What's stopping us refusing to play the rearranged game, taking a small fine and a suspended points deduction?

Stockport County.
Bolton Wanderers come across as the football club embodiment of Body Odour and always have done- even when they were in the Premier League. It really is no shock Keith Hill went there.

No surprise whatsoever, bet they were inundated with angry calls and emails from EFL clubs last night. Whatever happens, I’ll be shocked if the EFL aren’t on the recieving end of at least one lawsuit should Bolton, or one of the clubs who whipped their kids (Tranmere) stay up by a small margin.

Pretty incredible that Bolton have gotten away with that.

Write to your MPs, they will be very keen to help out at the moment!!
Lets hope the appeal is successful, if not we should all postpone our next games with them.

I would just deduct 3 points off Bolton so they don't benefit from a re arranged game with Doncaster.Obviously I doubt Doncaster would be to happy with that outcome.

Then deduct all points off teams who played us when we only had kids playing, as obviously they benefitted as well

I think a 3-0 win to Doncaster would have been fair. How they think a 35k fine is fair is anyones guess.

We beat what they put in front of us as did Wycombe, Ipswich etc. It`s hardly our fault they couldn`t have themselves sorted out before the season started.

Didn’t say it was your fault Hence why it would be the EFL getting sued rather than you. For allowing those games to go ahead whilst calling off the Doncaster game.

EFL to appeal the decision by the independent disciplinary commission, they asked to sit and decide a course of action, can they get any tinpot. This, I suspect, is in response from clubs disagreeing with the decision. This could run on and on....

This is in response to them being told they will get their arse sued by all the other clubs

Weren't Boro deducted 3 points for failure to fulfil a fixture with Blackburn in 96/97, ultimately cost them their place in the top league.

That's surely precedent?

Scunny v Exeter some time in the 80s, when IIRC the Grecians were hit by a flu epidemic and couldn't raise a team - a reasonable excuse, but Scunny were still awarded the points.

And the rest of League One cries Bolton a river at today's result. I'm surprised they didn't abandon today's game when down to 10 men so early though. Very unfair to make the other 10 poor little lambs run around so much.

Give it a rest lad. You're not happy regarding the decision, fair enough, yours and others points have been made. Write to the EFL etc if it still annoys you

After the ruling, I chuckled at the result.

It'll be funny when the EFL lose their appeal and it gets classed as frivolous...surely we'd be given the points for the Doncaster match then.

Funnily enough Tranmere were on the end of a points deduction and fine back in 1987 for failing to fulfill a fixture against Bolton Wanderers in the old 4th division. The entire squad was ill with Flu. Bolton didn’t half kick up a stink about it at the time and again when we beat them 2-0 in the rearranged fixture!

I can’t get my head around this 5 point deduction for postponing 2 games, is it a 2.5 point deduction for each game or what?

I always thought the Bolton game was called off because we refused to pay the police bill. Merseyside Police charged us for handling thousands of Bolton fans, when the away end only held 500 at the time.

I think around the same time Stockport called a game off against us because their players had the flu.

My memory is not what it used to be, so I might be wrong.
