What's the opinion on cans or bottles for beer? Does It make a difference? I've always preferred a bottle but pretty sure that it's just because it feels better rather than it actually tasting different. I don't even find decanting a can into a glass as satisfying as drinking a cold beer from the bottle but at 29p extra for a Tyskie I'm not sure it's worth it.

I prefer cans if it's a fizzy one, if it's flat (I'm a cider man) it has to be bottled.

I only drink cider without bubbles in it and it looks like piss  I'm lucky having several cider farms near me that make perfect Somerset farmhouse cider usually around 6%.

Living in the Midlands, I have to wait for one of the local ale places sticking a couple of ciders on at ridiculous prices (£4 a pint half of the time, for perspective, a pint around here is usually around £2.10-£2.50 maximum) to get a good cider unfortunately.

Jesus mate i get pissed off paying £3 a pint of cider in my local as when i go to the farm for some it's under a £1 a pint and what i drink when i'm there is free :)

Can, bottle it made no difference to me as long as they were chilled....

I definitely need to move to Somerset. I would say Herefordshire too, but, Hereford...

Definitely bottled lager for me when drinking at home, ice cold.

Ale very slightly chilled and red wine at room temperature.

Apart from Guinness, I detest all canned beer/lager.

Friends of mine are starting to brew their own lager and have been taken lessons from professionals. Now, I've always started the evening with 2 cans of light beer (1664, Heineken mostly) and was often laughed at because drinking beer from cans is frowned upon in France (this is wine territory remember) but since some pro told my friends that keeping beer in a can is much better for its taste, they've shut up and let me have my pair of cans before drinking what is shown below.

Drank that for a while and it gets me in a right state. Most nights, I can't remember all the events that happened and need to ask my friends how on earth I got home safely (I don't drive (thank goodness) but walk a lot). BUT, I do find CM quite expensive especially as you have to buy the Coke to go with it. Lately, I've been enjoying this bad boy:

Granted, more expensive than CM but no Coke to buy. That's pretty cool.

I'm surprised that the Cap'n Spicey gets you in that state mate. It is certainly a lower AVB than the likes of vodka & whisky.....mind you it depends on how much you actually drink haha.
A litre bottle over here could be bought, before our Scottish government introduced minimum unit pricing, for between £16 and £18.....so I stocked up on it. Then you have the coke which I got for around £6 for a 24 can case or even occasionally a 30 can case (that was by watching supermarket offers).

I overdid vodka as a young boy (got me epileptic) while whisky is far too strong for me. I get fits the next morning if I drink too much of it. On rum, I can get completely hammered (whole bottle of CM say) and be almost alright the next morning.

I love a few glasses of JD after work. I did have a 3.75 litre bottle of 12 yr old Johnny Walker black label which I paid £150 snots for but my wife decided to take it upon herself to open it the last time her family were over from France ,I so wanted to challenge that decision !
