God knows Gassy. I suppose we'll have to see who we lose first.
Whether we trust LJ and MA (CEO) to spend any funds wisely is another matter but we're definitely gonna lose a few players but we've got the likes of COD back which is a positive.
If we're still in the Championship this time next year, that'll be ok with me.
We blew a cracking opportunity TBH.
Yourselves?
Really? Surely you don't need to sell though? At one point I must say I was a bit worried that you'd go up, thank god for the Carling Cup though, seemed like after that the wheels fell off a tad.

Very early to tell for us, I reckon we'll make an actual go at the play offs next season. Clarke is adding slowly with quality. For a while we were still playing most of our conference team but now we've actually got skillful players with DC's drive/passion that he enforces. As long as we don't give away our best players like we have the last 2 Januarys - I reckon we'll mount a top 6 push.

Interesting reading on BBC earlier about how much the championship is worth to a club, Shrewsbury saying the difference in the central money between L1 & Champ is 7m Vs 1.4m. Then there is TV money on top of that

Needing to sell and downright stupidity are different things Gassy. With the likes of Bobby Reid going into the last year of his contract, if we can't get him to sign another one, we would be crazy to turn down potentially £10-12M. The same goes for Joe Bryan and Marlon Pack, even Flinty if he wants to go.
My issue is whether I trust certain individuals to spend it wisely.
As for your chances, it all revolves around keeping Clarke IMHO.
On the money, yes, the cash you get at this level is a lot higher but so are the costs / wages. As our turnover has shot up (redeveloped stadium, much bigger crowds), we can survive but there are some seriously wealthy clubs in the Championship, much bigger fees and wages than we can pay.

Don't worry about the last year of contract, it doesn't matter. Trust me on this one mate, January won't be a problem at all , as long as you don't have a release clause you'll be alright:ffs:

You're right though, some of these championship clubs are just massive. I imagine the league will be even tougher next season? West Brom are experts at promotion from the Champ, Stoke & Swansea will both be right up there. As well as Fulham/Villa. Wigan & Blackburn will most probably be an upgrade on Sunderland & Burton?

I think it'll be easier next season. The three relegated teams will lose all their good players to bottom half prem clubs, the only one I think will possibly challenge is Swansea. I think it'll be a very competitive league next season but lacking in quality as much as this season (Fulham and Wolves aside).

I'm inclined, at the moment, to think it will be a much tighter division where the relegated sides are weaker than Wolves (they were the best side by some way to be fair) and the promoted clubs are stronger than the sides they replaced.
I don't think there will be a runaway winner yet I wouldn't like to predict that any side will be marooned at the bottom, it could be anyone TBH.
Is that 'easier'? Weaker even? I'm not sure.
It will make for an interesting season if nothing else.

Can't argue with either points tbf - hopefully it's closer. For me the Championship has usually been the most exciting division for a few reasons;
1. It's normally very close - last game of the season some times even 14th can get relegated
2. Some real big clubs, but not big like Man Utd - big clubs with real support Eg Wednesday, Derby etc
3. Anything can (normally) happen - anyone can beat anyone and go on an amazing run at any moment

This season was pretty boring in honesty with the top & bottom teams pretty obvious throughout

You're just used to seeing us flailing around near the bottom Gassy, that's why it was boring! ;)

The fixtures aren't bad for a change with just 2 long midweek trips (Rotherham and Ipswich). Albion is only up the road so that's a nice easy one to get to during the week.
Makes a change and we finally get to play PNE on a Saturday!

Got a feeling a few will be revised as they just don’t exist or won’t be played on a Wednesday

Got a feeling Johnson will go with 4-3-3 this season given the amount of wingers we have and convert O'Dowda into a left sided centre mid. Could look like this on the opening day...

Button?
Hunt Webster Baker Kelly
Brownhill Pack O'Dowda
Adelukan Diedhiou Paterson
Shaping up okay, can't see us getting off to a quick start with the amount of signings we've made but we've got a squad full of proven players now.

Hopefully Diedhiou's ban gets overturned. Biggest signing we will make this summer is if Pack signs on, I'm praying.

I agree 4-3-3 looks like our best bet at the moment, but I don't see many goals in the team above.

We seem to be signing a team of players who have fallen slightly out of favour with their previous clubs. None of them excite me but all have solid Championship experience and should be steady enough.

An Ipswich style mid table bore of a season beckons.

All coming with the tag line of “just missed out on the prem promotion “
