In less than a month he will be playing in the pre season friendly at Billingham Town, I'm expecting a bumper crowd from all over the country to witness what surely is the start of something BIG. .. I'll post a report around 10 that evening for you all, unless I'm stuck in traffic afterwards

That's an anagram for 'Bingham Will Ton'

Hidden message... he's gonna score 100 goals.

Have we got 8 pages... yes we have

Despite Messi's performance tonight, I still fancy Bingham for the Ballon D'or.
Agreed. I think Messi needed to score a hattrick tonight to have a chance. Bingham will take it this year I'm sure of it. He's now the bookies favourite.

The old club v country debate rears its head again.

This time Rakish Bingham's notable absence from the England squad facing Ireland today. My sources have indicated that Ronnie Moore told Roy Hodgson, Bingham only plays in competitive internationals.

Personally I think it's important that our top players are available for all internationals, how else will the squad gel? The likes of Jack Wilshere, Wayne Rooney and James Milner won't have played with anyone possessing Bingham's level of natural ability before, they can't just be expected to know how to support him when he gets parachuted in for big games. They need to be playing together in these kinds of meaningless games as well.

Ronnie Moore needs to stop being so selfish and allow Bingham to play for England in friendlies.

It's great that Rakish's signing has generated such massive interest (and frankly, how could it not) but I fear that not all points raised in this thread really add to the debate, excitement and controversy (in the sense that many of us are wondering how Hartlepool were able to swing such a coup) - and it's almost like some people are just posting any old blah just to spin this out over as many pages as possible.

See you've fallen into the trap, he is in the squad (they keep it on the quiet to prevent the team hotel, bus etc being mobbed) He also played the full 90 he is just so damn quick and can find space where no one else can that you didn't actually see him.

He scored 4 although they went unreported as to not raise tensions of the previous encounter (not that he couldn't have resolved anything that did happen.)

Link with this the anger management class he gave Roy Keane at half time and it was a pretty quiet day for Rakish (I do needle point with Roy Keane) Bingham.

Ahh, I did hear a rumour that with 10 minutes to go till kick-off; Bingham was in Germany chairing a meeting of the G8... so I presumed naively that there was no way he could get to Dublin in time, warm up and get onto the pitch. Now I'm reading that the scientists at the Large Hadron Collider have discovered a particle which travels at 7/8 of the speed of light... or 5/6 of the speed of Rakish Bingham, and it all makes sense... and of course Rakish Bingham has no need of 'warming up' as he's permanently shit-hot.

The " youve" was a plural you've aimed at yer self Shoddy and CUFC . A lot of people think we don't have a plural you like Johnny Foreigner , actually it was the singular you we dropped , thee. So you is more than one person, especially if it fits in with my argument
By the way... that's actually an interesting point.

Of course over in Cumbria we have a plural 'you' anyway... it's pronounced 'youse'. We also use 'us' as a singular when actually we mean 'me'... confusing eh?

Alan, please excuse me for posting something not related to the great man himself, but I can't make out your avatar at all. Is that a fox or a wolf? And what's in his mouth?

It's a Golden Jackal. It has a bit of antelope (probably Nilgai) that was probably part of a Lion's dinner leftovers.

I took it as the jackal was trotting down the road towards us during a visit to the Sasan Gir National Park in Gujarat earlier this year.

I did also come across frequent references to the great Rakish "Rama" Bingham as a major Hindu deity in the course of our travels.

I see Bingham has a new autobiography coming out soon.
It's titled 'Moore, Mansfield, and I', definitely going to pick one up when it's released. He discusses how Ronnie has recovered his career, and what it was actually like living in Mansfield.

Statistically speaking, 99% + of the world's population DON'T live in Mansfield..... I think that tells you all you need to know about the place !

His last one 'Bingham' was a good read. A lot about him growing up, learning how to play, realising he had something special, tough decisions for his parents with every club under the sun wanting to sign him. He speaks in great detail about being shown round Barcelona's la masia. Really interesting stuff.

Bingham is at the Copa America tonight. Apparently he has an argentine third cousin so is mulling over an offer to team up with Messi.

I thought it was strange that he rejected Roy's England call up!

Your mixing him up with a look a like... He is currently running up and down Seaton Canoe beach getting himself mentally and physically fit for the challenge ahead , ie finishing above Mansfield to save me a fiver!
