I always thought the Bolton game was called off because we refused to pay the police bill. Merseyside Police charged us for handling thousands of Bolton fans, when the away end only held 500 at the time.

I think around the same time Stockport called a game off against us because their players had the flu.

My memory is not what it used to be, so I might be wrong.

No your right, my memory at fault again lol.

Macclesfield docked 6 points for failure of paying wages to players & missing their game Vs Crewe.

Fuck me, this is an absolutely disgusting decision.

Mark Little is still owed wages from Bolton & they cancelled their game Vs Donny and just get to walk away from it.

Absolute pricks

I'm guessing the EFL's decision on Macclesfield (unless it was another independent body decision?) was also made with one eye on their appeal against Bolton's ruling?

I guess that's what they want for Bolton, realistically.

But why is everyone else judged by the EFL, but Bolton seem to be given some random corrupt "independent" investigator?

The EFL just don't care about small clubs, but will do anything to protect larger ones.

Go on, explain why you lot somehow think we have been treated lightly ?
let me recap:
12 points deducted.
Forced to start the season without a full squad of professional players (5 to be exact)
Unable to bring any players in until after the season started.
Transfer embargo meaning we can't pay transfer fees.
Embargo on paying fees or wages for any loan players (i.e.hoping clubs loan us players and still pay them).
Limited to only having a 25 man squad.
Have to ask the EFL for special dispensation to bring any players in that are free.
Have to run all transfers by the EFL before the player can join us.

You somehow think we have been given special treatment. I would argue that we have already been hit with penalties no other club has been forced to adhere to.

- 12 points is standard for anyone in administration. But you probably believe you’re the first ever.
- Forced to start a season without a squad of players? Would you rather we moved the season back a month for you? Bury weren’t allowed to even play their games, but poor old Bolton were forced to play them. Pathetic excuse.
- Transfer embargo was justified, you also made agreements to sign players on loan and didn’t pay what you promised meaning FGR had to take them back.
- The above also justifies why you deserved not to sign players with loan fees, clearly you wouldn’t actually pay.
- You weren’t even paying players, so why should you be allowed to bring players in? I’d like to hear how you can justify that
- Are you all with it? All squad sizes are a maximum of 25. Or did you want 30? Because you’re special Bolton? Only 25 ffs give me a break

You were handed penalties for what you did and for how long you were doing it. Do you think if you keep doing shit you can just get away with it because you’ve already been punished for other crimes?

If someone commits a crime and they’re given punishment, does that mean they can keep committing crimes because they’re already been punished once before in the past? Clearly in your mind, yes.

I’m sure Bury would love to have played their games, bring in revenue & be allowed as long as Bolton to sort out their takeover.

But hey, those bastards only allowed you to have a 25 man squad. Bastards.

Then get us chucked out of the league. What you are really talking about is the end of a football club. We've been punished enough. I hope we somehow survive and stay up, you lot and others will be frothing at the mouth with indignation.

Oh and FGR have been paid all monies that they were owed, I guess you missed that

Given the points deductions handed out to teams in the past Bolton have got away with it very lightly. To you’re arguments about the start of the season I’m sorry but Bolton put themselves in that situation and I can bet that when the Club was mismanaging itself whilst in the Prem less than 1% of the fan base were complaining or asking how the debt could be managed yet are now belly aching since it’s come back and bit the club on the arse.

They might have been now, but were they at the time? What about players still owed money? Mark Little is still owed money, but you haven't paid him...

You have been punished enough for your past crimes. However, you committed new ones at the end of last season & now again this season. You should be punished again, you somehow think you're invincible and above the rules & law - only proving my point that you need further punishment.

I don't want anyone to go under, I don't care if you get relegated or not. If you stay up fair and square then fair enough - you will have deserved it. But if you stay up because the EFL didn't do their jobs properly and let you off the hook, then thats a joke. I hope their appeal will work.

If you go down, it won't be the end of you - you're being dramatic. Pompey are recovering and doing so the right way, who're arguably a bigger club (depends on opinions, but for me they are). Leeds were also in L1..

You somehow seem to think you're the first team this ever happened to and you want sympathy off us for some reason. Let me tell you that it sickens most smaller club fans that you were spared whilst Bury were thrown under the bus. It frustrates us that big clubs like yours over spend, ruin businesses and local economies and get relegated down here with us, cry wolf about going bust and then buy the league the very next season. The fact this now has happened twice in league 1 is infuriating.

This also stops the growth of teams in L1 as you end up inflating prices in the league, price smaller clubs out of it and take up promotion spots which otherwise wouldn't have been so dominated by the top 3/4 teams or giants.

So yeah, excuse me if I don't think you've been punished enough - because quite simply, you haven't.

People often feel for the fans, some attitudes make that difficult.

The EFL have lost their appeal against the suspension of the 5 point penalty.

Hey remember it`s Bolton Wanderers we are talking about here. A club with a great tradition and if I remember rightly a founder member of the football league and a former Premier League club. The fact that they are a bunch of cheating twats who purposely put a game off, using some half baked excuse at a days notice, knowing full well they would have a completely different squad of players available when it was played is irrelevant I guess. I hope Doncaster refuse point blank to play this game and that every other club in the division does likewise until they get what they rightly deserve. Foul excuse of a football club. Typical example of one rule of the PL, or in this case former PL, clubs and one for the rest of us. I for one would love to know exactly who this panel is because they obvious know sweet FA about football judging by this decision. Having said that the FL should be looking at themselves yet again for not dealing with Bolton "in house" in the first place, as they did with Macclesfield, instead of leaving it to an "independant panel" to deal with.

Try telling us that. I wish we'd had a soft as shit independent panel to let us off pretty much Scott free. Bet Bury would have appreciated similar leniency from the FL as well. It will really kick off if you stay up and we go down after all this.

I'm livid at the decision, genuinely can't imagine how you must feel.

Would love it if we would boycott our game against Bolton, I really wish the L1 teams could get together to protest this

After what we have gone through I, who used to "hate" Bolton now have no animosity to them. ITS THE FECKIN EFL that needs abuse from all members of the football family.

Maybe they can. I'd be surprised if a few chairmen aren't talking, especially those that might be more impacted by this shit shower.

All your animosity is directed at the wrong source, and some of you should know better. The EFL made the decision, we got punished. I've heard the words cheats, dishonest etc etc, some of the rhetoric has been so out of touch, incorrect, embelished, comparing us with the issues at Bury and Macclesfiled (which are different situations and done after the event with us) with a small amount of factual information. You wanted us kicked out of the League one, kicked out of the football league, more points deducted. Officially I don't a flying F, you have a problem with us fine. We are already potentially relegated anyway.

Personally, i don't want to see any more clubs go to the wall. As for Bolton, starting on -12, and not having a team at the start isn't quite enough for some. I mean things were so bad, we scored 5 against them!!
In all likelihood they will go down, but i hope that it's the worst that can happen.

I have zero interest in you getting more points deducted or a hefty fine, my complaint has always been that as a club you refused to play our match and did so on social media basically saying we don’t give a shit about the club I support. Then you treat it as if it were postponed which it most definitely wasn’t, now we are impacted in trying to fit this game in an already busy period. The only Club punished is Doncaster Rovers.
If we had been handed the 3 points I doubt the so called punishment you have been given would have caused a stir.

Funny you talk about facts, out of touch and incorrect.. just scroll up and you’ll read your own comments on how wrong you were about pretty much everything about the situation. Quite embarrassing.

But I’m sure we will have to put up with you crying wolf yet again and how poor little Bolton are the ones who actually got screwed over here.

Looking forward to seeing Bolton back here again in 3 years claiming the same shit for a third time. No doubt you’ll say you’ve been punished too much and how it’s unfair etc

I totally agree with you that it`s the EFL thats needs to get its act in order. You can`t have one rule for one club, no matter who they are, and another for everybody else. Bolton should have had at least 6 points taken off them for the Doncaster game. End of story. The only thing I don`t agree with is about you having no animosity towards them. I hate the bastards and always will. I have done since I was a kid in 1991 at Wembley and saw things done by their knuckle dragging fans to Tranmere supporters after that Wembley game the likes of which I have seen very little of since I`m delighted to say.
