Sky Sports must be kicking themselves paying all those billions for the Prem, when Bingham's in League 2... the bosses at Channel 5 must be pissing themselves with laughter at the coup they've just pulled.

I think the very fact that such a talent feels happiest playing in League 2 (albeit for fallen-giants, Hartlepool*) could revitalise grassroots football across the world. Cristiano Ronaldo must be thinking, if Bingham can play for Hartlepool, surely I could play for Shildon.

*I qualify calling Hartlepool fallen-giants... I mean, they almost got to Wembley once.. how many of us down here can say that?

We've been nowhere near Wemberlee , made Cardiff for the league one final though! And that is one of the reasons Rakish is here , to take us to new heights, we have 4 cracks at it this year, although running away with the league will take one of them away...... as for you playing for Shildon.... They are at the level of a pub team, just remember to turn your watch back 40 years when you go

I used to live with a guy who supported Shildon... well I say 'live with' he didn't officially live with us, but he slept in a shopping trolley in the front room under a curtain on enough occasions to be considered a resident.

There's some jokers in the rumours thread talking about the best forwards in League Two.

Do they think Rakish is a full back or something?

I always thought Tom was pretending to be someone he's not.

There's non so blind as those that won't see, non so deaf as those that won't listen and then there is us fellow believers... soon the whole world will see and it will be US, yes US that are held up as visionarys of our time.... Some people seek greatness, others have it thrusted upon them, we are about to get thrusted!

Nobody wants to get thrusted by Rakish. It'd be like fitting Apollo 11 through the hole in a doughnut.

A little over 2 weeks to his debut at Billingham Town, I'm sure I saw someone camping out to make sure they got their ticket..... I'm just going to take my stepladders and peek over the fence .....stepladders ?? . ... yes I never knew my real ladders !!

I'm here all week!

I'll be back in eight days. :)

Rakish and Scott Fenwick will get 38 between them this season.

There, I've said it. Billy Paynter will get another 10.

This thread will be hotter than ever once the season starts and he's running rings round league 2 defenders.

You asking and me replying is just making it more and more inevitable , but this my friend is merely the beginning, once the season starts and those not in the know realise something big is happening , we will be swamped,, the days of us knowledgeable supporters swapping simple messages may soon be gone, once the swarm arrives we could be voiceless.....Binghammania is upon us , enjoy theses halcyon days whilst you can

In all serieuousnessness , I've seen Mansfield 2 years on the trot now and quite frankly it is not football as I know it , no wonder he went down hill and couldn't wait to jump ship.... no disrespect here guys , but if Mansfield try to play that way again I think it will be curtains

God is strange concept in Mansfield.

I lived in Worksop for a fair length of time. I hope it has changed in that area.

Mansfield is a weird away game.
