Imagine if Johnson didn't manage to pull a 20-a-season man out of his ass every year.
I think strikers have always done well under Cotterill/Johnson here because of how we play and what we have, they always chances. Taylor will be the one that scores a lot next season imo.

You reckon? haven't seen much of the guy but he's been there a while now and hasn't featured much. Has he been injured?

He came in at the back end of last season and got a run of games and started to look the part up top with Abraham and would've been playing up top instead of Reid at the start of this season but got an injury early in pre-season which shafted him really, came back September/October time, started a few and was getting up to speed, got that assist against United and then got a bad ankle injury and his first game back was Brum in midweek and he came on and scored.

Not worried about his injury record, he never got injured at Rovers he's just been unlucky with impact injuries here. Reid will be off in the summer for £8-10m but in fairness we do have another striker at the club on 15 goals who's missed 4 months of the season. Missed the game at your place the other week but one of my mates went and said he was our best player, so at least you've seen a bit of him.

Diedhou? Yep, good player, was your main threat.

Taylor will never be more than a satisfactory bench player and Reid will go for more than £10m. He's a better all rounder than Kodjia for example.

I like him. If we'd have signed him for £1m our fans would be gushing over him, but because it's £5m (which isn't a huge fee in this division nowadays) people hold that against him. 15 goals is a solid return, we've got what we paid for.

Reid has 13 months left on his deal, won't be getting more than £10m for him. Nor Bryan.

Diedhiou has been banned for 6 matches for spitting at David Davis.

Deserves everything he gets if it's true El G. On our forum people have watched the match video and it seems to be nothing at all and Fammy has vehemently denied it.
That said, if he did do it, he's a bloody disgrace!
I believe the club are speaking to lawyers about an appeal.

Yeah, the video’s inconclusive but there’s a 20 second gap off camera from when Davis fouled Diedhiou to when they came nose to nose. It didn’t look like the reaction of someone who had been spat at though.

No right to appeal according to our local rag!
That's twice the FA have had us over this year with little to no proof!

Well if there is conclusive evidence that Fammy did it then I fully support the ban, but if there is, why have the club released a statement denying the allegations?

The club aren’t going to admit he spat are they.

Look at the Wright incident & how quick they were to release that evidence

Maybe ask him if he wants to vandalize any memorial gates while he's at it...

To be fair Gassy, the average vandal would probably improve the mem! I don't condone what happened to the gates by the way.
Have you booked your seat in the newest tent yet?

The rumour is that the newest tent is the start of the development? Surely that's not the case although it would be hilarious for us if it was.
I think it would be hilarious for everyone apart from us tbh.

I'm 99% sure it's not. They club recently asked fans what they want and more seats propped up for our ever aging fan base so I think it's more of a chance to make some extra cash but also keep fans quiet for a while - paper over the cracks and all that. The bigger problem is that we don't even know if it will be a tent or if they're going to put seats onto the terracing (like you used to have) and stick a roof on top.

As usual, we know nothing. We're all just assuming its a tent because thats all we know

Fair enough Gassy, nice to see your humour is as good as ever.
I understood the new 'stand / tent' was going behind the existing terrace in the area beside the taller stand so it would be a seated area behind the terracing.
Now, as I understand it, there will be the same either side of that stand but I certainly stand to be corrected.
As for the potential development, grand plans are all well and good but I have serious doubts as to where the finances would come from. If this is 'it', I really do feel sorry for the gas fans (don't tell anyone mind!). :animatedf:

That was my understanding as well tbh. Until someone recently posted on our forum that we've now submitted planning permission in which it looks like they'll put seats on the terracing too. I did a quick check on the Bristol City Council website and found no application at all.

We haven't even been informed if its a tent above of a small tin roof or anything. As per, shocking communication.

Sorry for hijacking the thread here, at least this nonsense brings someone joy!

Hey, it's the close season, nothing much happening so feel free to 'hijack' Gassy.

So what's the aims for you lot next season? It seems LJ is great at going from hero to zero, back to hero and now zero again

God knows Gassy. I suppose we'll have to see who we lose first.
Whether we trust LJ and MA (CEO) to spend any funds wisely is another matter but we're definitely gonna lose a few players but we've got the likes of COD back which is a positive.
If we're still in the Championship this time next year, that'll be ok with me.
We blew a cracking opportunity TBH.
Yourselves?
