the back, I think a high mid table finish would be a realistic aim, Ibehre is a very good footballer.

Wow .. cos we put ours in seats I try to count them , I'm always out by about 20 ... its easy with you , I just count the empty ones , normally 5 or 6 .. We played CSKA Moscow in a friendly once , not a soul in the away end .... part timers !! Every time they scored (6 times ) absolute silence .... just like a Darlo game

The tactic is extremely open and its why the game will suddenly swing by a couple of goals.

the big problem for us is we are making far far too many individual mistakes and if your throwing 7 of the 11 men forward and only have sometimes 3 players back at most then you cannot afford to make these mistakes because 9 times out of 10 it will lead to other side through on goal.

unfortunately for us we've played 3 games so far and 5 of the 9 goals conceded have been through individual error letting them through, plus has been other mistakes which we got away with.

I'd give the formation a go on sat but he need to dump these calamity defenders who simply cannot play to the system.

I think they will take great comfort from that .... This time last year we had the worst defence in the universe now we sit proudly at the joint top of the division
