He's not played since November, scored two goals, and went awol for months at Christmas.

Is that serious? Cant work out if its doctored or not...would normally assume it is but this is Blackpool we're talking about

I may be making myself look like an idiot and biting at this - but if this is real, he has now removed it

Sounds like Ranger is really pleased he gets to play for Blackpool for another 12 months.

Blackpool could well be his last Football League club, so he should be grateful getting a contract extension for doing nothing!

Blackpool have done it out of spite, he's fucked them over so now he's stuck there for another 12-months, earning a non-playing wage of £150 a week.

Well, they've just been denied that one crumb of comfort of Preston losing their 10th play-off and starting a big thread of "condolences" on their forum, not to mention possibly getting a point from them next season.

Poor Blackpool, nothing can go right for them it seems...

EDIT: Just noticed this has been moved. Wonder if we'll be seeing this thread on the League 2 forum this time next year?

I noticed they announced it while the whole Blatter thing was happening last night so it went mostly under the radar

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
He's managed in L1 before and had us playing some of the best football we've seen at Carlisle for a very very long time and is quite well liked up here......well until last season when he shunted the club to stay at West Ham.

Plus if you were to ask your beloved Garner it was McDonald signed and made him.

On t'other side I personally feel he was over-rated, he had what was for me the best collection of players we've had and got 8th spot.....an attack that had over the season, Karl Hawley (before he went to pot and was in great form), Michael Bridges, Jermaine Beckford, Glenn Murray, Danny Graham, Joe Garner...............that was one hell of an attack option

but if I were fair to him he was learning his trade, he should do well at Blackpool I think, knows what he is doing.

He won't do well because he will be given no money and no say over who he signs

He's just committed career suicide.

I thought he may get support this season, but ouch when you read the Blackpool forum he's hated already, although I do love their label of him as Neil Mugdonald.

he's in for a rough ride, many telling him to f*ck off before he even begins.

Mr Oyston works hard to find a well-respected coach as Blackpool's new manager, ahead of a busy pre-season and this is the thanks he gets.

He gives them the cheapest season tickets in the league and they either don't bother to turn up or they go running on the pitch.

Bastards, the lot of them.

Won't have an owner to worry about for a while..

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston will be banned from all footballing activity for six weeks for sending abusive texts to a fan, reports BBC Radio Lancashire.

However, it is understood the Football Association has decided his punishment will not start for another four weeks.

Is it all just a bit OTT?

Could they surprise a few people given that this league isn't very good?

I don't think they will suffer successive relegations like some are suggesting. Although I live in hope.

Don't think they will trouble the top half, League One is Oyston's comfort zone and their signings so far have been pretty gash.

I think you'll be not far wrong.

We'll be bottom half and just escape relegation with a few games to go. Ala Karls comfort zone.

I am, just stayed away from this forum for a while for obvious reasons.

Yes, be interesting to see if we manage to get a squad together for this season or not. I'm not particularly hopeful after seeing the first four signings.

In fairness, Bradley Potts seems like a surprisingly sensible signing.
