Remember coming to Mansfield one New Year's Day & didn't want to go in the town centre as we know Pools hooligans were going & there'd be trouble ,so we went to the first pub we could find open.
It was The Bull Farm Social.Ha ha ,that was a bad idea.

We're not massive, but with respect your club has never been higher than League 1 (tier 3).

Yes we may have had 1 horrendous season in the conference which we deeply regret, but we've also been in the top flight of English football. Yeovil have scaled bigger heights than Hartlepool Utd.

I would recommend staying out of Mansfield altogether when Spartak Moscow are playing CSKA.

Cumbria police are similar whenever we play anyone vaguely local... one time they kettled the Hartlpool fans and slowly shuffled them towards the train station after the match.

Fair enough mate. But you still wouldn't set foot in Bull Farm even if it's 'clientele' weren't hoolies. Now, if these guys turn up at your favourite boozer, will you walk out and never return? I certainly won't, as that's what the hoolies want.

Well I would say it all got a bit out of hand... we don't want to stoop to such a level that people are comparing us to Mansfield / Bury St Germain.

I'd agree with that. Pretty much how it's been in the last two decades.

I'd prefer to think of the here and now, not about a top flight season 40 years ago. At the moment the clubs are in similar places.and I'd wager that'll be the case a good while yet

We haven't been going on about how much of a bigger club we are, actually, but as you've brought it up... we are a bigger club than Hartlepool. It's nothing to be proud of, it's just a meaningless fact that no one can do anything about.
