Struggle to see how we get anything from this, we've looked far from convincing under the new manager, albeit 4 points from 6, Oates will be busting a gut after all the stick he received in the summer, Tyler Burey being back and hopefully in the squad is a big boost for us, can pull something out of nothing, I'd be happy with a point here, keep us chugging along.

Oates has improved massively recently, he’s looked like a genuine good L2 striker although he’s had some injury issues.

It was in Wirral and Barrow local press (so taken with a pinch of salt) that there were 'covid issues' in the Tranmere squad and haven't been able to train properly. Just seems all set up for a late postponement.

We'd of been a different proposition this season if Oates stayed, never been known for his finishing ability but has raw pace, leaves most players for dead, hopefully we're playing some defenders with legs today.

Our midfield must all have covid, no Lapslie, Clarke, or Quinn. We usually play rubbish without Quinn in particular.

Bench is 5 strong, one goalkeeper and rest are basically from the academy including Law who’s actually starting in midfield. Less confident now.

At the same time though, if we take Dave Challinor on his word Oates was offered a good deal by the club, Pools never even got a rejection from him, basically ignored us and went elsewhere, which was his right to do, but a little decency towards to the club who picked him up from the scrap heap wouldn’t of gone amiss.
