It was so plainly obvious that Tomlin would revert to form once he landed a nice contract. Seems a right twat.

He showed no lack of effort, we've just got a crap manager

Well he did at times.... And if he is being sold its more than likely because he doesn't fit with the formation we want to play and is therefore and expensive waste of money.

I think you're both right TBH.
Johnson can't manage the ego that is Lee Tomlin but LT hasn't helped himself at all by appearing heavy and very blasé in his attitude.
If he leaves, we won't miss him but I still question LJs Management.

5 pens wasn't it
4 I think, may be wrong though. I see your point though.

Don't think this is down to LJ this time, can understand why he'd leave him out the side. He's very hard to fit into the formation (4-4-2) that we're playing at the moment.

Josh this is like another discussion I had about Pearson being better than Davis, people were blinded by his goals which came from him taking all the pens and Pearson came from open play

As much as I love Tomlin and watching him play (when he can be arsed), a club our size can not be investing that sort of money (transfer fees and wages) on a player who not starting 90% of our games. Such a shame but thats football for a BCFC fan I suppose.

Are you on about Stephen Pearson and Steven Davies?

Well I wouldn't really say that's true seeing as Davies scored 13 goals in the season he was here and only 2 of those goals were penalties. It's weird to compare them anyway considering they don't even play in the same position.

We're supposedly tracking New York red bulls defender Kemar Lawrence
A quick google search reveals:
His nickname is Taxi
He's a full-back, who plays for the Jamaican international team
Supposedly a good wing-back
Brand ambassador for Pepsi
Apart from that not much really

So with the fixtures list only a 11 days away....who does everyone think we will get and given the choice, who would you have.
Sunderland away would be good to get out of the way on a nice Saturday afternoon, with the mandatory stop over in Newcastle for the night.

Magnuson can't get a game but can score the winner against Croatia
I'm beginning to think the story about paying an extra fee if he played so many games last season might be true. It would suggest he wasn't purchased to play so many times TBH.
A fine player is Magners!

So what do you? Sell him or play him as the clause will still be applicable

No idea Walkley. It may be that the clause was for a number of appearances in the first season? If it isn't, there's no point in Magners being at City if we can't play the bloke. It's not fair on the club or the player.
If it still applies, whoever signed the deal wants shafting as clubs like City just don't sign players from Juve and not play them! We'll just have to pay the clause I guess, if it still applies as the status quo is plain daft.

Surely it depends how much the fee is? If you were skint I'd understand being cautious on paying an extra fee for a player, but Lansdown isn't. Unless the fee being asked is ludicrous.

Always gives me great comfort to see this thread continuing. It provides patronising c***s like me with a sense that we are more than three minutes away from global meltdown if people with improbable West Country accents are mulling over bargain basement transfers and "living like a king in Sunderland".

I can't disagree Joe. It must have been some fee IF we dropped him because of it as he didn't get a look in after Xmas. :dk:
The 'clause' is only a rumour by the way but if it isn't true, I've no idea what has happened as Magners is quality.

If you have an accent, you tend not to hear it. Fortunately, and I mean that genuinely, I have not a trace of a Black Country accent.:bg1:
I most definitely sound like a farmer Herts and am damn proud of it! Even my posh voice sounds like I've a piece of straw in me gob!
West country and proud me babber, west country and proud. :)

It was true mate, found out and said it to Aaron-Bcfc at the back end of January. I think what LJ said about him only being able to play one position will come back to bite him on the arse as it's very likely he's going to be first choice LB next season.

Quite a weird concept, it was a minutes based clause but then I assume it'll be the same amount of minutes next season, so we're just going to have to pay it.

Apparently the fee we'd have to pay was substantial but it fucked me off that we were willing to risk not playing one of our best players and go down for the sake of a few quid.
