Don't worry. At least the HMS Premier League is cruising serenely through the latest episode of the pandemic.

So that's alright then.

And it wasn’t us who called it off! Ripping through the Exeter squad as well.
Which must now put our game against them on 29th in doubt, if their players are still isolating...even if ours are able to resume playing.

EFL to continue "where safe to do so"

Notice Bradford v Harrogate and Bristol Rovers tie is also off.

Football is obviously not the most important thing in life but it sure is going to feel odd with no football on Boxing Day. Sigh.

Bristol Rovers v Sutton is off. I had literally paid for my match ticket and coach travel over the weekend for this. More fool me I guess….

So all these clubs know they will have less then 14 players available already?

I don’t even know if clubs have to prove it - how can they anyway?

I guess if they have been told to isolate for ten days then yes
Which means...if you count forward the ten days of isolation...you may not be able to play against us on the 29th.
Our next game could be Stevenage on New Year's Day, as our players should be OK by then, assuming that our opponents don't go down with the virus over the next few days.

I see that all sporting events in Wales are to be behind closed doors, so even if the Newport game was playable there’d be nobody in the stadium to watch it

So supporters of the Welsh teams can follow their team away but not at home - for me, doesn't make much sense at all.

Interesting interview with Carol today on the radio...

Vale held a 4 hour meeting to decide if to postpone Exeter as the club who calls it off gets costs and a fine... at this stage they knew Exeter had cases and were going to wait to see if they called it off first but then decided against brinkmanship and took the hit.

Decision on it today for our game Sunday but doesn't sound positive, Carol has called on the EFL for better support for clubs who have to call it off as the financial impacts are harsh.

Interestingly she made a point on the unvaccinated players as she feels there is a lack of support for players on understanding the side effects and maybe more help and reassurance for players is needed.

All the positive cases at Port Vale are however in Vaccinated players.

Its a fuckin piss take we can't go and watch our team or to my favourite day of the year the welsh grand national meeting at chepstow on the 27th. but we can go and sit indoors with 6,000 others at the motorpoint arena in cardiff to watch a concert these people making these knee jerk decisions really are fuckin brain dead.

None of any of this has made any sense from the January 2020.

Welsh sides have to play behind closed doors at home but you can still go to the pub? Make this crap up as they go along. So much for 'following the science and evidence'

Our game with Colchester now in doubt because Colchester have 14 fit players and are now waiting on further PCR results.

If its any consolation it looks like measures are being considered today which would close the pubs too.

At least no one will moan about us calling it off now

Not sure what ours or Oldham's covid situations are, nothing has really been said about ours so who knows how likely our game is to go ahead.

The last time our fans witnessed an away victory was actually at Oldham away on New Years day 2020, we desperately need to get a win here but we are just even worse away from home.

Given the situation in Scotland and Wales I wonder what is worse - no game or game going ahead without fans. To me its the latter, the loss of income to a club is crucial for Boxing Day and New Years games.

Not been in a pub for nearly two years. Was going to one last Wednesday but realised it was small, thin and pokey so decided against.

Just been mentioned to me, by a fan from another team, that our game against Exeter on 29th is off...but not sure where they got that from.

@hartlepool fans what’s the deal with you? i understand you had/have it in your camp, are you good to go for boxing day?

If all your players have been isolating for 10 days it’s not really fair to play if you’ve not had a chance to train etc.

No clue, it's been quiet on that front, dunno how many had/have it, I only know we cancelled a friendly/warmup game that was due today cos of COVID.

Gotta image we'll hear something soon one way of the other.

Clough seemed to think Hartlepool are confident of it going ahead but don’t mean much with how things are, either club could end up in trouble between now and Boxing Day easily. Hope it’s on, love Boxing Day footie.

Just been updated, no further cases than the one's already reported and the game as of today is going ahead.

Reducing the isolation period from 10 to 7 days may make a difference for upcoming games.

Nothing from Vale officially as to whether this game is on other than they sent out a generic tweet this morning about tickets are on sale at present. I guess that we haven’t called it off yet suggests we might actually be playing.

Looks like we may be on!

Just need Boris to not close stadia before then and we might get to see the lads.

The 7 day isolation changes things I imagine plus gives them a couple of days training so hopefully go into it prepared well.
